Probably a combination of the fact he isn't that good, regularly misses games with constant injuries and they know United would most likely overvalue him.

Got to consider the market though. If peak Ronaldo was sold now the bidding would probably start at 300m and that is being conservative. Juve paid 100m for him at 33 which is fecking mental.

He's untested at CB in the PL, it'd be a mad gamble when we can't afford another year outside the CL.

My issue wouldn't be not getting Maguire, my issue is that we wouldn't sign a CB at all, aside from Diop we've been linked with barely any other CBs this window. £90m is an absolute joke of a price, I think if Leicester aren't lowering their asking fee then it's time to look elswhere.
I watched Tuanzebe a lot last season, he looks good, a big upgrade on Jones, Smalling or Bailly. I know PL is different but he really looked so comfortable at Villa.

Having said that I don’t disagree with what you are saying. CB is the source of so many of our problems.

By doing that you are guaranteeing Smalling and Jones starting quite a few games this season. We already have a terrible injury history with Jones, Rojo and Bailly. The last thing we want is another CB with weak knees
I think Gundogan came back from worse injuries than Umtiti. If it was that serious, Barca would be dying to get him off the books sooner rather than later.
