Surely has to be Carvalho and Coentrao. Can anybody find Mata's first interview, he mentioned something about looking forward to playing with the summer signings as if it was a given that we'd signed players already.

I'd be happy with him, he's young, extremely talented, should fit into our team quite easily, and will improve us.
Ding him up ta feck.

Yeh, it's scary that some people believe that Carvalho would attract a straight fee of
Nothing is likely to be openly confirmed while the season is ongoing - unsettles the selling clubs, especially if they are high profile players at said club. I would imagine the club has learned its lesson from last year and is trying to get things tied up quickly.
No doubting that it's difficult to announce big deals during a season but if there was a big signing, I think there would be enough about for something to have been leaked.

Depends on the parties. You constantly here about deals in the offing - only for most not to materialise anyway. Most people therefore take any rumours or paper talk with a pinch of salt - unless and until there is an official announcement.

If any deals have been done now (and perhaps under negotiation since January) then its probably in everyone's best interests to keep it quiet.

I'm guessing Carvalho and Gundogan. In a witty turn of events, it seems that the Star might just have a few good contacts at United.

Daniel Taylor from The Guardian is very reliable when it comes to United. I always pay attention to what he writes about us. Seems to have a pretty good relationship with Ed from what i hear too.. I tend to believe what he writes, its always well written & reserached!

Here's his article from yesterday, where the report that we've already secured 2 deals in principle came from. The deals are thought to be Carvalho & possibly Coentrao - hope the possible is Gundogan / Kroos though, Coentrao can wait a while longer as he seems dying to come here & Real are willing to off-load him...

"United are at least addressing the issue. This newspaper's information is that deals have already been provisionally agreed for two players in what promises to be an extensive recruitment programme over the summer. The club have deliberately tried to set up transfers six months in advance. Joel Glazer has been more hands-on than many people might realise, speaking to the executive vice chairman, Ed Woodward, three times a day on average from Florida and the club have been encouraged by the feedback from agents. Not once has there has been an indication that a player might be put off because of the prospect of playing in the Europa League next season.."

Carvalho and Barkley.

The rumours about Coleman aren't as firm as they were about Barkley earlier in the year. Iirc, there were sources close to Barkley and Everton who said it was a done deal for this Summer. And that was all the way back in January.

Didn't Barkley say that Martinez was more Tactical and much more of a positive manager than Moyes. He wouldn't say that if he was planning on coming to United IMO

I'd be pretty surprised if it was Barkley given his comments about Moyes the other week.

Barkley is exactly what we don't need right now. We need proven quality in midfield, not a very raw Wayne Rooney.

Inb4 it turns out we've signed some random South American winger no one's heard of and Phil Jagielka.

There is not a chance one of the players being referred to by DT is Barkley.

Carvalho and Gundogan are my guesses.

We've needed a CM and a LB for, what, three years now? Would be nice to finally do those deals, hairy foul-machines notwithstanding.

On a scale from Messi and Ronaldo to Osman and Anichebe, how underwhelming will this turn out to be?

Maybe not £37m, but Porto are unbelievable at getting monster fees for their players.

He plays for Sporting, unless you're making another point. I haven't read back so i might be reading that out of context.

Glad to see we are becoming much more proactive in our dealing. I would guess one of the players is Carvalho, while the other is either Gündogan or Kroos. In previous administration, I would go into this summer anticipating that City, Monaco or Madrid will try to steal Carvalho under our nose. However, I am feeling confident about our interest and aquisition of this target. It will amazing, if it is none of the players once rumored. Instead, it is Osman and Coleman.

First off stfu about Osman and secondly Coleman is in a much better class of player than Osman

One of them will be Coantrao and the other will be one of Carvalho/Gundogan. I don't think that we're going to sign Kroos, Bayern would be insane to let him go.

He could be thinkin of Porto's CB Mangina.. sorry Mangala...

Or he could be just stating that the likes of Sporting, Porto & Benfica get really good dosh for their quality players. Alot of Porto's deals are 3rd party ownership though, so the price always seems to increase because of all the fingers in the pie...

Sporting have a brilliant conveyor-belt of top-class soccer-ballers. They just seem to sell & then another gem pops up...

If he brings another Everton players with him.....

Please for the love of football gods, imagine the muppet suicides

I don't know why but I have a disturbing feeling that Everton might be after Hernandez in the Summer, with Moyes wanting Jagielka or Coleman as part of the deal.

Unless he wants to spend the rest of his career there, they should be a non factor regardless.
Pretty easy for sporting to reject 20m from us and accept 37 million from monaco. Doubt he'd say no if they offer him 100k a week vs saying at sporting. Players move to Monaco you know it does happen

It does happen ofcourse, that Kondogbia dude moved there recently. I just hope it doesnt happen with him.

I wish we didn't have to pay the buy out but with teams like city and monaco sniffing around.. is it worth taking a risk and just wrapping the deal up? I just don't know enough about the player, hopefully Moyes scouts have a great idea of how good he is by now

You're asking the wrong man, barely seen the guy play. There's someone, (Rozay?) who actually went to see him live to scout.
