Is he really just out there on his own with no backing band? Did he learn nothing from Kanye?
He always performs like this I think. Tight wad doesn't want to pay a band £25k a show.

Is he? Anyone can sing and play two melodies on an acoustic guitar.
does he need to , he has the crowd going , singing along with him.He always performs like this I think. Tight wad doesn't want to pay a band £25k a show.
This about sums it up http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/22960-divide/
Appears so. He is successful, writes his own stuff. He's the male equivalant of Adele.I see Ed is the new one to hate, has he overtaken Chris Martin now then.
£500, jaysus. That's nuts.
As good as Glastonbury looks, the European festivals tend to have lineups as good for far cheaper and with far better weather. NOS Alive had a better lineup than Glastonbury last year and cost €130 a ticket. In fact even with flights and a quality Airbnb close to the festival it still worked out cheaper.
Think it is just us 2 that like him on here.It must be exhausting as you cannot pass any of the guitar playing to anyone else or the singing. It is all down to him.
He's somehow managed to combine the worst elements of folk, hip hop and bland indiepop into one small crowd-pleasing package. Quite an achievement.
Yeah my thoughts too, although I've never been to Glastonbury so I don't have the comparison.Having been to Glastonbury and loved it, going to NOS last year was a revalation. It is half the size and only takes you 5/10 mins to get to the different stages, beer is cheaper, its 30 mins back in Lisbon - so you get a bed, and you know whose playing beforehand.
It is just about the music at NOS, but has such a great vibe. Hence i'm going to NOS this year again and not glastonbury. You can also spend the daytime in Lisbon, rather than i'm a field trying to find your spiritual self.

I do too. Easier not to argue with the miserable vets.Think it is just us 2 that like him on here.
What's the craic with his guitar? It's 3/4 sized. Never noticed that before. Wah gwan?
On a side note, never heard the Galway Girl song before. Jesus fecking Christ it's bad.

That's what he does. It's all part of his calculated cynical plan to appeal to different audiences. A bit of rapping. A cute little guitar. A bullshit Irish jig. A little ginger hobbit head. $$$On a side note, never heard the Galway Girl song before. Jesus fecking Christ it's bad.
Is he seriously gonna play acoustic all night
This is an abomination.

Of course he is. What else did you expect?
This forum is depressing. Why is everyone hating on a Lad with his acoustic guitar and pedal and who's not using shitty auto tune or doesn't have the protection of a band behind him. I'm not even a fan of his music but you have to give major props to the lad and if you can't then your either miserable or plain jealous.
Lucky you, I've found it hard to avoid.
Feck me, bunch of miserable tossers. He'd doing a great job.
I'm with you fella.
Very easy to pshaw' his everyman simple style but he's busking seriously catchy tunes to Glasto's biggest crowd entirely off his own bat.
There's a lot of music I'd rather hear, but I bet his gig would be brilliant.

It sounds like something David Brent would pitch to the Irish Tourist Board.
