Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

No brainer which one to choose between Bayern and United

For him to come to united we would have to go in with an eye watering sum of money. Record breaking probably. And even that isn’t a given with levy. Kane would have to kick up a stink (which he won’t) For a player with a year left on his contract and FFP it looks unlikely. January might be a better option. Jan for 60mil or he leaves in may for 0.

The only explanation for Levy’s not for sale stance is that Kane hasn’t told Spurs he’s definitely not renewing.

Sadly other than £ we could offer nothing else

The allure of being part of the squad that takes United back to the top will be strong.

If HK came to United and won a PL in his time that would be the greatest achievement with a longer lasting effect than anything Bayern could offer.

What happened to Real Madrid? Was he outpriced ? Or was it the fact mbappe could be up for grabs?

There also talk that Mbappe and PSG are close to reaching an agreement regarding an exit so they're likely leaving their options open in the event of that this summer

Or he’s really not for sale. Or he's trying to
safe face in front of the fans. Trying to show them he did whatever he could.

Just a theory I've been pondering...
If we sign Mount & Onana under the Glazers, then the Sheikh takes the reigns, he'd want to sign an elite marquee striker wouldn't he..?

The PL is obviously more competitive than our league. But I wouldn’t use that competitiveness as an advertisement. City won 5 out of the last 6. That‘s not great either. Italy and Spain are the leagues to go to for that.

The PL is probably the most competitive league there is. Barcelona, who won the title couldn't even make it out the CL groups. I dont see City, Liverpool not making it out their respective CL groups.

I think we could do a deal with 85-90 + add-ons. A hefty price but might be a better deal than spending 50m on a young untested striker who might flop and us missing out on CL
Agree it's a no brainer for me tbh. Call me crazy but I have said in this thread we'd have a chance at the title next season with Kane. Of course the chance is quite small but that's how good I think he is and how much I believe in ETH. That alone should worth the 40-50m difference imo.

When was last time a different team won the Bundesliga?

Liverpool won the PL 3 years ago.
They shouldn’t have won it this year, you can’t get more competitive than winning it on the final day. I’m not saying it’s not a one sided league though, I’m saying that ours is too. If you’re not at city, your chances of winning anything domestically are slim to none right now.

Overall more competitive and entertaining, sure. But that doesn’t come into a player’s thinking, does it?

The fact that Bayern can be bad that they need a managerial change, get battered by City in the CL and still win the league, shows the level.

The reason City win it is because they are better than everyone else... by a mile. They also show that in Europe, they consistently get to the Semi's and Finals of the CL.

Yeah I agree with that. Our defensive record was quite good. If Masan and Kane were to add 30+ goals a title challenge isn’t ridiculous.

Initially I thought buying Kane was a bad deal but the quoted prices for alternative targets are so absurd might as well go all in.
Kane at least guarantees goals. It really is a no brainer if we have the budget.

Totally agree but who is Masan?

And Kane doesn't only guarantee goals he'll elevate our forwards to another level with his passing and hold up ability I reckon.

Tbh I know the chance is slim but we should fight tooth and nail for Kane. The fact Bayern and Madrid all chasing him speak volumes imo. Right now he's the only proven top #9 available for ~100m. I really want him here what a shame if we don't at least try.

Mason Mount poor bloke already forgotten :lol:
Reckon Mount has the potential to score 10+ goals for us. Add Kane in the mix along with Rashford, Bruno and Antony, suddenly attack looks half decent.

Yeah we need to put a solid bid in more than Bayern if Spurs tell us to feck off well fair enough we gave it a go.

I just can't see him being sold this summer, not to another PL club. The path of least resistance for Kane would be to see out his contract with the best wishes of Spurs fans and go elsewhere on his own terms to win a few titles, almost the way Teddy Sheringham did it. The fact that Spurs have failed to plan for his departure, or his decline, is all on them.

It's not crazy at all - I recall around the time of the League Cup final we were within reach of Citeh... with Weghorst up top.

Ok I see mate wonder for a while who is this new lad Masan

Yeah the chance is quite small but who would have thought Arsenal would challenge a bit for the title last season. If we have Kane and have a good start anything is possible imo. Then the recent rumours about burnouts and lack of motivation at City ... One can dream I guess :D

Why are you so sure?
We are still very attractive to players and even more to English players. And Kane would rather have a go at winning the PL than moving to Germany and winning a Bundesliga title with a team which has won the previous 11. You can disagree but I am 100% sure if it was Kane’s decision alone he would choose us. And that’s even before the ETH effect. Now if you have him as well and believe he is a very good manager and we are on the way up then it would be even more a certainty (Kane choosing us).

"Kane would rather have a go at winning the PL than moving to Germany and winning a Bundesliga title " 100% true, I would not doubt that but hes not realistically going to win it with us and hes guaranteed it with Bayern. He would also want to compete for the CL and though they wouldn't be favourites or anything, its still a possibility with Bayern.

We do not have the pull we used to, there are teams that just have more pull than us and I think Bayern have as much as we do.

He won't be able to do anything until January

Why not? Didn't he go on strike a couple of years ago already?

Do you think Kane has made a gentleman's agreement with Levy?

There is as close to 0% chance that Kane stays at Spurs. Why would he?

Not a direct reply...but Kane and Mbappe would work very well together.

Mbappe made a stink about playing up top at PSG correct? so at Real he would be looking at Vini's spot leaving Kane up top, but allow Kane to drop off and pink balls over to Mbappe.

Sexy football...but I'm getting off topic feck Madrid! come to United Kane

Yeah, it’s the same as the Kane-Rashford combo. Will be insane numbers for both players if either of those partnerships happens.

Bayern link can get as strong as it likes, I just can’t see him leaving PL. He clearly wants Shearer’s record.

I’m sure he’d prefer to stay for a year, and then join Chelsea/United/Newcastle/Liverpool next summer.

So what should we do about striker until then

I believe that as well and don't really see him coming to Bayern.

But is this "most league goals since 1992" really such a big deal? There was football before the PL in Britain and others have scored more goals in it than Shearer.

I still have this funny feeling we’re gonna be in for him towards the end of the window

I'm inclined to agree.
Kane could become the all time Premier League top goalscorer in the next couple of seasons, I'm really not at all convinced that he will walk away from that.
