Gareth Bale | Mourinho: "Game over. Now everyone knows he's going to stay."

I will be interested to see if Bale can regain his best form this season. Asensio and Isco's emergence will cut his playing time at Madrid, which is probably a good thing for his career. His persistent injuries seem to indicate his body needs to be managed more carefully. Other players getting games will mean Bale can rest more. He might not like it on a personal level but long-term it might be good for him. It seems pointless for him to continue this cycle of rushing back and getting reinjured.

If he doesn't go this season he will almost certainly go next, I think it's obvious to everyone he is not going to be the player that replaces CR7

With Bale it's more than football. It has to do with marketing and Perez's ego. While injuries and the way football is played in Spain have prevented Bale from being the success Madrid envisioned when they purchased him, he still is a massive box office draw as arguably the best English language player of the last years. Only Ronaldo sells more Madrid jerseys worldwide and when Madrid are in the US, Bale is always on the posters and marketing material.

At the MU vs RM game in America I noticed Bale easily got the biggest 'cheer' before the game.

I wouldn't mind doing a deal with RM that we work out a 'per game' value for Bale inclusive of wages, then pay at the end of each season based on appearances. RM would obviously never agree to this.

The fact that RM and their supporters are so happy to offload him should have alarm bells ringing.

Yeah a pay per play seems likely for bale. I can see this happening

Is it a fact though? I'd like to hear the Real supporters' view on this subject too.
It's not. Don't mind the fans, they're the same ones who would have sold Cristiano rather than lose Bale a year ago

The club never had any intention to sell him, at all

I don't doubt Bale is a world class player when he's fit. But I can honestly say I do not want him at United.

I can't put my finger on what makes me dislike him so much, but it feels like he thinks he can just decide when he's ready to come here.

I know there's no evidence to back my statement up, but it's when you hear the pundits and ex players with all this "not this year but maybe next"

You don't choose to play for us, you're chosen. And you accept or do one Imo.

Monkey boy can fecking do one, he thinks he's at the biggest club in the world but he ain't.

He's been wanted at United since a young boy. Chose spurs over us years ago and continue to decline our flirtation. Modern day Alan Shearer in that sense except Madrid are a champion team vs Newcastle.

I agree with you in that I don't want him either, not at the end of his career

Football is already dead according to you anyway, so why do you care?

I want to care, but I'm struggling to find reasons to be enthusiastic about anything anymore. Setting myself up for disappointment dreaming about impossible transfers we cannot possibly hope to afford is not exactly helping my mood.

Apart from his injury record and his aloofness about being at Real Madrid, I just dont like him , so I wouldnt want him at MU.

If I was his mum would you stop? Monkey Boy? Seriously? It's not even funny or witty, it's just a bit embarrassing and baffling. It adds absolutely nothing to the discussion other than a childish insult.
Calm down, I'm just taking the piss, you've told me off now so you can go about your day safe in the knowledge you've done the right thing.

It's a little bit funny.

You're definitely not overreacting here.

As he would say 'Jesus, what are you his mum'.

If every comment on an individual was simply just insulting the person rather than any basis behind it the forum would be a much worse place, sorry if that upsets you. We're talking about one of the best footballers in the world and the best thing we can use to describe him is 'monkey boy'. Absolutely mindless humour.

He did look like a chimp before he got his ears pinned.

Would you leave Real for us if you were him? I wouldn't, Real are currently comfortably the best side in the world whereas we're some-way off.

I don't think it's a bad thing that he's unobtainable for us, dare I say a "blessing in disguise (!)". I'd prefer to see us try and get more from Martial and Miki and if we're bringing someone else in, it should be someone with a better injury record and/or someone who has their best years ahead of them, not behind.

I have more respect for Neymar who left Barcelona to create his own legacy, than Bale who doesn't have the confidence to do likewise and is contented to remain a beta living in the shadows of CR7 and the fans favourite spanish players. I find it such a pity to have all that unrealised potential despite his silverware. Really think he could be a Ronaldo lite player as a centre forward with the biggest clubs in the world.

There seems to be only one person upset in this thread.

Why don't you go and fight the good fight in the Pep thread too? One of the best managers in the world and you are sure to find a shit load of people calling him a bald cnut.

I'm not upset, I've said what I thought and I stand by it.

The comment in itself basically has no substance to it, the insult just compounds it.

Hopefully this doesn't ever happen and we go for someone else next summer. He can cuddle up on the Madrid bench.

I agree, he could be what he was to Spurs and is for Wales to a lesser extent at United, rather than the perpetual Robin to Ronaldo's Batman at Real.

He went, he saw, he conquered; he's won everything in Madrid. He should try to add the Premier League title and play his part in United's revival; that will consolidate and even enhance his reputation as one of Britains best ever footballers.

He's already an uber-wealthy man, and would continue to earn an obscene amount at Old Trafford. If he likes the Iberian climate and the culture, he can move back out there in retirement; for a Welsh lad, a Cheshire mansion shouldn't be too much of a hardship for a few years.

I know he polarises opinion on here, but he's a world-class footballer who decide tight games, and you can't snub such players.

I know what you mean, I love him as a player, but his attitute (towards us) really turns me off

With ears like that is amazing he's so fast running, if he has them clipped like a doberman then he would be the fastest man on the planet
