This is no longer ifs and buts. The incidents sound very plausible. He was very angry with the police for whatever reason, and then acted out. I believe the Greece police and the court. He was found guilty.
Only evidence you have is a claim that "Greece is corrupt". If the police were so corrupt, why didn't they accept the bribe? I find such claims quite xenophobic.

I would not hold out too much hope for the appeal process but regardless of whether Harry is innocent or guilty he has certainly acted like a fool.
Reputational damage to both Club and player has already been incurred which leaves Ed/Ole with a dilemma.
Think Harry may well voluntarily relinquish the captaincy in the meantime.

Not really. Spurs player Dier confronted the fan, Cantona kung fu kicked him.:)
Both incidents could have triggered crowd trouble though.

And the issue with your comment and others is that none of us know why it was rejected and what we are talking about from a procedural standpoint. And the Law is procedural, if you don't know what procedure is being used and if it has been used appropriately. And it's pointless making comparisons when you don't know what you are comparing, you don't have enough informations to do that.

After discussing it with you and a couple of other lawyers, I still haven’t been convinced that it isn’t strange.

Some of the most dramatic moments in the courtroom came when Morley, aged 27, a quantity surveyor, said the group thought they were going to be kidnapped by men chasing them in cars behind the mini-van. “Our bus door opened and five or six males tried to force us off by physically pulling us,” he said recounting the scenes and fear that they were about to be “held at ransom”.

This will be forgotten in a few weeks, he'll still be captain, and still play for England.

If he wasn't a United player it probably wpuldn't make the news.
 
Can't really judge given we don't know the circumstances but it's almost an unwritten rule to avoid public confrontation when your in a country outside your own nation. Have heard horror stories of tourists in Dubai going through similar situations and being stung by the strict legal standards.

Maybe you´re right, but the court case is appealed, don´t forget and the last word is not said. We´ll still get to hear Maguire´s version of it (and his sister´s, and his friend´s). Will be interesting to see.

No, I'm saying that nobody in this thread should take a side without more informations. We can speculate and discuss the case but we can't talk with certainty about it, we don't know what Maguire did or didn't do, we don't know what his lawyers did or didn't do. An other thing that is very important, lawyers and judges mess up all the time by failling to follow due process, it's not fishy or dodgy they are just fallible, that's an other reason why from the outside you can't judge that case without more information.
 
Well, this was not good news at all. I think, with everything on the table, ManUtd as a club has serious discusions infront of them about several things regarding Maguire.

I note there is some upset about Greece. People calling Greece justice system a scam have to understand that "western" system isn't always the best one.
 
I've never heard of a legal system working this quickly in my life. Quite fishy if you ask me.

What are you on about?

He shouldn't have been there in the first place! Shouldn't have gone to a public place on a holiday. He could easily afford a private location for family and friends.

Instead he want in a confined bar during a global pandemic. He has increased his risk of getting into trouble, contracting covid and passing it on to United team mates. There are video clips of him pissed up, wandering around bars in Greece having selfies and slapping fans on the back ffs.
 
Didn’t mean to put them quotes on but totally agree on the first second is a bit rash the 3rd certainly ain’t from a united fan so feck off on to rawk
 
Thing i cant get my head around is they took some form of transport for his sister who apparently feinted, asked to be taken to a hospital and ended up at a police station and apparently offered bribes to be let go, but they werent under arrest? this whole thing smells of total bullshit.
