I actually fear for his safety now. I bet Milan fans are furious.
Raiola can throw chairs remember? Raiola IS the bodyguard.Raiola gave him a bodyguard
He is very good for an 18 year old, but nowhere close to the likes of De Gea and Neuer. If we get him while De Gea goes to RM we are looking at a massive downgrade. He made a lot of mistakes last season costing Milan points, although he did saved them in a fair few games too. Still, not a goalkeeper that should be our number one (I would put him around the level of maybe Karius), especially as De Gea's replacement.
He also rejected a 140-160k per week deal from Milan which would have made him the second highest paid goalkeeper in the world (just behind De Gea), so he will not be cheap either. He also comes with a baggage of being hated by the whole Italy (yes, even Juventus fans hate him, because Italians do not like seeing this kind of stunt) and there is no guarantee that he is mentally tough enough to endure all the hate.
People who wants him to join us for De Gea genuinely doesn't know what they are talking about.
Does the name Riola ring any bells? He seems a bit of a bellend this lad, either that or he's ill advised.
Your have to remember he is still a kid. He's only 18. Teenagers aren't exactly known for being mature and calm minded individuals. He seems a bit of a bellend this lad, either that or he's ill advised.
Which makes it all the more strange that Milan are letting this play out in the media so much.Your have to remember he is still a kid. He's only 18. Teenagers aren't exactly known for being mature and calm minded individuals.
Camp Raiola united!
For feck sake Paul, you already have the best keeper in the world at your club.
EDIT: Why am I speaking to him directly? Feck knows.
Maybe he is affected by everything around him, wouldn't be strange for an 18yo.Looked average today against Spain to be honest. He seems way too heavy and ponderous for an 18 year old.
But also naive to play games like that and put him into this situation. Even if you're only 18 years old, he should be around better peopleMaybe he is affected by everything around him, wouldn't be strange for an 18yo.
Were you around good people when you were 18?But also naive to play games like that and put him into this situation. Even if you're only 18 years old, he should be around better people
I was, but on the other hand I was not a talented goalkeeper. You'd have hoped that by now things became clear to him so that he changes something. He made that mess himselfWere you around good people when you were 18?
Be around better people? The Milan fans gave him death threats because he didn't want to renew. I don't really understand what you are getting at here. But also naive to play games like that and put him into this situation. Even if you're only 18 years old, he should be around better people
As I understand that post, he perhaps meant Raiola, who created a difficult situation for Donnarumma with his confrontational tactics.Be around better people? The Milan fans gave him death threats because he didn't want to renew. I don't really understand what you are getting at here.
I'm pretty sure Donnarumma is more concerned with the Milan fans throwing abuse at him in the Italy games and sending death threats to his home. What ever you may think about Raiola I'm quite certain he takes great care of his clients, and he seems very beloved by Zlatan, Pogba, among others. As I understand that post, he perhaps meant Raiola, who created a difficult situation for Donnarumma with his confrontational tactics.
I know he was hired by Donnarumma in the first place, but that kid just turned 18 and needs professional assistance in business things. And that's where I think this 'he should be around better people' comment is correct.
No question, these actions are outright criminal, and the only ones responsible are the perpetrators themselves.I'm pretty sure Donnarumma is more concerned with the Milan fans throwing abuse at him in the Italy games and sending death threats to his home. So he should just sign a new contract because of the potential consequences from the fanbase? Correct me if I'm wrong but Raiola/Donnarumma had done nothing more than to inform the Milan board that they were not signing a new contract. I fail to see what's wrong with that.No question, these actions are outright criminal, and the only ones responsible are the perpetrators themselves.
But morals asides, reactions from a fanatical fanbase are something that simply has to be calculated with, and as far as I understand the situation, Raiola seems to have consciously taken that risk in his gamble. I'm not sure that a 17 year old kid was fully aware of the possible consequences, but I'm absolutely sure Raiola was.
What nonsense. If Donnarumma was an average 18 year old Milan wouldn't think twice before releasing him. Would they or the fans or anyone other than Raiola show any loyalty then?
Again, I was talking purely on a realpolitik level, but you seem to mistake that for a moral criticism of Donnarumma or Raiola, which it isn't. My point wasn't about 'loyalty', right/wrong or anything, I was just questioning if the strategy from the Donnarumma camp is ideal for a developing young player. And even that is debatable: If Donnarumma is 100% behind that strategy and mentally up for it, Raiola can't be criticised for anything. So he should just sign a new contract because of the potential consequences from the fanbase? Positive reaction above, yet Rooney's reputation still hasn't recovered
