Have we signed anyone yet? | Yes, with stupid tax

As bad as things are, it seems that we're about to have an epic muppet end to the transfer window. I can see us in the last day scrambling to find anyone, and making bids for Neymar and Modric.

Surely those of us here who in their early 20s are good enough to at least get a good look from Murtough and Fletcher?

We need to change our angle of approach, this shit aint working for us just like it works for other ones.

It is not the end of the window yet, but I really thought with EtH as manager, United would stop going for supposed big name players and really try to scout and buy "the right players" as EtH said before.

Well the panic is kicking in now that everyone is rejecting us so we're scrambling

We look like we’re just throwing shit at a wall and seeing what sticks.

This is dreadfully desperate stuff.

We’re scrambling because we are still trying to recruit ‘names’. We’d have no problem signings the actual right players with a low profile.

It’s only possible with an actual scouting department and actual DOF available - we only have “hierarchy” instead

Probably. Our hunt will finish with Mousa Dembele and Ighalo though.

We're in serious trouble, imo. Genuinely worried that nobody will come at all, at this rate.

Felix
De Jong
Casemiro
Dest

This is going to be some end to the window.

Although extraordinarily unlikely, it would be absolutely mental.

Felix
Rashford - Eriksen - Sancho
de Jong - Casemiro
Malacia - Martinez - Varane - Dest
De Gea

Is not a bad team at all. That would mean we have replaced our entire core in one fell swoop. Question marks over De Gea's ability to play as a sweeper obviously, but my word that would be one hell of a window to start the rebuild.

Ah the oul scatter gun approach.

The powers that be are making us look like fcuking dopes.

Oh God I want the season over already! :wenger:

He's fighting to stay in his job. He will take anyone right now

Casemiro, Joao Felix… we will end up signing no one else, won‘t we? Putting all our eggs on FdJ basket and leave it too late to get other midfielders in. Ruiz or Nunes would have been great.

We should lower our target a bit. Finding an upgrade on McFred is not a surmountable task. How about Paredes on loan? Or Pjanic, unless he also has deferred wages need sorted.

I'm just not buying the latest raft of names. We've gone from shopping at Aldi to raiding Waitrose. It's complete bollocks.

This is the thing it's really not that hard, we just got played around by teams who have a good team building ethos and recruitment, what we are trying to do is scrap the team building and go straight for the big players with no thought about team building or any kind of recruitment strategy.

We could easily improve our 11 by signing 3 midfielders this summer instead of chasing De Jong around the block and now these last minute clutches at anything that walks.

For free we could have got Kamara and Eriksen and then signed one other to slot in a CM position and had money left over to prioritise other positions over that and that would have improved the team straight away.

We are basically like a toddler who wants to walk before it can crawl.

I thought we'd have a new signing pretty much signed sealed and delivered by now after Saturdays shit show.

Best to face facts until these owners go I genuinely think we are finished as a big club

Joke of a transfer window. And this is on the back of hiring the most exciting manager we have gotten in the post SAF era.

Yeah, unfortunately I'm at the same conclusion. Can't help but feel we've spent most of our money and the lack of success/CL has finally caught up now. It'll take levels of investment I've never seen under the Glazers and I don't even think we're capable of, to close the gap to the top.

I've had a laugh tonight though with these links/reactions and the blow back on Murtough.

Thats how you rebuild in one summer. That would be a dream come true. Its not impossible either, but it will never happen unfortunately.

It’s getting to the stage where we don’t even have to buy improvements, as long as we add players to some departments of the squad so we don’t have to play our better players out of position. Even loaning players would be good, at least we can’t be seen as much as a threat to the stronger teams at the moment.

Our transfer approach?

Wow. Just...wow.

What the feck is going on?

Chased after De Jong for 3 months to then switch to Casemiro? An entirely different profile and even more unlikely?

Go after Rabiot for 2 weeks and end up nowhere?

No RB? No GK? No FW?

And now I'm hearing Joao Felix? What the feck? And who are these intermediaries? Mendes?

Why do I have the same feeling with Moyes transfer window? It feels like we are chasing ghosts and end up with a poor transfer window.

I think the worst part is that we didn't spend in January, essentially giving up on the season, to ""plan"" this window. All that to end up with our worst window since 2013.

This club makes me fecking sick.

We won't be signing anyone else, there's no money left. They're stringing the fans along with all these links to numerous players.

They're going for the big names again. Strap on for "there is no value in the market* when the window closes and none of them are here.

Still need a RW…
It can be a good investment if they secure this player as an attacking winger, but he's too young now, Ryan Cherki. I see Casemiro and Milinkovic-Savic as more robust midfield options than others.

One thing is for sure though - no one is using United to get a better contract at their current club anymore :D
