Haha Newcastle

Excellent signing for Newcastle.

Those laughing at the fact he isn’t giddily grinning and goofing around in PR vids might be in for a shock when he settles into that team and they realise he’s just a serious no nonsense character and a great player.

His signing will also free up Bruno G as well making them more dangerous and much more difficult to play against.

Best PL signing of the Summer thus far more for me imo. Unless I’m forgetting anyone.

This didn't age too well.

Milan are laughing all the way to the bank with this us. Tonali funnily enough played like shit vs Milan this season too. No one should be surprised if he ends up back at Milan

He will. He’s the equivalent of the Robinho to City signing. He had no interest in moving from Milan to fecking Newcastle, and was just a dick swinging exhibition from the Geordies’ new overlords.

Why are they creating a fake rivalry with us. Is it because of the Keegan Rant in 96? On social media they always jumping on us after every game

Be it PL titles, FA Cup Finals, or League Cups, we are seemingly always the one that prevents them winning. They see the tables turning now because they have money.

What makes me laugh is their insistence they were always there even when their team was shit. They used to pull that bollocks in the 90s too.

[on Trippier]
12m? Weren’t we being quoted 40 in the summer?
Got to look after the FFP. Expect half the clubs Newcastle buy from for under market value to have nice cushy sponsorship deals with Aramco next year.

That's numberwang.

People including pundits literally saying Newcastle could win the CL this season after the 4-1 against PSG because there's no other good teams at the moment except Man City

I don't think anyone expected Howe having just 12 senior outfield players when going to Westfalen and that 12 includes kids like Livramento and Hall. And most of those that were available have been playing way too much football this season or are just back from injury themselves.

The same Livramento that cost 40million and was southampton's best defender and one of the best RB's in the league last season? Bit of a joke just referring to him as some "kid". He'd start for most prem clubs.

Those kids cost 70 million.

If you guys want to mock them you should start with their away fans.

He's played less than half a dozen games of football in 18 months, and only had a season under his belt for a very poor side before that. Maybe not a "kid" but hardly an elite, proven, experienced fullback either, despite how good his performances have been for us so far.

There are obvious injury issues at the moment, it would be disingenuous to pretend otherwise. Yesterday we had one fit striker who can only play 60 minutes at most, 2 keepers on the bench, 3 guys from the academy, and 3 unfilled matchday squad spaces.

Without being all "tiny violin" about it, it's obviously a tough ask to go to Dortmund and get a result in those circumstances, I seriously doubt most clubs in the premier league would and no Newcastle fan is embarrassed about our performance.

Can't disagree with this. Our away support is not what it used to be.

I don't know if it's that a lot of working class fans just can't get tickets due to our new ticketing system, or are priced out of it due to the recession, but there's a lot of management types and rich kids in our away flock these days, who seem to prioritise being drugged or drunk to the point where they can't function at the match. It's embarrassing tbh.

He really impressed you in those 26 minutes last season.

But fair enough, kid was probably too far but he isn't exactly experienced in CL level either especially as a right forward where he started. Hate to use injuries as an excuse but this is really bad right now. Squad is thin and many rightly questioned how we could deal with CL on top of everything else but most of the injuries are freak injuries and not really related to the fixture congestion. And then there's the Tonali mess.

I mean i was thinking more his 28 starts in the prem before he got injured.

Was the previous season tbf, not last season per your post.

Doesn't really matter does it? Fact is he's not some untested kid as you're trying to make out. Hence why you spunked 40million pounds for a backup RB

Their style is a bit suicidal as well. Very aggressive running. It was always going to be tough sustaining that when you’re playing twice a week.

£40m is about the price you pay for potential nowadays to be fair. He's tested but not at the highest level, and there's no saying how good a young player will be after a severe ACL injury.

Worth pointing out that he was also playing right forward from the start last night due to how short we are on players, it's not even like he was playing in his natural role.

Didn’t even have the decency to shake that fan’s hand like a gentleman. Stay classy Tripper

It’s funny watching them crumble, below us in the table despite us being at rock bottom.

WTF was the fan moaning about? Entitled pricks.

The money should already have them at least a trophy and be nipping at City’s heels.
To be fair it was a shocking performance. Newcastle are clearly big game raisers this season and aren’t putting in the effort they once did

It's good to see them doing shit, I don't like their stadium and their fans, but they aren't even that bad. They had lot of good and impressive games this seaaon.

They took City out of the cup just few weeks ago. And considering their investment, they finished 11th just two seasons ago, and 12th season before that. They have clearly improved a lot.

 I think this would wind me up more than the result/performance. Imagine one of our players coming over to the fans to complain about the injuries after we can't beat a team who couldn't even afford any of the players who we had missing

Aye, we’ve had our fair share of injury issues all season, yet not an excuse or peep from the club. We’re above this lot but we’re the club in crisis and all you can hear now is the amount of injuries they have
