Gaming Gran Turismo 7 (PS4/PS5) | Full game and online multiplayer confirmed in free PS VR2 update

Golded all licenses up to S as soon as they fixed the rally tyres. Not got the motivation to sit and grind the S at the moment. Enjoying the online lobby races more at the moment, restrictions usually make them pretty equal

I just tried that tonight after revisiting licences for the first time since the fixed the rally tyres.

I managed to complete the lap once and I think I was at 2:29

It’s joke, one false move and you’re off which makes you shit yourself so you go slower and miss out on the gold.

Got my first online win in gt7 sport tonight. The interlagos race. Didn't show on my profile as a win. And I won by 11 seconds and was pole. First win and pole. Bad times.

I did my S-10 tonight at last too after trying for over 5 hours over the course of the day. feck me that was a brutal time trial. One attempt and you stick a corner to perfection, next try and you do exactly the same but you go flying off

Random question, what camera views do we all choose and what is the correct one? My best mate will only play on the view behind the car, where as i prefer the front bumper or bonnet as i find it easier to judge hitting and turning corners.

I enjoy behind the car too. I feel a true sim should be played as a first person view of the driver though.

Sorry for repeating the point but have any of you managed to gold the drift challenges? @Rado_N @Leg-End @rpitroda @mariachi-19 etc. I've managed the first one but the others are all silver. I just can't get the knack of it.

I haven’t tried any of them yet, I want to Gold S-10 and then continue to work through the menu books first, at that point I’ll move on to missions and circuit experiences whilst sprinkling in races.

Don't think I've done any of the drift challenges! Where are they?

I've done, so far, all licences to gold and then up to 32 or 33 in the menu books. Haven't really done anything beyond that tbh! Haven't had the chance to play too much last week or so.

They are in the mission area. I've realised from your posts I have played too much. I've done all the menu books, all the races (1st in everything), all the missions (gold in all apart from the drift), golded all licences. I need a life. :nervous:

 that’s a good effort for sure!

Not tried them as of yet but I suspect gold on controller will be brutal. Are they open car choice?

Fixed cars that are slogs (Mustang, Viper etc.) and on the tightest tracks - Daytona, Tsukaba so there is little to no room for error.

Yeah I'm stuck on the drifting missions as well. Absolutely despise them.

They're ridiculous and unlike normal driving missions I have no enjoyment in retrying them.

So you can’t play with car settings and tyre choices?

I had a look and despite doing almost everything possible I only have around 90 of 400+ cars.

You can, but they put you on the right tyres initially. Even with changing the settings it's tough.

In the past I’ve found mixing front and rear tyres can help with drifting certain cars. Like if they’re overpowered RWD monsters put slightly grippier tyres on the back than the front and it helps prevent spinning out.

I spent £1 million on the Tomahawk S VGT because people reckon it's the best car to use if you wanna grind credits (Daytona Sunday 600 cup for £22k under 2 minutes or the first race in the Pan Am Championship for £52k which takes a bit longer). Haven't done too much grinding with it yet as still doing the Cafe Menu's but it's an absolute blast to drive and I love the in car view on it as well.

Will try that out if it's possible!

Will have a look and grind a bit. I bought one of the LMP1 Toyota cars to do a Le Mans mission and that was 1m so I have about 1.7m left. Have seen the Tomahawk but also have the Red Bull car from the licences. Need to have a read up online and see what's best!

If you get the Tomahawk then make sure it's the S VGT version because that's classed as a road car. You just blitz past everything on Daytona.

Gold all. You need to flow the car and actually slow it down at times more than you think.

I always remember to relax with drifting and focus on balancing throttle control.

Cheers, will check it out

:D

Cheers! I'll have another bash, I probably didn't have the patience at the time.

On GT5 on the PS3 I had a C4 rally car that was absolutely awesome for drifting, I’d fecked about with the camber, toe, pitch, power train delivery, tyres, everything to the point where you could drift literally the entire way around a full track it was so controllable.

I miss that car.

Treated myself to the Lambo V12 VGT. It's a beautiful car but doesn't drive as nice as the Tomahawk. The cockpit view is quite the experience on that one as well.

btw if anybody is struggling with the Audi -R8 ultra lift off oversteer, I have a setup which should assist and make the car more manageable especially around high speed ring etc.

the downside is it doesn’t turn into corners quite so well as the baseline setup. I’ve managed to induce understeer into the mid corner rotation but it’s come at a cost of turn in. You might be able to play around more with the anti-roll bars to work on corner turn in.

If you’re on a controller, turn oversteer assist on.

On?! Hmmm.

I feel like I’m absolutely nailing 85% of the track, but then the two sweeping lefts before the straight that takes you to bus stop I’m losing time and then just can’t pin down the braking point for bus stop.

I’ll get it eventually. I hope.

I went by the demo for my braking points. The two sweeping lefts, as im sure you're aware, is you don't need to lift off on the first bend, i went flat out around it; but you can lift off for safety. The second left needs a short brake and lift off until you have the car on the straight and its safe to accelerate again. With the busstop i slam the brakes on the first marker, if not 1m before it (again for caution) and roll it around the chicane slowly.

Slower is probably faster. The first left about 70% throttle. Second left you'll probably want to lift off quite a bit. Brake very early but gradually for the chicane.

Cheers lads will keep you posted!

It will stop the car losing traction on the puddle which is under the tree.

Something underrated in this game is the rain affects on shadowed sections of tracks. The legit take longer to dry

Just got to international a-10 and it feels like it will be a miracle if I get it.

Also had connection issues with the server (wouldn't let us out to qualify) for the tournament tonight and as a result missed out on the race entirely which was a bit gutting.

It’s a pain. It’s really about getting to the end more than anything that’s the challenge. I think I only completed 3 runs in total and golded on the third but took several hours.

I had done the first two parts of the track so many times I was actually ahead of the demo ghost until the final sector, which is so difficult to control the car I basically coasted those two left handers. Fortunately nailing the first two sectors meant I had that buffer because it’s so difficult to be fast and not spin in that final sector.

I also did it with counter steer off - but not sure that’s the best way but just because I spent time learning to control the car in that mode so was too difficult to switch out after.
