Don't be so quick to judge, some people just don't like female presenters, but still have wives, sisters and daughters.
Oh man I didn't even read the whole thing. A classic to finish. Chef's kiss.

You are saying that you don't want women to be presenting football. That's bigoted. You're excluding an entire gender.I've heard this viewpoint for a few years now, so I ask you, why is it bigoted? It's always an easy 'get out of jail' quote for left-leaning people. Just throw a few random quotes out there to go on the attack...bigoted...racist...msygonist...just to promote your viewpoint above others.
If someone doesn't like a woman presenting MOTD, thats entirely their perogative. It doesn't automatically make them 'bigoted' simply because they don't want to watch a woman present mens football. I know plenty of women that don't like it either and much prefer a male presenter.
The women have their game now, there's simply no need to carry on with the PC agenda of shoehorning a woman presenter into mens sport, just for the sake of it. I watched the women Euro championships on TV and guess what? not a single male presenter was included in a lot of the TV coverage, a lot were all female, which is ironic seeing as the women game has fundamentally grown off the back of the mens game.
I find it a very narrow viewpoint when people instantly label others as 'bigoted' simply because it doesn't fit to their liberal agenda. I personally don't like female presenters in football or rugby because their voices absolutely grate on my ears. However, I'm seriously into cycling and find I can't stand most of the male presenters on TV because Orla Chennaoui absolutely owns cycling presenting.

How can I be sexist? My mother is a woman.Don't be so quick to judge, some people just don't like female presenters, but still have wives, sisters and daughters.

She’s everywhere at the minute and I can’t stand her. She once asked Usyk why his fight with Fury won’t be taking place in Ukraine, weeks after Russia invaded. An absolute tool.BBC news coverage of this is a little OTT. They have put together a list of potential replacements and it includes Kelly Cates, Kate Abdo and Laura Woods. They are all thriving in their own respective careers at other broadcasters and I’m not sure I can see them moving tbh. I’m fairly certain it will end up being an established bbc name.
Yeah been watching her for about 2 years now and she's progressing great and just naturally entertaining. Lineker is great because he's witty and generally interesting, think his replacement will do better if he/she fills those parameters rather than equallying his caps/goals etc.StuntPegg is great. She has been getting more traction and been involved in some Sky stuff on their YouTube channels.
I don't dislike women, I actually have three of my own at home.Oh man I didn't even read the whole thing. A classic to finish. Chef's kiss.

That is quite literally the dictionary definition of bigoted. You judge someone simply based on an external unrelated factor such as race or sex. Competence and ability be damned.I've heard this viewpoint for a few years now, so I ask you, why is it bigoted? It's always an easy 'get out of jail' quote for left-leaning people. We have now built them a nice kitchen to get back into so we men can get on with adult businessThe women have their game now, there's simply no need to carry on with the PC agenda of shoehorning a woman presenter into mens sport, just for the sake of it. I'm sure that women working in sports commentating are now very grateful that some bloke from the internet has defined what is and isn't suitable for them to commentate on, so they don't have to worry their pretty little heads about it.I find it a very narrow viewpoint when people instantly label others as 'bigoted' simply because it doesn't fit to their liberal agenda. Right out of the "I have a black friend so I can't be a racist" playbook. A ridiculous "argument".Don't be so quick to judge, some people just don't like female presenters, but still have wives, sisters and daughters.
What's irritating about her?I’ve never seen her before, but she’s incredibly irritating. It’s almost like a parody of documentary
It is a kind of parody on the way people typically talk about football but she has a deadpan delivery and great wit. Possibly not everyone's cup of tea but no one will be.I’ve never seen her before, but she’s incredibly irritating. It’s almost like a parody of documentary
Are you sleeping with your cat?How can I hate women? My cat is one.
First I've seen her do stuff like that tbh. She's usually doing bits on Sky like this:I’ve never seen her before, but she’s incredibly irritating. It’s almost like a parody of documentary
I just listened to that clip and she seemed fine. Better than most of the idiot former footballers we often have to listen to.What's irritating about her?
She does have that that kind of Philomena Cunk-esque delivery which isn't for everyone which I get.It is a kind of parody on the way people typically talk about football but she has a deadpan delivery and great wit. Possibly not everyone's cup of tea but no one will be.

I mean it kind of shows the absolute reverse of Jock's 'argument' in that one clip. She is great and seems very knowledgable and articulate.
Not a fan of her deadpan, slightly condescending delivery. Gives me ‘Brass Eye’ vibes and I’m not sure if she is being serious or slightly satirical. What's irritating about her?

The editing is also very clunky, just as an aside which doesn’t help the overall feel of her film. It’s very amateur and I don’t know how that translates to a slick long running production like MoTD. (Bearing in mind this is the first time I’ve heard of her, and I’m judging entirely on the linked video which renders my opinion largely irrelevant )
Yeah, she speaks much better on the clip from Sky. Almost embarrassed for the guys (don’t know who they are either) that she makes such a well reasoned and knowledgeable arguement for Bastoni and they are just like ‘yeah luv, but no - Mbappe’.That's fair enough but I think you have to remember it's YouTube. She probably edits, creates, scripts and researches everything by herself.

I think this is a good point. At the very least it would require a real departure from the current format of the show. She might be more suited to something like Football Focus or MoTDxStuntpegg is good but she would be wasted as a main presenter. Don't think she could go into analysis as she currently does.

I can't be bigoted pal I've got a mum.
Yeah I was getting that too, but I’ve never watched that either - only seen clips so I wasn’t sure enough to say.Not sure if I'd agree with irritating, but there are definitely shades of Philomena Cunk.

I did wonder when I replied to the ‘she’d be wasted’ comment above if maybe it could shift to a top gear style programme. The presenters and pundits sat amongst a studio audience, make it more conversational and involve the fans rather than old men sat around going ‘we think this and we’re the experts’. Maybe given the time it goes out because of the embargoes on highlights it could be a bit more adult although I’m not sure what form that would take. Something akin to a late night Soccer AM. Football is entertainment these days so make it entertaining.Stunttpegg has been great for years.
Her humor is dry and satirical. I think it's hilarious, but would certainly be a change for mainstream TV. But it's needed, you're going to fail miserable by trying to replace Lineker as a like for like. It's an impossible job, so i'd retire MOTD in its current format and bring it back more akin to these popular informal podcast or fan led debates.
I think a less informal presenter is required, that's the way media is now being consumed. Look at success of Lineker's podcast, Micah/Abdo/Henry CBS coverage, the Neville/Wrighty/Keane podcast, and possibly the best football media currently available in Athletic FC vodcast Joe Devine/JJ Bull/Jon Mackenzie.
I'd honestly be looking at replacing Lineker with a few faces and a keep in a few pro's for the insight - the discussion and questions would be much better.
I agree it’ll be a safe pair of hands, an obvious and very bbc move, but I don’t agree with your first assertion. YouTube is just another platform and if somebody shows talent the bbc is exactly the kind of organisation who will snap them up.You’ll never have some obscure YouTuber fronting one of the biggest shows on prime time BBC.
It’ll be a ‘safe pair of hands’ appointment like Chapman or gabby Logan.
It doesn’t. You watch for the highlights, not the presenter.Don't understand why it matters if it would be a man or woman as lead presenter for MOTD
