Granit "The Hacker" Xhaka | Likes his reds

I'm not asking him to be hanged, just give a couple of slaps for being a cnut.

I never said you were mate - was just pointing out that he's being roundly condemned before we know for sure that he said what he was alleged to have said

In most of these cases I tend to think that the racist language is being used as a shortcut to causing the most offence. It's not about a genuine belief that anybody's inherently better or worse because of ethnic origin or anything else, it's just meant to be as hurtful as possible. So really I think the likes of Suarez (and Xhaka if he has indeed done this) are probably just dickheads who are prepared to go really low as opposed to actual racists.

A person who seeks to cause the most insult by including race isn't an actual racist?
They obviously see being of that race something less which is why they feel saying it could cause offence.

He is muslim. He is the type of wannabe-badboy-arab muslim. I know quite a few of them myself, since a lot of Turkish people live where i am (quite some Kosovo Albanians as well, for that matter). Gladly they are in the vast minority, but it is a destinct type of person. Bourne in Germany, raised "western", but a huge need to showcase that he is not a "weak white pussy", but a real Arab-gangster that could "go to war" immediately (of course speaking not a single word Arabic, and broken Turkish).
Xhaka strikes me as the same type of person, probably being 95% Germanic/Slavic from origin, but bourne in what is called Kosovo today, where most people are muslim. Since he has no Arabic characteristics what so ever, i guess his need to showcase that he is a Muslim badboy, and no "white pussy" is even greater, and there is the origin of those kind of overbearing speaks.
That place would be a howling wilderness today without "weak white pussy" intervention. That said, I'm starting to take to Xhaka. There aren't really many proper hateable footballers in the PL. This utter berk could fit the bill.

Xhaka's from the Balcans, racially abusing someone isn't even a felony here to be fair (I know it's wrong and many young people get that nowadays). But it baffles me how someone from Albanian origin can racially abuse anyone because they find it offendable if someone shouts at them "shiptar", "shqiptar" etc. He should know best and mind his language.

Brainfart of a player. Remember him saying he is a leader because his parents would give him the house keys or some shit like that?

I was a big fan of Xhaka at 'gladbach, but he's found himself miles away from his comfort zone since signing for Arsenal.

His discipline record has always been a concern.

I didn't even think he was that good there. Always preferred Kramer to him.

Never watched him in Germany but he was always highly rated. He's looked terrible since he joined Arsenal.

Different types of player though.

I thought Xhaka's aggression would give them some extra steel, but he hasn't channeled it in the right manner.

Arsenal's midfield isn't settled either. Xhaka, Ramsey and Cazorla in a midfield three could have potential.

I rated him at Gladbach. He was a player that could sit and defend and had a great range of passing beyond most defensive CM's. But yes, he's been a flop.

Remember back when our resident Arse fans were bullish in this thread, comparing him with Pogba etc.

Yep, they are different types, but I mean I thought Kramer was the better player, and would've been more suited to Arsenal than Xhaka, but still wouldn't have thought he (Kramer) would've been the best option for them, never mind Xhaka.

Though, he may still come good. As you said, they needs settled midfield and, if they do get that (though with Wenger I doubt it), he might grow into a decent player. I wouldn't expect that, though.

Have to agree with plenty here: I didn't watch him at Gladbach but always heard he was highly rated. The version of him I've seen at Arsenal is hilariously bad.

Same here.

But it has to be said that he needed a lot of time to get going at Gladbach and was quite awful in the beginning. Lots of stupid fouls & cards, just as it is now. So maybe he just needs time to settle. On the other hand, he's much older now, so it's not a good sign that he has the exact same problems as his 20-year-old self.

I want to catch this guy in Portugal when Switzerland comes here to play, and I hope that we kill them on the pitch, because he is arrogant and doesn't show respect for the oposition.

I want to see more of him next to Cazorla rather than Coquelin. Coq is really bad. He's not that good defensively and he does nothing else on the pitch. 5 passes in 90 minutes and you're a CM.

He's a bit C.Ronaldo's look alike, but his arrogance even eclipses C.Ronaldo's while being much inferior player. Astonishing character.

He may have aggression but doesn't have the intensity of say Herrera. He reminds me a lot of Schneiderlin actually.

If we had bought him we'd never hear the end of how crap he's been. Papers would create worst top 10 lists just to drum home what a flop our signing has been. But big money flops from other clubs mostly go under the radar.

I thought he was a class in Germany, and predicted that he would be a brilliant signing for Arsenal, I was well off :wenger:
