Gary Neville

I agree with Gary about both penalty situations to be honest. The Rashford / Pogba situation was farcical and in turn put more pressure on Rashford for his.

Our next penalty will be interesting though and likely missed also.

There was no situation

Shaw with the balls of steel smashes next one.

To orbit.

The "situation"? Only 2 people saw any situation or debate that night, Nev and you.
What does he mean by the situation that was created? By himself or is he talking about the racism?
He's probably referring to the "debate" between Rashford and Pogba in the wolves game which created additional pressure on Rashford. Where he got the debate bit from only he knows.

I'm not sure that Gary's defenders appreciate how bloody difficult it is for his United-supporting critics to slate him for his pundit activities. We all recognise and value the good service he gave the club, and understand how he's passionate about United; so criticising him is an unpleasant business for those of us who don't care for his punditry.

Me, I have a problem with his manner as much as his abilities: routinely labelling players as 'disgraceful', 'embarrassing' (and so on) just gives the impression that he's yet another volatile idiot in football, something we're not exactly lacking. His passion aside, he could do worse than consider how permanently angry ('fuming') he appears - a good pundit surely thinks rather than merely reacts.

This is so funny and sad at the same time

This. He's an absolute legend and it pains me that so many United fans are bad mouthing him these days but he's it brought on himself.

Kind of a shame how he seems to be thought of by some of you lot. He's a local guy who spent his entire career at the club and has 600-odd appearances.

Not me I love him still, some of our fans struggle to accept what he says But the fact is The guy speaks ALOT of truth.

he’s a club legend, he's a fan and bleeds United. He’s just pissed off like the rest of us. I don’t mind him ranting about things.

You didn't mind him ranting about Pogba last week? Just because he wanted to take it?

He has some nerve.

Other night!?! Wolves game was on Monday, Palace game on Saturday
and Rashford hit the post, it wasn't saved
and somehow he shoehorns in Pogba (granted not by name)

No self awareness. He dug himself into a hole after the Wolves game

The player and the pundit are two different things at this point.

Totally respect him for what he did for the club and loved him as a player, but he's becoming more and more emotional in his reaction to United games.

He's creating needless controversy which may be helping his career but isn't helping the club.

My other issue is that he seems to be picking on easy targets and has gone quiet over the actual problems at the club caused by Ed and the Glazer's with this football goes in cycles and we'll win a league before Liverpool nonsense.

I sometimes wonder if media gives bonus wages to pundits, if they manage to create controversies.

Almost hit the Souness level

He is always quick to slate certain players, often accusing them before he has even taken in the relevant facts. In the same breath, for years, he has been consistently biased towards other people/groups refusing to comment with the same scrutiny on them. He's hypocritical to the point he has zero credibility now.

He distances himself away from the fans with his personal interests, telling protesting fans to do one when it suits him. He's never gone after the real problems in our club, that have been caused by the Glazers. Always preferring to pick on the easy targets here. I.e. the players.

This only serves to give the impression of someone only out for themselves.

Remember, he's meant to be our 'legend' and 'one of us'. Yet I find people like Carragher much more measured in their opinion.

I wonder whether Gary hasn't considered a possible context there - part of Pogba being a 'leader' is recognising that Rashford's prominent status under Ole's management doesn't always best serve the team.

He's lost the plot. Deep down he knows how much of a disgrace the Glazers are but doesn't 'say it like it is' like he does with other topics. He's in too deep now and too stubborn to admit he's full of shite.

Who is the traitor now? Gary Neville
He’s nothing more than a Sky yes man instructed what to say to drum up interest in analysis.

It’s almost as though Sky are trying to justify paying £10m for a Premier League game with these pointless overreactions to something that’s nothing.

Having a bit of a melt down on Twitter, he’s soft as shit and a hysterical brat, loves to dish it out but can’t take it, I’ve got no time for him these days which is a real shame.

That’s because his nephew is with the club hence the reason he’s in the Glazers pocket

He's losing the plot and his point isn't even making sense anymore. He even went high pitched when rashford threw the ball to pogba to take. And is now saying pogba took the ball of him to try defend his own ridiculous point

No because frankly footballers are pathetic in modern day football. It’s all for ego boosts. It’s Like little children on a school yard.

A football team should have one main penalty taker that takes every single penalty (if he’s on the pitch).

He boasted on Twitter a while back that one of his controversial outbursts meant that 'viewing figures went up!'; that shouldn't be the point if a pundit is sincere in their opinions.

Says it all doesn't it... No proper response to his comments as he knows deep down it's true.

I know it comes as a shock but maybe he has a different view regarding the Glazer's. It happens.

When he first became a pundit he was fresh and not one of the usual dinosaurs you still see on tv. He has now become stale and somewhat bitter to the point where I have to turn the tv off once the games finished.

I feel the exact same way about him as I do Souness. Soon as he comes on I switch off as I know the nonsense is coming. He's just a petty angry man.
