Gary Neville

Haha look through any of my posts and show me where I stated once that Pogba broke rank or acted against his managers wishes ? So who's post is moronic ? At least reply to the post with some sense of truth or don't reply at all . I've stated a fact that Pogba is shit at penalties his record shows he is now if you want to argue he isn't shit at them then there's a discussion but for you to create a lie and then call it moronic shows me who the moron is my friend

You said if Roy Keane was on the pitch our designated penalty taker last season wouldn’t have taken it based on your opinion Pogba is shit at them. It’s a pretty moronic argument since you can’t know that and there’s no evidence to support that.

That’s all. Rashford for pens it is.

I see Rashford got racist abuse now after today. Should Neville be held partly responsible for that too?

I fecking knew it, all this BS has piled the pressure on Rashford too. everybody screaming RASHFORD RASHFORD so he had to never miss.

This whole situation has turned out ridiculous
Yep. I'm holding Gary partially accountable for the state of mind players are going into penalties now and fully accountable for the circus that has come about who or what takes penalties for us that the media keeps asking now.

At one point before a freekick Pogba and Rashford were both standing there with the ball then commentator threw in a comment in the line of " I wonder if Pogba will pull rank on Rashford for this freekick". Thanks to Gary pathetic rant the media are now having a field day with this and we're being over scrutinised over penalties and free kicks now.

Rashford had more pressure taking that penalty than he would normally have had because of Neville childlike rant.

Thank you Gary, for a job well done.

I agree the missed penalty shouldn't be a big deal. He made it so. I don't think it's acceptable to instantly go on a 30 minute rant, spouting all kinds of nonsense, whilst ignoring the rest of the match. That is blowing it completely out of proportion. He tweeted about it before the match even finished. He already killed Pogba before knowing the facts. He's kicking people whilst they are down. You think that is acceptable?

That kind of toxicity leads to situations like today where there is a heap of pressure put upon the takers shoulders.

I totally agree with this post especially your last line.

I really like Neville but his coverage was way over the top and a player who has yet to miss did so today. Of course players know what is being said on social media. Of course it will effect them in some shape or form. Even the very, very best feel the pressure. Just a small amount of doubt would reduce the chances of a successful conversion.

I don't think footballers are really that sensitive. Like most of the mankind.

At least I hope so in Rashford's case.
You're saying this as if footballer aren't human and are programmed robotically or something.

Pressure is still pressure. No matter how zen one might think they can achieve, human are still subceptible to human emotions and sensibility.

Truth of the matter is that all the ruckus about the missed pen from Pogba perpetrated by Gary has added further and unecessary pressure to any of our taker, at least this close to all the noises being made by the media, started by Neville.

Neville is responsible for starting this whole chain of bs. That's on him. His pathetic rant has gotten us to this point.

Gary made Marcus miss.
Now it's Neville's fault Rashford missed.

This place.
Neville didn't make him miss but the unwanted spotlight over a missed PK adds pressure to whoever takes it, especially to Rashford after a week of media wanking over his penalty ability. Because of Neville's idiocy the entire week was about who the designated penalty taker is, it was all completely unnecessary.

I think a pundit can give his opinion,
whatever that is. A player can reply in kind or by his performance on the pitch.

Top players should be able to absorb that, especially in the millisecond media environment of today.

It’s Rashford and Pogba’s failing. All you’re doing is making excuses for mentally weak players.
The players should be protected from that, I don't think the likes of Neville would handle the "millisecond media environment of today" that well. If anything if I was a player and a pundit took me apart over nothing like Neville did, I'd like my manager or the club to absolute blast the pundit to smithereens.

Neville didn’t criticize Rashford. He criticized the fact we didn’t have a set penalty taker. Players should be able to handle a bit of criticism however. Many payers have received worse!!

Also, this is the same Rashford everyone praised for having the confidence to step up and take the penalty against PSG! He can handle a pundit having a rant...

