Gaming Gran Turismo 7 (PS4/PS5) | Full game and online multiplayer confirmed in free PS VR2 update

I messed up big time on a mission last night for two reasons.

Had been playing all afternoon and was really enjoying doing some of the books and after a 5 hour session I decided I’d tackle the 30 laps around Tsukuba in the rain mission. Big mistake.

Well about 10 laps in my hands were absolutely killing me and I got my strategy completely wrong. Used a FWD 89’ BMW that I’d tuned up and liked driving and I got absolutely fecking mullered when the rain came

Went into the race having no idea I’d need to refuel and change tyres so I panicked like a total amateur.

My hand is still sore now and I only finished 14th so I have to do it all again but I’m thinking hard tyres are surely the way to go here and something with 4WD.

Might give it another crack after work!

Also that S-10 license. My got that was tough. Taking Eau Rouge in those conditions is so nerve wracking. Only spun off about 50 times

The Laguna Seca in the F1 care gave me loads of grief too. Hardly golded any of them yet either. That’s going to be an absolute pain on some of them, especially the rally stages. Absolutely hate them. The one in theactual rally car was impossible with the tyre issue which I didn’t know at the time. One of the most frustrating gaming moments I’ve ever had trying to get even bronze around that!

Laguna Seca is a really hard track to get right. The F1 car is tricky as you can take most corners at full speed which is scary to do the first time. The circuit experience in the Viper on that track is really tricky too, tried all of last night to gold it and kept messing up.

Once I got used to the formula car I actually really enjoyed it, I think that would be a fantastic car and track combo with a wheel.

The 90° left before the uphill into the corkscrew is the hardest corner to really nail on that licence test, you have to time the turn-in perfectly and just barely lift off the throttle before getting right back on it.

If you get that right and time your braking right into the final corner so you don’t lose traction accelerating out of it then you’ll be golden.

Oh and turn off TSC otherwise it bogs down too much
Off?! bravest i did was turning it down to 2/3 i think. Track was slippery and twisty enough. A solid lap of perfection but not going completely flat out was how i done it.

I hate TSC, it makes the car so sluggish out of slow corners and really takes off speed in long bends.

When you say slippery, are you talking about S-10? When I said off I meant the formula car in Laguna Seca, for S-10 I had TSC set to 1 as it was just not manageable with it off, but for most of the time I prefer it off.

Did I dream it or did that Laguna Seca license used to have boost enabled, I re-did it and it doesn't seem to be there.

If it was there I didn’t notice it.

I’ve not experienced boost yet actually, assuming you mean like an overtake button.

I swear it was there, definitely wasn’t when I re-did it. Went a fair whack faster with the wheel, be nice to get that car for all tracks.

Might be a dumb question.

If you’re in a race that needs a refuelling stop, what happens if you use an electric car?

Been spending the week at the online interlagos race and have loved it. Up to b driver rating.

Messed up my Tsukuba race once more when I had it in the bag. Used my Audi R8 and all was going well.

Had a 28 second lead but I should have changed to soft tyres on my pit stop and because I used too much fuel trying to battle with cars when I came back out and eventually ran out with half a lap left.

This race is sounding like a right bitch!

It’s in the Moby Dick missions.
Yeh took me three completed tries to do that, spent probably about two hours in total. Buckled and watched a youtube video of someone who completed it so i could know the ideal fuel saver settings and it was fine after that.

See I though I had cracked it. Came out of my only pitstop in 1st on hard tyres which lasted the whole race with little degradation.

The guys behind me pitted and put softs on and when it dried they started gaining as I tried to cruise round and I got into a battle and used too much fuel.

Managed to get the gap back to ~10 seconds with one lap to go but only had 0.5 laps if fuel left so I quickly pitted, came out second and fecked a corner up and came 3rd

Just gave it a try now, used the 2015 Evo with a few mods which put it at PP595 when on sport mediums so I didn’t have the option for softs which I don’t think would have helped much with so much being in the wet.

Finished 2nd and around 3 seconds off the lead after running out of fuel on the final bend and coasting across the finish line so one silver lining was “earning” the “running on empty” trophy

Will give it another go later, reckon it should be fairly achievable with some tidier driving rather than pushing too hard, now I know the AI pits quite late and your time deficit is exaggerated.

The number one worst part of the game is the rolling starts. Just why?

On some races youre 30-40 seconds behind before you even start :wenger:

Monza is the worst I have seen so far. Cars are at the top of the first bend before you start after already going through the first and second slow turns.

All the races feel more like passing missions due to it, along with it being very rare to see AI overtaking each other.

As another poster mentioned previously, you are required to use a faster car due to the gap that needs to be made up from the off.

Yeah my two main issues with the game, beyond mtx are the rolling starts over a qualifying and grid start (even a rolling grid would be fine), with balanced cars. The other is that every cup has the same named drivers in the same cars in the same liveries, so for example in the final cup you always battle at the front with a subaru and a Toyota. The lamborghini and mclaren never feature in the race. Would be easy to mix up competitiveness and liveries (where possible) in cups for variety, since there are so few of them.

Anyway this weeks daily races look good. The karting one is good fun.

100% should be able to hold circle to skip the countdown on those rolling starts so you're not wasting minutes of your evening over and over waiting to be able to play.

There are so many unnecessary steps that just waste your time in this game, why on earth would I want to watch a replay of a race I just participated in or once you’ve completed one license stage you have to click though a bunch more screens to do the next one.

Not sure how online works but most of them are rubbish.

I've raced 9 races so far in BOP

3x wins
1x second
2x thirds
2x fifths
1x sixth.

The latter three results only occured as I was literally on the end of the grid at dragon tail bop race last night.

I mean, I know im quick but thats absurd. Youd think there'd be a few more quick bois at my level.

What driver rating are you?
