Fair offer. I really want him but if they continue to ask for up to £90m we should walk away.
If they've been holding out for £90m all window I doubt they're suddenly going to change their mind and accept £80m. I thought earlier in the day we may have gone off him but apparently not. I'll wait until Simon Stone confirms a bid.
Either that or we prioritize a CDM and go with Tuanzebe-Lindelof as starting CBs, which I'm starting to warm on considering how shit Matic is.If they turn that down, I hope we already have replacement lined up and move fast
Who gives a feck about banter. If true...80million I know we need a solid defender and it isn't our money. However he better well turn out to be our van dijk or the banter will be on us.
Yeah I think it'd be absurd too but Leicester hold all the cards here and if they want to hold out for £90m then they have every right to, if we're willing to go up to £80m for him there's a very good chance we may end up paying the full £90m.It would be absurd if they turned this offer down. They're extremely unlikely to get an offer like this again for him, imo. Whilst i think he's a good defender, i don't see him as world class, so this is more than a fair offer. And that's an understatement.
I think we also need a CDM as I fell the same way about Matic. I don't think this deal is going to happen and they way we have been moving in the market, it's going to be hard to to get replacement in, even if we have one lined up.Either that or we prioritize a CDM and go with Tuanzebe-Lindelof as starting CBs, which I'm starting to warm on considering how shit Matic is.

They'd probably ask for £100m if we included Rojo.We could mug them and go to 80 plus Rojo.
Yup. 'Fair value' would be something like 60m + 10m even in today's carzy market, if they turn down 80m then walk away. He lacks acceleration which is a major flaw in a world class defender and he is not worth 80m.Fair offer. I really want him but if they continue to ask for up to £90m we should walk away.
We've not been playing with a DM though, we've been playing with a #10.We need a DM more than we need Maguire.

I don't get this attitude why would you want someone that behaves so unprofessionally? It just means he'd do it to you if a better offer comes alongMaguire needs to get with the programme and start throwing a wobbler.

Have you not seen the state of our pathetic defense?

reality is we need both. I'll happily have the defense fixed first.I have, and part of the reason they are pathetic is how absurdly easy it to get through our midfield. Matic is finished and Pogba gets bored of defending after 15 mins. Unless we fix that problem I wouldn't expect a massive improvement.
there's always a better offer somewhereRealistically, Maguire isn't going any higher than United, so don't think we have to worry about him doing the same to us.
Someone like Pogba probably will at some stage, such is life.

I can move on but it’s other clubs that will cling on when Ed is sitting in a negotiation table. You say years ago but what has he done ever since he tried acting like billy big balls? Why are you clinging onto things that happened 5+ years ago? We are in a different time. Move on.
Not really. I personally like players who would do anything to play for Manchester United. Opportunities like that don't come around twice in a lifetime.I don't get this attitude why would you want someone that behaves so unprofessionally? and 3 years ago you would have said he'd never be on Manchester United's radar, or in the England teamNot for Harry Maguire there's not
I don't think Slabhead is ever going to be on Real Madrid's radar
feel free I cannot remember signing someone who acted like a twat to force a move to us and I wouldn't have wanted to sign them if they did so if you can pull one out I have forgotten then by all meansShall we go through all the players that done this and came in to your club being very professional after?
He needs the move make it happen. His character will never be judged by United.
I dislike players who go on strike to force a move, for sure. But Maguire has been extremely professional through it all, hasn't he? If (and it's a huge IF because the Sky news could very well be BS) you guys reject 80m I'd understand him if here were pissed though, to be honest.I don't get this attitude why would you want someone that behaves so unprofessionally? In fairness quite a few did seem to rate him, although this was after he'd bossed us over the course of three games.and 3 years ago you would have said he'd never be on Manchester United's radar, or in the England team

thats just a silly valuation. Maguire is a good defender but is massively overrated here. 60 million is more than a good deal but I guess Leicester want to rinse us. Its okay if we dont get maguire given we are being outpriced. Its only at Manchester United nobody bats an eye paying 90 million for a good defender. The only issue we should have as fans is if we dont have a replacement target given bailly is out.We bought Lindelof and Bailly cost about £66m combined to solve the CB issue. In the current market, that's comparable to the £80-90m that Maguire is going for.
If I had to pick between Lindelof+Bailly or Maguire on his own, I'd pick the latter.
HM is as close to a sure thing as you'll find anywhere.
by all accounts he has, which is why no Leicester fan (who isn't a total feckwhit), would begrudge him the move as he has done it the right way, doesn't mean we want it to happen mindI dislike players who go on strike to force a move, for sure. Fair enough. After a couple of seasons at most people will be talking about him in the same terms as VVD, so he will attract interest from other European giantsIn fairness quite a few did seem to rate him, although this was after he'd bossed us over the course of three games.

Ooof, now that'd be nice. Can't see it personally, do think he's a very good player though.by all accounts he has, which is why no Leicester fan (who isn't a total feckwhit), would begrudge him the move as he has done it the right way, doesn't mean we want it to happen mind
