Gonzalo Higuain

He is always underrated/under-appreciated, Higuain. He isnt 'Galactico' enough for Madrid.

Heard that Juve bosses were at Madrid to finalise the deal. Would be a great signing for them.

Arent they getting Llorente as well at the end of the season? So Vucinic, Llorente and Higuain as their strike force? Not bad. Still not good enough to challenge for European honors. Teams like Arsenal or Tottenham should just pay £20m if they have to to get him. He will do brilliantly for them.

Yep, They will be a force with their midfield also.

Can see them shifting Matri, Quagliarella out to make room.

He is good, but he isn't that good if it makes sense. Don't think that he ever fit in well in the current Madrid team.

He is a player who can easily get you 20-25 goals a season.

His goal scoring record is quite good. But the thing is, 1) he doesn't offers much in the build up play, 2) he misses more than he scores, which can sometimes come back to hurt the team.

One of the players I dislike mostly. If you need a goal to score, than surely Higuain is not the answer. If the team is winning 3-0, then he will probably add another 2 goals.

Madrid should have sold him long ago.

Not every striker is involved in every play. I think you can compare Hernandez to him. Both are quick in the final third. He is bigger than Chicharito and a cooler finisher in the box. They dont complain too much about playing time and go about their job in a quiet manner. Some of the goals in the video are brilliant.

I personally don't rate him. Madrid could do so much better than him imo, and if they had a player like Falcao they'd be a much better team. He misses too many chances whenever I see him. Would do a good job at a lower team like Arsenal or Spurs imo. Juventus would be a good move for him too(not saying Juve are at Arsenal/Spurs' level).

Yes, but that helped him because the Real wingers and midfielders create so many chances for their forwards. But yet, he still misses a lot as well. Probably if you do a search, you will get a similar video.

And what Revan said.

Indeed. He doesn't score as many "big goals" as he should playing for a Madrid team.

RDC compared him to cheech above but cheech is much better at scoring the crucial and important goal and making a impact with his movement than Higuain even coming off the bench.

He probably hasn't shown enough consistency to be regarded as amongst the very best strikers. He's had three very good seasons in his last five at Madrid, but he has been wasteful during the patchy seasons. In terms of the Hernandez comparison, the way he excelled as a right-sided attacker a few years ago, suggests he's got a bit more about him. Reckon he'll be a decent signing for Juve - a step-up from what they've got - and especially so if he gets his mojo back.

Oh absolutely. Hernandez is a way better impact sub than Higuian. The latter has that Berbatov sort of laziness about him. Just sort of.

Bale as a striker ? And Athletico won't sell to Real. It's reallistically possible that they make a move for Cheech if they want 2 strikers.

Anyways, the striker market is going to be really hot this season. All sorts of teams needing and wanting one or 2 of them this summer.

He might seem to miss a lot of "easier" chances, but his conversion rate is about 10% higher than team mate Cristiano... which can partly be explained because the latter takes shots from further out, but even then a difference of 10% is huge for two players who are supposed to be on completely different levels as finishers.

More than 10% can easily be put down to the free kicks Ronaldo takes from each angle, tbf.

Plus he often creates many of his own openings unlike with Higuain with quick feet and pace/strength, so stats there don't tell much.

Well they can play Ronaldo as a striker and play Bale on the left. And both of them can just interchange their positions.

Thinking about it.

PSG (If Ibrahimovic leaves)
Arsenal
Bayern
Dortmund (If Lewandowski goes)
Real
Barca
Juventus
Chelsea
City

may all be after strikers this summer. And we of course are always there in that market. :p

Really not Madrid quality. They could do a lot better. He wouldn't really improve a top top side. Rate him in that Gillardinho ilk of strikers.

Sorry what? He's a cooler finisher than Chicharito? No. I don't think you really meant that.

This.

Higuain is a good goal scorer but not a great goal scorer and his record has been embellished by the fact he plays for a team that is vastly superior to all its domestic opposition bar one, and even that one team is as bad at defending as the rest.

Higuain has good touch, good control, good finishing but nothing about his game can be called great. He's a 7 out of 10 player, above average but nothing remarkable. Would we swap him for Van Persie? Would City swap him for Aguero? Would Liverpool swap him for Suarez? Higuain is an above ordinary player blessed to be at an extraordinary club.

When on form he's very good, one of the most two footed strikers out there. But there are clearly a number of better ones
