Welcome to being a high profile premier league team mate!
You must have had all this before with Kante, Vardy and Mahrez, so not sure why Maguire to us seems to get your guys asses flapping so much?
Is it because it's us and you think you can overtake us?
There weren't floods of Leicester fans moaning at the other three player scenarios and you were champions after two of the stories/links.

In truth mate the only one that was a pain was mardy Mahrez spitting his dummy out! Kante had a release clause, which we've learnt from and Vards made his mind up to stay pretty quickly, obviously Kante was a gutting blow cos it was like losing 2 players, as he's that good.Mahrez was class for us but his behaviour was Odemwingie like waiting at an airport going awol when there was no concrete offer at that point.

I have tried to give an honest feedback about the news from our end and opinion , yet I see there's a lot of sensitive souls getting upset about a few comments on a Leicester forum, come on guys football is tribal surely a bit of silly banter isn't going to hurt you that much?

Anyway back to Harry ,been at work, any news?

It's amazing how incompetent we are, we wanted to sign CB last summer and failed. We tried to sign Maguire last season and failed.

12 months later, we didn't even find a single alternative who is improvement on what we have (lets be honest, bar is not high) and wasting one more window trying to sign the same player. So we wasted 2 windows to sign Harry Maguire and in 12 months we couldn't find alternative or other CBs who are clear improvements on what we have.

To clarify, the Neymar deal was not a value set by the market, he had a release clause which clubs generally set higher and PSG decided to activate it. I am sure if he didnt have a release clause, Barca would be asking for more.

A good example to use is Coutinho.

I'm aware thats my point mate. One very expensive deal for a defender or attacker doesn't set the market rate for every other player in that particular position.

If it's less I assume you will be giving credit where it's due.
Hell yes. Don't mind the player, especially since our other transfer targets have all faded away. Its always been about the price.

That's what bothers me the most. And the worst is that we all know that in 3 or 4 seasons, we will look back at the last summers and wonder why we didn't sign X.

We just have to hope that we won't be looking back at this window and say "why did we sign Maguire".

The player himself will push for it, and we have already seen the signs for it.
Signs, don't make me laugh, there's been nothing credible or tangible and Harry has not agitated for a move or put a transfer request in etc etc.

Don't waste your money buying such a crap newspaper in future. United getting tough.....LOL, that has to be a joke, hilarious...
I don't buy papers they're full of crap made up stories, I said I saw a headline on the news...''what's in the newspapers" feature on....BBC TV news and yes I agree United getting tough is a joke, you will either pay what WE want or not get your man, simple really!

He will if Leicester remain greedy and that is the final straw for him.

Leicester have no need to sell a player they value highly. If we can't or won't meet their price, that should be an end to it and we look elsewhere.

You can't remain in both the boats, if you don't want to sell, say he's not for sale and reject any bids even in the range of 90 M for him, but clearly they are negotiating, which means a Considerable bid will be entertained and negotiated and they are open to selling.

At this moment though I feel the agreement is not stuck due to the fact that both brighton and Leicester will get their replacements negotiated first before agreeing on maguire deal. It's a chain which is delaying things.

Brighton would never have bid such a big amount (for them) if funds were not to come to their pockets very soon, not for Adam Webster at least. Hence definitely everything is agreed upon - as it shall start with Brighton buying, then by Leicester and finally by us.

Official BHA: If Webster joins #bhafc, it has “no direct implications” for Dunk. Matt Clarke being linked with a loan to Derby, who need a left-sided centre-back. Webster rumours seem well founded.

PS: that leaves BHA with five centre-backs: Dunk, Duffy, Balogun, Burn, Webster (if signed, or Clarke), Ben White (on loan).

One surplus? My guess is that Balogun will depart, for free, if not this summer, he will leave in January 2020.

Luton didn't to sell James Justin to us so we had to pay over what he was worth to make it worth their while, every player, even at United, has a price, why some of you cannot grasp this I'm not sure

Leicester is already making a huge amount of profit in the range of 40-50 m with the 70 m bid for the player, the stance on extra money gets in the range where it is blocking a players career path and trajectory as it could be his last chance to move to a big club on market wages for a defender like him. If the price is way higher than no one is paying in the market then you are denying a player his dream move.

Look at Zaha for example, his price was set so high it denied him his dream move to arsenal, but he has age and time on his side to get another move, maguire does'nt have those privileges, no one's bidding that big on a 27 year old.

It will result in player agitation and probably transfer request if the stance remains stubborn on the clubs part. It's not a case where they aren't making a huge profit on him.

I’m not saying I think buying a cab does solve our overall defence, but the club must have some logic, I doubt they are randomly chasing maguire.

In terms of Maguire being 4th choice, I think we enquired about de ligt, koulibaly and diop. Two wc players, one talented young pl and got rebuffed on all of them.

how much profit we stand to make is completely irrelevant, you lot are blocking Lukaku's career path, a player you are actively trying to sell, but I don't see United fans saying you should drop your asking price.

If he hands in a transfer request so be it, its just that a request it still wouldn't mean we had to sell simply that he is officially asking for it and foregoing his loyalty bonus.

Oh and by the way Zaha is older than Maguire

The only straws around here are the ones you are clutching at, greedy...... when you decide which career path you want to take please don't let it be business related.

The bolded part is not actually true. Ole wanted to keep him but did not see him as his first choice and so Lukaku decided to agitate for a move however he has not submitted a transfer request. Our position has been much the same as yours with Maguire, we have a valuation and if it is met he can go but if not the lardy arsed donkey can stay and fight for his place.

thanks for the correction but the rest of my point still stands

As well as signing Lindelof for £40m the same season Maguire was available for £16m soon after man of the match performances against us.

Its not irrelevant at all. It's a business.

We were making loss on Lukaku when strikers are being sold for 100m 120m 160m in this market, our price set for him is a no profit no loss stance which is completely fair for him, it's just that inter being ffp bound want to purchase the player they can't afford.

And no way we are blocking lukaku's career trajectory:lol:. He blocked his own trajectory by becoming so lazy and being found out that he can't get into first team as a regular. There are lots of clubs other than inter who Can afford to pay 75 m, Latest juventus reports are even better for him than inter and better for all parties if dybala agrees.

Ed Woodward for you.

I do so hope this one comes to fruition. Reckon he would be the missing link for the defence for a few years to come.

Add another 10m to your price for Lindelof to make us look stupid for not buying Maguire why don’t you. Lindelof cost us 30m mate.

Why didn't United take a punt on him when he left Hull back in 2017?

This is one of the signs to start making things happen.

In five months we could have another defender injured.

I have a £50 bet riding on this transfer, I have bet he won't join us but after seeing that Bailey is out for 5 months ........ I'm still.not worried , we won't bid more the 70m for him and strange how it all seems quite now
