Gareth Bale Transfer Speculation | Done

Dunno personally if prices have gone up so much that a guy who has achieved next to nothing what Ronaldo had either performance wise or actually recognized through awards, is now worth c£15m more than what we sold Ronaldo for. Was a great price at the time, and obviously Real are going a bit mental as well which has to be factored, but wonder if we maybe could have held out for more. Though maybe we were also trying to be fair to Ronaldo. Fergie asked for one more year, got it and then we let him go at a very good price, though perhaps not the very best we could have gotten.

I'm pretty sure he has a killer ball in him.

Great video. There are passes in there that Bale simply couldn't produce. People need to get over the hype somewhat and recognise Bale for what he is - an incredible player, certainly, but with a fair way to go before being close to Ronaldo's level.

It's the prices being cited for Bale that are silly, not Ronaldo's that was too low. £80m back then was staggering. No one at the time would have even considered suggesting that we should have got more. And that was cash up front, which is generally the equivalent of adding about 10% to the price if it was a normal over-time fee.

Well that's what I was saying about it being a mix of Real going mental and also us maybe not holding out for as much as could have gotten because Ronaldo had stuck to what we'd asked, which was for one more season, and so we got a excellent price without perhaps the best. In the grand scheme of things I agree though it's clearly Bale's fee being way ott than us really loosing out on Ronaldo.

Goodbye Bale, maybe God didn't want us selling such a great player to madrid after ronaldo so maybe thats why we didnt sign you before tottenham got you. I loved your hairstyle and great pace and you'll always be apart of me. I love you now and forever.
Yours truly, Relevated.

You've been able to get Bale 11 on the back of Madrid kits all day on the official website.

Unveiled tomorrow?

Everyone is just patiently waiting so that they can burst into laughter

Are there any threads on the Caf not filled with people pining for Ronaldo?

My word Hectic, that is some video.

Must say it's saddening to watch though. Any small hope of getting him back is worth us clinging to.

His passing is certainly much better than I'd credited him for. Again, I want to cry now.

I imagine I could probably get "RectumSniffer 8" on the back of a Madrid shirt if I tried... they must be signing that German attacking midfielder David Rectumsniffer tomorrow too.

On the official website, I don't know if they'd allow to have any name on the back of their shirts. Unless someone hacked it for the fun of it.

The Bale transfer is key...

It will result in Madrid selling off 3-4 quality players IMO.

E.g. Ronaldo ;)

Reminiscent of Chelsea sticking Robinho on their site.
We all know how that ended up.

Crazy price but I imagine he will prove worth it over the long term.

Very frustrating we can't get the best British talent in 10 years, especially considering our inability to attract the best foreign talents, even when we try.

Madrid think they're signing Bale.

For 91m Euros cash (£78m) according to Pedrerol's editorial crew on Punto Pelota. They sounded confident of the deal and the numbers

Bale to get 5m Euros / year net wages - that's about 11m pre-tax - the same as Ramos and Casillas.

Some of the other press think Spurs took the stage payment deal worth around 99m Euros / £85m.

There does seem to be a belief now in Spain that the deal is done.

What the hell has Gareth Bale done to be purchased for that amount of money ? If it happens.

Real Madrid bought the current world footballer of the year for £80 million. He had already led us to 2 Champions League finals, one of which we won. Won 3 league titles on the spin in a time when the EPL could genuinely claim to be the best and most competitive in the world. Add an FA Cup and 2 League Cups as well.

Gareth Bale has won the square root of feck all.

The world is mad, mad I tells you.

Well, that was depressing :(
People constantly underrate his general play and ability on the ball. The comparisons of his ability on the ball always makes me laugh. He's a phenomenon. shoulder fecking passes

So madrid have spent a total of 150 million pounds on bale and kaka (the shit version).

Jesus, this thread is genuinely bringing out the full crazy. Bale's been hyped for years now but feck me, best British talent in 10 years?!

Sorry, I stopped paying attention to this a while ago, but is this actually seriously happening for the reported prices, or largely figures just made up by the papers.

Haha exactly!

He has so much in his locker it is unbelievable. I remember his 42 goal season and being stunned by the sheer diversity of goals:

The celebration of the free-kick against Sporting  gets me every time, the beautiful arrogant bastard.

I remember Gary Neville saying a few weeks back that when one moves (Bale, Rooney or Suarez) it'll trigger other deals in quick succession. It'll be interesting to see how things unfold in the next few days if Bale does go today...

It'd be just like Levy to drag things to the last day though.
