Harry Kane MBE | Performances

Just caught the highlights, he missed or messed up so many good opportunities.

He was far too casual yesterday, he was playing like the result was a formality.

With an attitude like that he wouldnt make it at a big club anyway so he is better off at Spuds.

What? The guy was out for about a month and a half and has come back and scored in four out of five games. He could still end up top scorer in the Premier League even with the injury.

Not sure where you get he would not work at a top club from yesterday's game.

Spurs seem to be a lot better without Kane dropping so deep to pick up the ball

"Not afraid to tell my daughters I love them"

Well obviously. I mean They're not gonna claim your goals if you tell them that, are They?

It's bad enough that he sounds a bit simple. But then they zoom in on his face looking stupidly gormless.

He could and should of had a bag full yesterday, one goal and they hit the woodwork twice.
Pochettino, said of the team in general, that they were complacent and arrogant.

How about responding to the actual post you quoted rather than a completely different point youve made up yourself.

They do, and thats a problem with him, They play a lot better with him pushing up top and playing as an out an out forward waiting for service than they do where he takes it upon himself to try and be some kind of early 00s super striker.

However it was the way he was going about his play yesterday overall that let him down, for me anyway, it was a very casual “its only southampton and theres nothing to really play for anyway” kind of performance.

The through ball to Sancho for the first goal is a perfect example of why Kane is better than Shearer to me.

His link up play is at another level. He’s absolutely ideal as a withdrawn centre forward in Southgate’s 4-3-3 system.

Harry Kane plans to end sporting career as NFL kicker

"It's something I definitely want to try," says England captain Kane, who is inspired by Tom Brady; watch Tottenham's PL game at Liverpool live on Sky Sports on Sunday

Harry Kane has revealed his plans to swap football for American football, and end his sporting career as a kicker in the NFL.

The England captain has made no secret of his passion for the US sport - he attended the Super Bowl in February and named his pet dogs after quarterbacks Tom Brady and Russell Wilson.

n an interview with ESPN, Kane insisted he has a genuine wish to move across the pond and start over as a kicker, the player responsible for kicking the ball for field goals and extra points.

However, he insisted that his move would not be motivated by money - kickers are among the lowest-paid players in the NFL - but purely by the drive to succeed in different disciplines.

"That's real, [it's] something that in 10 or 12 years, I definitely want to try," he said.

"It goes back to that drive to be the best. Even if I download a game on my phone, can I be the best in the world?

"If you play in the Premier League and the World Cup, and you then play in the NFL, would you then be considered one of the greatest sportsmen ever?"

Yes, no mention of winning the Premier League, the World Cup or the NFL. Just playing in them makes you the greatest sportsmen ever - similar to how playing at their new eggshell stadium makes Spurs the greatest football club ever.

What a guy!

How about winning a single trophy before talking about moving sports?

I still wonder how much stick a United player would have got for missing that sitter/not crossing it, when 1-0 up in the world cup semi.
Noone even mentioned it! Despite it being a goal that would have got us to only our 2nd ever world cup final.

Better than Shearer?
Steady on.

Are you old enough to have watched Shearer?

He’s closer to - and not necessarily better than - Andy Cole.

Levy loves Kane so much, he built him an NFL stadium. Greatest chairman of all time !

If that makes him

different

he'll choose different ev er y time

That made me laugh. It is so very epic, then the product reveal typically enough is anticlimactic, cause well, it is just razors and the man himself haven't shaved!
The epic visual metaphor where they try to convey that he is standing on top of the world with the big city behind him, combining that idea with him being a footballer and the idea of "being different" is very funny. It is just ridiculous to stand on top of the crossbar, what is that even supposed to mean:lol: Do weird stuff, Harry Kane! He certainly shouldn't be using those razors in any risky situation like that.

He has daughters? Pftt, a man makes a lad. And to say he loves them instead of disowning them? What a softie.
Oh Micheal, not again:lol:

Next, he will be standing on the cockerel on top of their new (bestest ever) stadium.

Yeah, I watched Shearer at his peak and Kane is a better footballer. I’m old enough to remember that the early Premier League when Shearer was at his best was far from an elite competition.

The Andy Cole shout is an absolute joke. It seems like people don’t actually watch Kane, the guy is an all-round centre forward.

So was Cole.

Also : WC 98 started and L’Equipe carried a four page section on whether Ronaldo, Batistuta, Shearer or Del Piero was the best CF in the world. It was a genuine conversation.

He’s a bellend as a pundit, but Shearer was far better than Kane.

And right now Kane is in a genuine conversation for best striker in the world and has been in that conversation for a while. Not that it means that he is the best, but ESPN ranked him #1.

As an out and out CF people are going to have their preferences. He should definitely be in the conversation, Benzema has been ok I guess, Mbappe is on the rise. Icardi is having a bit of an off season, his previous four have been great, Aubemayang is having a good campaign.

But who is in the conversation for best CF? Kane, Lewandowski, Aguero? And what is the criteria? If we are talking just this season Mbappe would be in the conversation, but he needs to replicate that kind of form year in year out to be considered alongside these other three no?

Cavani usually plays as a CF for PSG even though Mbappe did it in the CL against you guys. I wouldn't personally consider him as a CF just as I wouldn't consider Hazard as one although both have played there.

For me, the best CFs are Kane, Aguero, Lewandovski, Cavani and Suarez (In no particular order), I personally think Kane is the best, but I can understand why people may consider someone else to be better than him.

edit: agree with you that Benzema has been surprisingly good this season though. I personally thought he was finished at the top level after last season.

Aguero is a cut above (his career has just been ridiculous), but I'd take Kane over Lewa/Auba/Icardi without hesitation. He's a top quality player, despite being a bit of a wally.
