This could turn into the most important signing of the summer for us!

It sucks but losing a GK, even one with the potential and talent of Donnarumma, isn't an epic disaster that will set them back significantly.
He is their poster boy for the new Milan project, their only player with world class potential etc. It will seriously affect them - not on the pitch, but in repairing the damage done to Milan's reputation, signing stars etc.

Not sure how true it is but Mino and Dollarumma demanded a clause of 10 mil. euros if AC Milan doesnt get a CL spot which is just...

Welcome to PSG Gigi!
Just for muppetry's sake, I have no clue if he's any good.

I don't see how Donnarumma and Raiola are in wrong here. From all accounts, they were willing to resign, but with the condition of having a reasonable buyout clause in case Milano doesn't qualify for UCL. Milano have been a joke for the last few years, and they wanted to have a way out if things don't improve. Milano wasn't ready to accept that, and they didn't renew.

Not sure that he is going to Madrid though. There is an open position in Juventus next year, and Italian best players don't move that much, so I could see a move to Juventus.

The interesting thing is to see if Milano benches him or not for the following season, or do they accept a small offer from Madrid and send him there.

How is €10m for one of the brightest GK youth talents reasonable?

Was it really that low? I thought it was a bit higher, but yeah, 10m seems too low. Of course, no release clause if they qualify for UCL though.

Yeah that is what the word is. No club in the world would agree to that.

 EA Sports used the pic of Donnarumma kissing his badge. Good timing.

I'm happy with those odds.

Yep, me too. It's not just about finding the best quality replacement if we lose arguably the best keeper in the world. Otherwise potentially someone like Oblak might be a marginally safer buy. It's about replacing the excitement of De Gea, of signing a young prodigy of a keeper and watching him flourish here. Donnarumma's the only one who'd tick that box.

Of course keeping De Gea will always be by far the best outcome. He is the best.

As I haven't really watched him play but seem to remember about hearing of him being quite prone to errors,
is he a very good goalkeeper or is he just a very good 18-year-old goalkeeper? how does he compare to De Gea, Neuer, Ter Stegen, Leno, Bravo, Bürki, Navas and the like?

Worst case scenario for Milan is the kid stays for a season being a benchwarmer, then being release for a free. He might go for either Madrid or PSG though.

Any chance Barca interested in him?

Juve will buy him...for sure.

He is destined to be the heir of Buffon. For Juventus, and for Italy NT.

Even share a same first name. Gigi Ruma for Gigi Buffon.

If Juve get him, he could learn a lot from Buffon, he will give at least 15-17 great service as Buffon has until now.

If we can have him, Ican accept DDG to Madrid for 40 million.

Nah. Milan will cash in this season. He isn't going to sit on the bench behind Buffon in a World Cup season.

Could this be reason why DDG rumours have gone a bit quiet last weeks? Maybe they new he will be available soon and is interested to move to Santiago Bernabeu?

Rumours are that we were ok in giving him the additional contract out of loyalty. Zlatan said no.

Hard to believe that's true given that he's not likely to get a better deal elsewhere than the current one given the length of his injury and how desperate we are to offload Rooney. It'd be weird to say the least to push out a 300k/week benchwarmer for a 300k/week injured player.

More likely scenario is that we either offer no deal, or one highly performance -based with slashed wage. Raiola and Zlatan thought they could do better (length of contract, pay) in the 2nd scenario.

After Jordan fecking Pickford was bought for £30m? This Mino looking for a payday

If the Real move happens it will be great news for United and I have no great love for Milan but I think this is a real shame.

Milan are a great club and after a long time in the doldrums they had a real gem in Donnarumma. With the changes happening at the club, he should have been the symbol of a resurgence. If he was part of a successful Milan team in the future it would have meant so much more than doing it at Madrid.

Arrigo Sacchi: "I used to respect Donnarumma as a lad & footballer, but I got stunned by the lack of gratitude towards Milan. I want to remind him of all those who put money before all else, like Kaka & Shevchenko, who left Milan for Real Madrid & Chelsea only to later bitterly regret it."

Being slated by one of the greatest managers in the modern era - hard to ignore someone like that.

I think he'd stay if he also had players like Maldini, Gattuso and Pirlo instead of the current Milan in front of him, though.

The kid is 18!

We're potentially talking about another 20 years ahead of him so don't understand why the great rush to want to leave Milan

Because he knows that he probably won't win anything with Milan and that he's good enough for teams competing for the Champions League etc. People tend to miss that he's not from Milan as well, he joined them 2013.

He looks a great talent, amazing in fact for 18 years old....BUT. If we could have him you would be happy for DeGea to go for £40m....really?

The potential is there for him to be the best in the world but I think he would struggle more in the premiership at first than DeGea did. Currently (and yes mainly an age thing) he is awful on crosses for example.

We are seeing many potential fees bandied about for players in the premiership above £40m fo rin my opinion pretty average players. DeGea along with Buffon and Neur are for me without doubt by far the worlds best three goalkeepers, come on Pickford went for £30m!

Donarumma undoubtedly has the potential to be up there within the next few years but HE would cost over £40m I would expect, so would you theroretically be happy to sell DeGea and pay EXTRA money to sign Donarumma?

For his own sake I hope that it's not United he's coming to. Ignoring that I personally prefer big Dave, the amount of criticism and online abuse he's currently receiving, from both fans of seemingly every club in the world, as well as from football legends like Sacchi, combined with the baseline level of excessive criticism and irrational hate from all corners after becoming a United player (see pogba) will probably be too much for one person to handle.

United always has been a club where hated players thrived. Beckham post WC98, Ronaldo post WC2006. Us against the world siege mentality. Proving haters wrong. Not saying I want him at United as I'd much rather have Dave stayed, but if he is really that hated, United is the right club for him.
