I'm not sure what your point is at all and we are miles off topic.
I was responding to someone who suggested he was a nice guy who wasn't capable of laying down the law in relation to the Maguire situation.
You're now claiming I said he was ruthless.
One of the examples I used of him not being a nice guy was that he moved people on who he didn't want at the club.
You then started talking about two other players who's contracts were extended being less useful than those he got rid of. This seemed completely irelevant to me and even further from the topic at hand.
I then suggested that if you wanted to complain about the manager that you should go to one of those threads and do it there.
You've yet to actually say anything to prove that he is a nice guy who's unable to deal with the Maguire situation.

I see no reason as to why he cannot still remain the captain on the pitch. By all means replace him as club captain if you want to protect your ‘image’ but this takes nothing away from his ability to be a captain on the pitch or as a leader of a football team.

I'm certain the club will wait until his appeal before doing anything. The England deselection is a nonsense, he'll be back in should his appeal be fine - you can understand why Southgate had to drop him

He would have listened to what he had to say and backed him, like he backed numerous players down the years for all sorts of things. That is why players ran through a brick wall for him.
Right decision to withdraw him, I guess Southgate wanted to show support for his players, but once he was found guilty he really needed to be withdrawn.

It does not necessarily have to be corruption in the way that they would take his money (if you want to bribe the policy, it´s better done in a dark corridor anyway, not right outside the police station...), but if they were insulted, they might retaliate in a way that is perhaps not supported by the law ("hi, you called us idiots... we´ll show you..."). I have absolutely no basis for claiming this is what happened, I´m just making the point that corrupt act by the police can involve other things than bribery.

It's not the same case, Maguire wasn't judged the same day. In the example that I gave you Maguire would have been judged on Friday or even Thursday depending on when he was arrested that day. And the issue with your comment and others is that none of us know why it was rejected and what we are talking about from a procedural standpoint. And the Law is procedural, if you don't know what procedure is being used and if it has been used appropriately. And it's pointless making comparisons when you don't know what you are comparing, you don't have enough informations to do that.

Even so, I fail to see how the club extending contracts of players who weren't sold, which seems to be a financial policy, means he's being lenient but there we are.
My main point was there's little basis in this nice guy image from what I can see and yes as you say this situation will be dealt with by the club as a whole and I don't think there'll be any issues with how the manager deals with it.

Accused of kicking a woman in a bar before the 99 FA Cup final. He sought help for his drinking. He got in a many scrapes by his own admission but they never came out publicly.
Maguire could be more justified in resorting to violence than Cantona was.
Plausibly if the police failed to identify themselves as police, and the van took them somewhere they were not expecting after one of them was drugged and then grabbed them as they got out of the van, they could reasonably believe that they were being abducted to be ransomed.
