Harry Redknapp seems to have changed his mind.
Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp believes a £45m offer from Manchester United could tempt Daniel Levy into selling Harry Kane.
Kane, 21, has become one of United's targets for the summer transfer window,
according to Sky Sports, with the
Manchester Evening News suggesting the club's chief executive Ed Woodward is ready to bid as high as £50m for the England international.
The Spurs striker recently told Sky Sports he is happy at White Hart Lane and has no desire to leave this summer.
But Redknapp, who managed the north London side between 2008-2012, says Spurs chairman Daniel Levy may listen to offers should one come in that exceeds his valuation of the player.
"The rumours are that Manchester United are interested in Harry Kane and while it would be a good move for the player it would be a disaster for Spurs,"
Redknapp wrote on Kicca.
"If they were to sell their best player – the one shining light from last season – then what message would it send to the fans? The club have to keep their best players if they are to progress.
"But if United were to put in a £45m bid I reckon Daniel [Levy] will look at it in the cold light of day and if he thinks Kane isn't worth amount of money then I can see him doing the deal.
"But if he was to leave then it would be a terrible signal to send to the fans."
Kane, who turned 21 while making 34 Premier League appearances for Tottenham in the 2014-15 season, is currently on international duty at the Under-21 European Championship in the Czech Republic but reiterated his desire to remain at Tottenham, following England's 1-0 defeat to Portugal.
"
Of course I have been watching Sky Sports and have seen the interest," he told Sky Sports.
"But I am happy at Spurs and I look forward to the future with Spurs. I have seen there is interest but that's all I know. It is flattering for other clubs to maybe be interested.
"Tottenham are a big club and that's how people have got to see it. I'm at a big club now and enjoying my football looking forward to next season at White Hart Lane."
