Gonzalo Higuain

Really classy player, that. But Real Madrid's management are filled with Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime so they will probably go back in the market for Villa and leave Higuain on the bench.

That IMO is exactly what they are going to do.. Except that they could accommodate both of them in their starting 11.. Which will leave atleast the both of Raul & Benzema on the bench.. Unless I am wrong about them being able to play 2 of those 4 in the starting 11.. In which case there will be 3 on the bench..

Old Ballague and co on the Sky Sports program reckon he's sure to be sold in the summer as Perez wants Benzema up front with Kaka behind that is if they cant sign Rooney :wenger:

The Madrid president is said to be looking to collect at least €40 million for the striker, who has been the team's leading scorer for the past two seasons.

city it might be
cant see us give madrid 40m unless we are resigning ronaldo

We were willing to offer £35m for Benzema last year. I can't see why we wouldn't offer the same for a more proven striker.

He's a damn good player. I heard that Madrid were offering him a new deal? I don't understand why they would get rid of their top goalscorer though.

If Real Madrid are actually stupid enough to be considering the Sale of Higuain I would think we would be very interested and he should become our number 1 target without a doubt..

Apparently City are interested and we all know that even Madrid's 40 mill price tag won't put them off. Selling a player you don't want (for whatever reasons) for 40 mill, is hardly looking like arses to be fair.

Selling a player who has the potential to be world class, somebody is developing into one infront of our very eyes, what ever happened to principle, let them by another Galatico and go out the CL for the 7th time in a row, right now they are the laughing stock of Europe and they are determined top uphold that title.

Didn't want Sniedjer and bought Kaka, look who is balling and who isn't.

He is a potential world class talent, scored bucket loads, they did the same to Robben.. a guy who'd been their star player last year and stabbed him in the back.

Despicable team with loons in charge who don't understand that to build a team, it has to be a piecemeal approach, bit at a time.

Not constant upheaval.

He is only 22. Would be a quality signing. Sir Alex has clearly adopted the tactic of using 4-5-1 during bigger games and Rooney seems to thrive on that. But the main problem at the moment is if, god forbid, Rooney gets injured, nobody can really deputize that out and out striker role. Berbatov is more about link up play and Owen doesn't seem to be able to score in a brothel. But Higuain can definitely play that role to perfection.

They can't seriously be thinking about letting this guy go, but then if it is true that there is some kind of clash (of ego/personality/whatever it is) between him and Ronaldo, then I guess you leave yourself little choice.

Much like SAF made the right choice between Ronaldo and RVN when it was clear they couldn't really operate together.

I'd tell them to get over it personally

I'd be putting in a bid for 40mill straight away if I was Ferguson. He's close to being in the world class bracket ffs! To think we were willing to spunk 35mill on Benzema!

5 Reasons why Perez would want to sell Higuain | Real Madrid Galacticos

You all must have heard the news that Florentino Perez wants to sell Higuain to make way for another Galactico and because he was bought by Calderon and so Perez does not want any mention of Calderon if Higuain turns out to be one of the star players for Real Madrid in the future to win the club some major silverware. The tabloids also have it that there is some unrest between Higuain and C.Ronaldo so to maintain a good dressing atmosphere Perez wants to get rid of Higuain.

Here are 5 more reasons why Perez would want to sell Higuain:

1. Higuain may have scored 21 goals but rarely he scores a goal which he creates himself or scores a goal for which one might be tempted to say that Raul would not have scored that. Which basically means that Higuain is no special talent and it is just a matter of his determination and probably luck that he is scoring this many goals. He is like another Kanoute (Sevilla striker) or Darren Bent who plays in the BPL.
2. Perez is probably killing himself inside because Real Madrid got knocked out in the Champions League and that too by a tier 2 team such as Lyon. Plus, the blame could be put on Higuain as he was the one who missed the open goal opportunity. Perez must have noted his name then.
3. May be the miss at the Lyon game and several others where Higuain was unable to score at key moments (relatively easy chances) has signalled Perez that Higuain can never be a big game player or a big name player for that matter. Mind you, Higuain has also scored some crucial goals for Real Madrid in the past as well but the miss at Lyon cannot be forgotten or forgiven specially for a man like Perez who wants results no matter what.
4. Probably this is the best Higuain will be able to play in his entire career so may be this is a good time to sell the guy, make some money and then use that money to buy another Galactico, say like Wayne Rooney.
5. You could bring in another argument in the form of the “Ronaldinho effect”, I do not want to sound rude but considering the type of guy Perez is (Remember, he rejected Ronaldinho and bought Beckham for the same reason and probably got rid of Makalele for this reason too who knows), I do not think he ranks Higuain and Brad pitt in the same league when it comes to having a pretty face for brand value.

These were the reasons why I think Perez may be tempted to sell Higuain. One thing I did not mention is that Perez might also want to show the footballing world that Real Madrid does know how to do buying and selling when it comes to these players. We always loose money whenever we sell a player but here is the perfect opportunity to double our money because Higuain was bought for relatively cheap price from an Argentinian side, Riverplate. I think it was 13 million or something.

What do you think? Would you stick with Higuain or sell him to make way for Benzema or someone else. I would keep both by the way. As always, I am all ears and want to hear what you have to say.

We have about as much chance of signing this guy as we do as signing Messi! I imagine he has already done a deal with Man City Tevez style for a ridicuous salary. A wise man would put money on hims signing for City as its already a done deal!

Rubbish, he's scored some quality goals that any striker would be proud of over the past couple of years. Even a youtube video would show that.

....that Higuain can never be a big game player or a big name player for that matter.

The amount of goals from Higuain that have either won the game for Madrid or put them back in front is stunning, so again, no. He's not quite there yet but to say he never will be is obviously a bit retarded.

Terrible article.

This is garbage. He's scored plenty of screamers - far more than your average penalty box striker. Determination and luck? The only goals you can score from determination and luck are bundled efforts in a crowded six-yard box. What a load of pish.

4. Probably this is the best Higuain will be able to play in his entire career so may be this is a good time to sell the guy, make some money and then use that money to buy another Galactico, say like Wayne Rooney.

What is the justification for this ludicrous assertion? Players do tend to improve after the age of 22.

I don't know much about but can he play on the left of a 433 you will Rooney through the middle Valencia/Nani on the right. Also what about as the main striker in a 442 so Rooney can play behind the main striker.

I think we'd be mad to let Higuain slip us by if RM want to sell, I mean if they are so adamant to sell that should (in theory) drop the price. Imagine picking him up for around 25-30 £.

Even better imaginse if we could sell them berba_flop for £15m and only have to pay £10m for him...

i think he and Rooney could work well together as well

If Vidic leaves, ask Real for Higuain + cash in exchange. If they want rid that much, then we should take full advantage. Apparently city have been in contact about Gago and him, and a deal for Gago is supposedly already done and it nearly went through in the final moments of the last window. I could see them singing Higuain, especially if they finish in the top 4.

Childish much?
