German Football 2024/25

Basically it’s like this: Dortmund were so pissed that the talented guys they got would leave immediately, that they forgot that the one thing that’s worse than helping young talents to their breakthrough and see them blossom somewhere else, is buying worse players that stay.
Now most players are happy with being at Dortmund. They just aren’t that good.

Oh my... Leverkusen really needs to get their shit together. When Honsak looks like Messi going through your defence, you really have a problem.

Nothing. They overperformed massively last season.
they were blowing everyone apart in the first half of the season by playing amazing football with total control of the ball. that surely dropped in the second half of the season with a lack of finishing but it was still all about controlling the ball and making your opponent run a lot and tire them out. It was THE reason they had so many late winners or equalisers

were they lucky in some Games? 100% but to say they massively overperformed when they were the best playing Team in Europe is kinda troll tbh

also this Season they arent playing realy worse. they just continue wasting a lot of goal chances

Reversion to the mean. They scored 72635 goals in extra time last season.

Don't think so because we deserved to win the vast majorty of late victories last season. It's a mixture of fatigue (both mentally and physically) and bad luck in my opinion. Situations like the first goal were unthinkable of last season and now we produce them like twice a match.

Lucky last season, unlucky this season. Welcome back to the mean. ;)

We are really bad so far and now without Kane and with the finished Müller, oh dear

Every time I watch Sane he's really not very good. I mean I know he is good but he just has this weird habit of being awful whenever I watch him.

Musiala scoring 5 headers in a 35-day stretch sounds like one of those weird flukes that no one will believe a couple of years from now...or am I underestimating his ability there and he's gonna keep making those?

Ref is supposed to stop play with a head injury
Doesn't feel great but I guess play did not have to be halted here.

Overall I'm okay with this result, would have taken it ahead of the match and the equalizer was definitely very much deserved. Let's hope not too many additional injuries piling up...

Not sure how dortmund didn't go ballistic on that equalizer.

It doesn't matter that the ref 'thinks' the player is fine, play must be stopped on head injuries - this is drilled into refs. He took a strong free kick square in the head and could have been dazed.

Although we had more chances and imo deserved a win more, a draw in Dortmund is not bad.

Ball to the head is imo something different than foot to head or head to head. When was a player ever seriously injured because the ball hit his head?

On the other side Sané could have gotten a penalty when Bensebaini held him. I'm okay if the ref judged it as "not enough for a penalty" but I don't think Dortmund have any right to complain about the ref tonight.

I thought the ref was very "english", let the game flow and often didn't give a foul for 50:50 tackles. But he was like that for both sides, also for the goal and also for the possible penalty for Sané so I think It's totally fine.

That's a pretty outdated view on head injuries like concussions

Besides that fact that Süle was indeed faking an injury to waste time the ref surely has to stop the game, doesn’t he? The only excuse would be if he thought the ball hadn’t hit him.

No idea how Bayern wasn’t awarded a pen for a pull down. We see them given all the time in the prem. was worse than the Højlund on city one.

I didn't see a replay, so no idea if he faked it. Poor form if so, but unless the ref saw for sure it didn't hit his head, he should've stopped it in my opinion

Was it his head or was it his face? If it was his face then Bayern have a right to carry on. The refs job is to stop the game when he wants. Until the whistle the team carries on

Please explain me the difference between head and face in this context

Oh come on. Sané fell down when Bensebaini's hand brushed up on his hip. That was not even close to a pen, not even without the leniency the ref showed today.

I think myself that it wasn't enough for a penalty but it also wouldnt have been a clear mistake by the ref if he had given it.

Bensebaini grabbed him, he didn't "brush his hip", come on.