Show me where I said Pogba went against his managers wishes like you stated in your previous post ? Sorry you can't because you are making up crap to support some kind of argument you seem intent on having .. While it is my opinion that Pogba is shit at penalties I haven't just made it up . The stats show us he is pretty poor from the penalty spot so maybe it's the stats that are moronic or maybe just maybe it's you with the moronic argument based on something you made up in your head .. You can have the last word I learnt a long time ago that having a discussion with someone unable to have a discussion is pretty much impossible .

No, it got you to this point.

The only thing Neville is responsible for is being a highly opinionated football pundit. It's the fans who take his comments too seriously and choose to whine about it on social media that caused this 'whole chain of bs'. Stop being so easily led.

Rashford was bound to miss today after this idiots comments last week wasn't he. It's the only thing that is a positive about today's result. Will shut Nev up hopefully.

Solskjaer said whoever feels most confident takes the penalty. Either he felt confident and wasn’t bothered about the comments last week and just simply missed (he was unlucky) or he lied and should have owned up to not being confident enough to take the penalty. If there was no one else more confident than him to take the penalty then we have a bigger problem!

He missed a penalty, was unlucky, that’s it.

The only reason these fans got led is because they've heard it from Neville and the media picked it up and ran away with it. Had Neville just not ran his big mouth and not whined like a kid depraved of his favorite candies by his parents, this penalty incident would have been a non issue.

The man spent 30 minutes talking about the penalty, accusing Pogba of things and created the whole scenario. Fans being fickle and viewers being gullible they consumed everything thrown to them by the media and the media's main story was the penalty which had become an issue and story in the first place because Neville had made it so by ranting about it for half an hour on television watched by millions.

To be honest there’s so many posters posting so much garbage. You’re just one. You might not have said Pogba broke rank, who cares ? You said if Roy Keane was on the pitch Pogba wouldn’t be near it which is even more moronic since it’s pure speculation.

Anyway who’s next in line ? Martial ? He’s missed before ? Maybe old Roy ? Never saw him take one but in my opinion he’d have been shite and if Robbo was on the field he’d be nowhere near them.

Has He said anything? blame other players (than Pogba) and He might as well blame Ole this time around.

He won't do that. Ole is his mate.

I've seen a couple of reporters state that 'Pogba caused the controversy'*. Ha.

*Referring to the match against Wolves.

Neville has a serious lack of self awareness. He made last week a situation. He was ready to bash Pogba and make baseless accusations against him. As soon as Rashford misses a penalty. Marcus gets the benefit of the doubt. I find his opinion nauseating. He bashes players like Pogba so aggressively but he does not judge English players like Lingard, Rashford in the same way. He has become exactly like Souness. I can't take anything he says seriously.

A person has to take responsibility for their own actions. You cannot blame someone else for another's actions. These people have to stop with the sheep mentality if that is how they actually act because it is pathetic.

I feel people did not even listen to what Neville said, anyway. He initially believed that Rashford was the designated penalty taker due to the last game, but immediately followed that point by identifying the debate in the Chelsea game between Pogba and Rashford. He was annoyed about the fact there was no designated penalty taker. Most of what he talked about is Solskjaer saying there is no designated penalty taker, but it seems people are making stuff up now.

You gotta admire his ability to surprise you with his views even though you have him down as a Grade A moron. No matter how low a bar you set, he'll go lower.

Raved and ranted about the pen miss in the Wolves game, made a mountain of a nothing situation and comes out with the gem now about how the pen miss yesterday is inevitable after what happened last game

I hate the way he says the word yesterday like it's two different words.

He was ranting about the situation with the ball being taken off one player by another and then missed, not the missing of the penalty in itself. I think he does have a semblence of a point, a designated penalty taker probably feels less pressure than someone thinking if I miss this one then I'm not getting the next and has gone on prepared to take a penalty rather than lobby to take one.

He has some nerve.

This guy is something else and shameless too.

Who does he think is responsible for creating this whole ruckus and scenario in the first place? What a shameless fella

Rashford hit the post. What sort of homework do posts do?

What does he mean by the situation that was created? By himself or is he talking about the racism?

Was about to say that.

Him squawking over the penalty against Wolves is what caused the increased pressure on Rashford in the first place.
Was going to add that perhaps he's blaming Pogba for Rash missing?
