Rest of transfer forum “the people don’t want to hear logic anymore”
As we found out with our straightforward purchase of Sancho from the selling club - in reference to your throwaway comment out dortmund being a selling club. Yes I know haaland had a release clause..

Edit, not your comment, but then one you replied

Feck it...my inner muppet has dementia.

This is what worries me about ETH, if this is true or not. I just wonder if he knows the full extent of the crisis we're in. He obviously believes in himself as a coach but if he thinks just adding a couple of his ex players to our squad will change things then he might be hanging himself out to dry. Talking about us finishing 2nd recently, when everyone that watched United every week knew the true reality of the situation (except Ole in lot).

He dismissed Rangnick and along with him the several months of planning for transfers.

We basically started from scratch and I'm sure ETH expected it to be a bit swifter than it has. But Im also sure that he wouldn't be complaining about the slow start and that all the noise is completely made up.

Can’t see how ETH would be shocked. I’m sure he’s more than aware of the dreadful malaise the clubs currently in, even if he’s being updated via McClarren.

Honestly I'm much more concerned about our constant inability to clear players out and get reasonable fees, than getting incoming signings. I believe the latter will come in the end. But unlike what many seem to want to admit, net spend is a very real thing. We can't keeping running our player valuations into the ground and keep up in the long run.

Yeah we don't look capable of selling anyone so have to make do with loan deals

Never mind the budget is there any top talented striker available?

Haaland has only just joined City, Mbappe has only just signed a new contract at PSG & Kane & Lewi ain't getting any younger, who does that leave?

I don't even remember him playing for us.
I'd take Kane without a second's thought. He's 28 so got at least three good years if not more

How long before Ten Hag throws up his hands and just says feck this, I’m out?

Seriously, the lack of club leadership is a real problem. I see a group preaching patience, to to me this screams organizational failure. If I was Ten Hag and sat across the table from Joel and Avram Glazer, those two absolute gits, and watched them with their lack of vision, weak understanding of the game and knowledge of the transfer market, you’d want to just leave.

I give him credit for being quiet til now. Can you imagine Conte at this point???

I am sick. We are fecking up again. I try to be optimistic, but we disappoint every season.

As bad as our managers have been the way we do transfer is the biggest problem we have. We pay to much for everyone and let everyone go for less than they should we worth.

You’re not sick you’re just being a wetter. Gonna be a great week this.

this is why we didn't approach Conte - because they knew damn well he'd tell it as it is. In the end, that's why Jose got sacked in my opinion (with other factors too, I guess). I've been (half jokingly) saying that ETH must have phoned his lawyers at least once to ask if there was a way out!)

We're literally closing in on his main target in June and you muppets think he should quit?

Time for us to rejoice at the club having been unable to complete a single incoming or outgoing transfer by the start of preseason training.

Quite a feat that is.

Assuming that we get FDJ, who do you think the club would target next? Is there any substance in the Antony interest?

the whole board should be sacked if this is true - it would be a win, win situation!
Wouldn't it just! I just wonder if the part ex value they were going for was 40 pesos. :D

But what a way to remove a slab of dosh from the wage bill if they offered anywhere near 40m. Take the loss and run!

I guess it needs us to know our CB replacement targets and also to not be fleeced when we go for them. Sadly I think neither is likely and so in Harry we chill.

Does this count

United have instead signed 16-year-old goalkeeper Elyh Harrison from League Two Stevenage.

Stevenage chairman Phil Wallace said: “Our very best wishes go to Elyh, and we will follow his career with interest. This is the fourth young player in four years that has been signed from Stevenage’s Academy to a Premier League club”.

“We have negotiated all of these transfers outside of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) system and therefore [it] delivers significant funding to the Club, alongside a continued financial interest in their success, justifying our huge investment in the Academy”.

I’ve never had a problem with the way the Glazers bought the club (typical in corporate finance), listing the club in the stock market, even the dividends I never really cared about. It is a business, after all. But the weak, sniveling way they have led the club since SAF retired has been the overarching theme in all of our failures. They’ve even spent money, so it’s not even that. It’s the absolute lack of leadership, the poorly functioning organization they’ve built that drives me insane. I have no doubt that Murtaugh and Arnold are unhappy with the way they have to get sign off from Avram and Joel on every move. The impression from the outside is that it’s like herding cats…

Ok once ETH gets a chance to eyeball the players in training which just started, he will have a better idea whether and where we need new signings. I am guessing that things which can be trained will not be an issue. But inate abilities like touch and weight of passing, I am guessing if the player lacks it at this stage of his career is going to be one of those factors which we need a new signing for. Transfers should start rolling in soon.

Pop the champagne, lads and lasses, we got... [checks name on report] Malacia! Always rated this player since I found out about him two minutes ago.

Have we been linked to any DMs? Are we allergic to them? Is fergie still pushing McTominay in a double pivot? Due to the negative connotations with Instagram DMs, does the club believe signing a DM is bad publicity? Does the club believe signing a DM will make us less attacking, upsetting the “die hard fans” resulting in picnics and barbecues in front of their homes, upsetting their dogs in the process?

stay tuned

but in reality I think we will pull a DM in. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if a late bid for Rice is thrown in so we can get him next summer. They just have to sign a stop gap in the meantime

Or we will play with DeJong and maybe Eriksen or Fred in the double pivot

Just a reminder with all this nearly talk that our signings and sales so far stands at a grand total of ZERO
