If it is true why would any club pay more than the clause. Would make no sense to pay a little extra even if other clubs are involved

I have to admit that there mood has defo changed around here since Pogba,and I'm loving it.... The first entry's to the thread are all Pogba to madrid or City, 2016,or Martial to Madrid 2019......(except for one true optimist)

A nice £10mil signing on fee for the Griez, a £10mil 'administrative' payment to the club etc.
Anyway like i said, i don't believe that clause.
 
The summer transfer window of 2018. James Wilson will return to United, who stump up just over £100m to get him back.
 
Real will shell £100m for Lewandoski next summer. Or possibly Dybala.

Apparently he has a release clause which is less than the world record transfer fee. (exchange rate aside).

Doesn't Griezmann have a €100m release clause? So unless the Pound Sterling drops further, I can't see his fee (even if Atletico demand his release clause) to reach the Pogba fee.

Yes he does. Skipped my mind ! :-)
I am not an expert on exchange rate but yeah don't think the pound will move that much. So this will not be the world record transfer that I made it out to be.
