Gaming Gran Turismo 7 (PS4/PS5) | Full game and online multiplayer confirmed in free PS VR2 update

I reckon all our save data is gone, everything is gone. Starting from scratch again I reckon. With nerfed earning potential to force us to buy credits

Apparently a lot of big name YouTubers etc who have been supporting gran turismo (and gt planet itself) have kicked off over the micro transactions and race issues with GT7 - hopefully more pressure on poly and Sony will rethink their process because they’ve created an awesome game, but have knee capped it and made it virtually in accessible to most. Even more so considering people have paid full wack for the game.

They'll have to change something, too many people have spoke out about it now.

Logged in to play and alas, couldn’t. Checked in here to see if I was alone, alas I was not. This really is ridiculous surely. How many hours has it been now?

Haven't had time to play for a few days, had no idea of the issues, this is a poor effort.

“In Gran Turismo 7 I would like to have users enjoy lots of cars and races even without microtransactions. At the same time the pricing of cars is an important element that conveys their value and rarity, so I do think it’s important for it to be linked with the real world prices. I want to make Gran Turismo 7 a game in which you can enjoy a variety of cars lots of different ways, and if possible would like to try to avoid a situation where a player must mechanically keep replaying certain events over and over again.”

So says the series creator Kazunori Yamauchi. What a fecking shameless scumbag.
Probably be my last GT game. Utter farce.

I'd be lying if I said something like this. Still got high hopes for this game, it plays really nicely.

It's frustrating but people are losing their minds over this.

As they should be.

The most expensive car on GT sport cost about £4 if you wanted to get it via microtransactions. The most expensive car on GT7 (which you have to buy for a trophy btw) is £90 via microtransactions.

£90 car in a £70 game. And it's not even a car you'd want to race with.

Total bonkers

Farcical situation. Polyphony have been a fecking weird studio for a while now, but their reputation is well and truly down the drain now, and deservedly so. Pathetic by Sony for putting this shit in a first party title as well, or at least for allowing it to happen. They've generally stayed away from these shitty practices but this is a terrible precedent.

It sucks because the base of the game is one of the best racing simulators in years and they've ruined it completely by being greedy cnuts.

This is what you get for playing a car simulator. Just drive a real car.

The grind isn't a massive issue for me, I probably only want a few cars anyway. I can see what they're trying to do though and it's that which pisses me off. You shouldn't have microtransactions in paid games for fecks sake. You pay for the game.

The latest car to go in the Legends dealership is a McLaren F1 and it would cost £150 to buy via microtransactions.

Farcical.

Yeah this won’t end well for Sony and PD unless this changes very quickly.

I hope nobody in their right mind is paying for mircotransactions.

If it isn’t remedied very quickly, this game will lose a significant follower base.

Doesn't really matter, people have already bought it and won't get a refund. PD and Sony will class that as a win.

I don't own the game or know much about all the microtransactions in it, but are you unable to get these Legend cars unless you pay real-world money for them?

Its quite frustrating as I only get to play 3-4 races a day, be nice to progress a little faster.

Yes you can, but the rewards from races are so low that it would require constantly repeating races over and over!

Yeah exactly it's not the 'grind' per se that's annoying as that's fundamental to the gameplay, it's making the rewards unobtainable for anyone with an actual life. To actively take the game offline for 2 days to make it even harder is surely a cnuts trick and people are understandably pissed off.

Great game apart from that nonsense.

So I could play for 40 odd hours and have only 2 'top' cars to show for it?

I really don't see how anyone can defend that. If I buy a racing game, I want the cars...a level of progression, sure but that is egregious, especially when you can spend 'real' money to use them.

Was on the verge of buying it but no chance - Forza Horizon might not be a sim but the amount of content they throw at you is great and really fun...guess I'll be sticking to that.

God how much i regret buying this disaster of a game. The absolute fecking state of these twats making these games

Did end up buying this right before all these micro transactions came into the thread. So a bit disappointed now and if I held off a few days would’ve avoided.

Nevertheless it’s a beautiful game. Will just accept I won’t have all the cars because I’m not giving them a penny after the initial unless they offer a great car bundle deal or something.

I agree with this. It is a shame that it won’t be possible to complete the collection but the game has enough about it to enjoy none the less.
Hopefully they learn from this backlash going forward!

Yep, I wasn't arsed about getting all the cars tbh, but I can fully understand why people are raging. I'll get the few I want and if I earn credits past that I'll buy more. Not going to grind for cars though.
