Gary Neville

Yeah, but to bring him on daytime TV though. It'll be Carra next.
What qualifies one as a political commentator? Gary has been vocal about politics since he retired. Furthermore, his opinions on political issues are often based on knowledge given the charities he is heavily involved in.

I feel like I haven't heard much of him regarding the Newcastle takeover. His outrage towards the super league was something else, and the top clubs weren't involved in any murders.

He had some bizarre rant about the treatment of Bruce.

And you won’t either. Sky will have him toe the line. They only let him rant about the super league because they weren’t getting a slice of the pie.

How is Neville a political commentator now?

He's got a number of businesses that had to shut during the pandemic so was speaking publicly about those issues.

He also said that the government decided to get involved in football - saying players should pay more tax, that taking the knee was wrong and going after Rashford. So Nev said, if they want to come at football I'll go at them - he's everything the government hate: an articulate, successful guy from a working class background and has a huge platform to state his opinion.

Neville just absolutely refuses to criticise Maguire. He watched replays today of Maguire being at fault over and over again yet completely ignored his part in it every time. Not a peep.

Even when it's absolutely unavoidable - when Maguire has dropped a complete shitshow - he goes so lightly on him and tries to deflect blame to somebody else.

No surprise that they share a relationship with the same publicist...as does Kane. There's a reason they've both down sitdowns with him on The Overlap.

It's literally textbook pay for play journalism. If he can't show objectivity he shouldn't be there.

He talks such absolute unrelenting shit.

"This is a mad team."

"This team is madness or magic."

Soundbites to deflect from actually talking about an inept manager and coaching setup.

I like Neville he does talk sense at times, but i agree there are occasions where you can see he ignores certain players errors as theyre either English, or his favourites.

If Utd lost 4-0 every week for 10 games in a row, he'd still not say is OGS' fault, too. Carragher was right, him and Rio wont blame OGS because theyre mates, even though he is to blame as well

Is the publicist thing really true? Jeezuz Gary.

He sounds ridiculous. Performing every mental gymnastic not to talk about the elephant in the room.

I think he needs to be put on the pay no mind list in regards to United now, he's talking absolute drivel.

He has no integrity. If he can’t be objective, he shouldn’t be in the position he is in.

He literally points out all the reasons Ole should go but refuses to say the words.

"This Manchester United team can't press so why are they doing it?"

C'mon Gary, you can work this one out.

"They don't have the players to press, even if you organise them"

Even if you organise them. FFS.

He knows Ole needs to go just doesn’t want to say it, ends up looking stupid by criticising everything Ole is responsible for but not blaming him.

I could never stand the pundit Neville and the diarrhea coming from his mouth. Thankfully with years I learned to ignore people instead of raging.

Yeah. “Change the tactics. Change the attitude. Change the team.” He’s throwing every cliche out there.

This was genuinely embarassing, Carragher is trying to get him to say what needs to be said but he's throwing out everything else instead as being the problem rather than just saying there needs to be a change

Has Carragher said that Ole should be sacked?

He danced his fecking ass off on commentary around the elephant in the room today. Commendable effort

He's embarrassing himself now. How can you still back him? Non stop contradictions in his commentary and punditry.

Yeah when Carragher said "Change what?" it was obvious what he meant.

Whoever we get next I hope they have zero relationship with him and I hope they put him in his place when he eventually does kick off against him.

Even if he wanted Ole to go and that’s the right opinion he shouldn’t be putting pressure on the situation either way and that’s what he’s trying to avoid.

He can't possibly really think Ole deserves to stay after this start to the season and then a home 5-0 defeat?!

How could it get worse? Just more defeats in a row I suppose.
