Guess the next World Record Transfer

Summer 2017

Griezzman

United

His buyout is now 150m.

Next summer we will go big for Saul and Griezmman.

Dybala or Griez
Manchester United
Summer 2017

Dembele
Manchester United
Summer 2019

I've got a feeling this new record will fall quite quickly - Real always seemed to have this odd pride in holding the record all these years, so I expect Perez will be desperate to get that back at the first opportunity.

I'll guess Hazard to Real next summer, based on him having a better season than last season (can't get much worse), and Real not being banned from the market next summer. If they are banned, then the Pogba record should stand until summer 2018 when Real are back in the game.

Don't think anyone coming from Germany (especially Dortmund) would break a world record.

WR for a defender: 2017 Giminez > United £60m.
WR: 2018 Martial > Madrid £120m.

Looking at the World Record Players since 1990, you see where the money is.

1990: Roberto Baggio, Fiorentina – Juventus ITALY
1992: Jean-Pierre Papin, Marseille - Milan, £10m ITALY
1992: Gianluca Vialli, Sampdoria - Juventus, £12m ITALY
1992: Gianluigi Lentini, Torino - AC Milan, £13m ITALY
1996: Ronaldo, PSV Eindhoven - Barcelona, £13.2m SPAIN
1996: Alan Shearer, Blackburn Rovers - Newcastle United, £15m ENGLAND
1997: Ronaldo, Barcelona - Inter Milan, £19.5m ITALY
1998: Denilson, Sao Paulo - Real Betis, £21.5m SPAIN
1999: Christian Vieri, Lazio - Inter Milan, £32.1m ITALY
2000: Hernan Crespo, Parma - Lazio, £35.5m ITALY
2000: Luis Figo, Barcelona - Real Madrid, £37m SPAIN
2001: Zinedine Zidane, Juventus - Real Madrid, £46.6m SPAIN
2009: Kaka, AC Milan - Real Madrid, £56m SPAIN
2009: Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United - Real Madrid, £80m SPAIN
2013: Gareth Bale, Tottenham - Real Madrid, £86m SPAIN

The 90ies: Italy broke the world record again and again.
The 00ies: Spain broke the world record again and again.
The 10ies and 20ies: England will do it (and Real will fight back because of... being a circus.)
Then China or so.

So my guess:
Griezmann to City.
Kane to Madrid.
Neymar to City.
Müller to United.

Honestly, I have no clue. 4 years ago, nearly no one would have said Pogba.

It's remarkable how long the Zidane fee remained a record in hindsight.

Most likely Neymar next summer with a bidding war between United, City and PSG.
I can see Neymar leaving at some point too. With his constant links and his dad yapping, he might be more interested in a big pay cheque. Can see PSG coming in for him. City maybe even?

Definitely, it seems it came at a time when prices otherwise weren't getting inflated as a result. No big rich owners throwing money about. Incredible now when you think of it.

Why was Ronaldo sold to Inter anyway? Wasn't he incredible for Barca?

The way the Chinese are going I wouldn't bet against it being a player to there next year.

Why some of you guys think that Pogba will move to Real in a couple of years? He seems to be genuinely happy to be back home, and I am sure under Mou we will improve quality-wise. We also have a terrific CEO in Ed, so United will soon become the ultimate club.

Kane or Hazard. Summer 2017.

Can't see us or City letting anyone go. Nor can I see any Arsenal player making a transfer above £70m now.

We would be favourites. A £110m bid and we'd probably get it done.

Dybala
Barcelona
£98.4m

Yep and now big TV money and increased focus on Asian and US markets, equals big bucks.

Rooney to China for £130 million in December or whenever their window opens......

Lazio paid £35.5m for Crespo back in 2000.

That's 16 years ago, and it's still more than Liverpool's record transfer.

Liverpool:lol:, they must be ranging seeing the cash we have to throw around :p

Almost all the big Italian clubs had rich owners buying players.

I can't see any of the mentioned names breaking the record tbh, they will command big fees but the marketability, youth and skillset of Pogba is very unique. A real superstar.

Verrati from psg in a couple years. I highly doubt we'd be after Neymar unless rashford or martial fail. More likely we'd try for dybala for rw.
