Well, at least he's awesome on fifa
He wouldn't have known until it actually happened. Mourinho even said that the last City game taught him a lot about the mentality of his squad. I think he was referring to Mkhitaryan in particular. If that's what Mourinho feels then I can't understand why we took a near £30m punt.
Lingard and Mkhitaryan were both dropped after the City debacle.
Afterwards, Mourinho talked about how he was disappointed with the mentality and resoluteness of certain players in such a high pressure match.
What's clear is that Lingard has risen to the challenge ever since. Evidently, Mkhitaryan hasn't. I presume he's been shit in training because, conversely, Lingard has managed to turn things around for himself.
It's understandable, I suppose. Mkihtaryan is supposed to be an extreme introvert. He wilted under the pressure of the derby day game. And now he appears to be wilting under the pressure of Mourinho's personality demands.
Our current manager likes arrogant players who can stand up to his abrasive man-management style. If Mkhitaryan can't do that, he's going to get thrown out of the club. You have to back your manager in a situation like this.
He's making decisions which are more bizarre than LvG's.. He's LvG in disguise. He's going to be sacked before Moyes if he keeps this up.

He rose to the challenge of not giving up or letting his head drop in training.Lingard certainly didn't rise to the challenge on Sunday. Mkhitaryan is such a top player aswell, streets ahead of Mr Average Lingard. Can't believe this treatment he is getting.
We can only guess what's happening in training. Also how can he now how Henrikh will cope with PL if he isn't giving him chances? He rose to the challenge of not giving up or letting his head drop in training.
This. Or so I hope it is.I think people need to calm down. He was absolutely shocking Vs city previously, so to bring him back against them in what now is an important game, would be stupid IMO.
I think he will start against Burnley at the weekend and has been told previously he will be. He was taken today just in case someone got injured.
If he is not involved against Burnley, then I'd say there is a deeper issue.
It's not. It's based on a rumor that goes around in Dortmund but no real quotes of where this originated from so still looks like hirse shit even if the sun isn't the source.
If Mkhitaryan were performing better in training, he'd be in the squad ahead of Lingard. Mourinho isn't an agenda-driven Caftard. He's a pragmatist, and this is his job.We can only guess what's happening in training. Also how can he now how Henrikh will cope with PL if he isn't giving him chances?
To me it is laughable because as explained yesterday, three previous managers have praised him multiple times regarding his training and work ethics - regardless of his performances in matches. Is it really that outrageous to think that a guy whose shown himself in the past to be capable of being utterly abysmal when he feels pressed (Dortmund in the Champions League, hell, even vs City) is struggling to cope with the move and is playing awfully in training?
Was always the risk with this move, I'd go as far as to say that Ferguson would never have touched him with a bargepole given the question marks over his mentality.

Last time Mhkitaryan started was in this exact fixture and he struggled. Now I know the personnel of City isnt as strong on paper but I don't see a big deal with him not playing. However, I would be very disappointed of he doesn't start against Burnley on Saturday.
He should do. Completely goes against what he said just over a week ago. Ridiculous situation really.Fair enough, he isn't starting. But he is not even on the bench and he is not injured?
Mou really needs to come clear about what is going on.
I can stomach bad results but it's things like this that run my patience thin.
You can't use players like this.
