It's a myth that Bale earns 320k a week AFTER TAX. Fake news.
You're right, it's close to £350,000. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37815951

As has been mentioned on this forum many times, the very best Madrid/Barcelona players take home some audacious fees. Our squad wage on average is a lot higher but our top earners essentially earn half of what Ronaldo/Messi/Bale et al. do.

Yeah, I'm starting to think we're in for Morata and will probably sign some winger too (so probably won't be able to get Bale), hopefully signing Morata would encourage JM to opt for a more goal scoring winger than Perisic.

He will be 28 by the start of next season and if the tabloids are even semi accurate with their £100m valuation then that seems a lot for a player of that age who game is built around explosive pace who has been injured.

It just seems a bloody big risk.. . Though in fairness it's the blazers money and as long as there was still extra money to strengthen other areas of the squad it would certainly be an exciting option....

Can't help thinking of saf though and value in the market

I get the sense we are prepared to bid hard for bale and he would consider joining us at this juncture. We'll see how this one pans out.

Zidane says he is going nowhere and I believe him.

When Madrid want to get rid of a player the character assassinations start around April.

I doubt he wants to leave either. He is at the best club in the world on insane wages winning trophies galore

I dont think Bale will leave, but when did Zidane say this?

To be honest RM wage structure makes so much more sense then ours.

We reward high salaries to our squad or young players (Lingard 100k, Januzaj 60k etc) and then we struggle to offload them or have to accept lower prices to offset their salary cost. On top of it loads of them make very close money to our superstars which is both not right to the superstars that bring in the money (TV audience, shirt sales etc.) and it can lead the youngsters to believe they've "made it" when in fact they've done feck all.

And on the other hand it potentially stops us from offering superstar salaries to the superstars.

Just saw an interview with him after the final, he was talking about how he wants to rest and get ready for next season and that the reason he went to Madrid is to win trophies. His demeanor gave no indication that he wants to leave.

Probably best to look elsewhere imo.

He would be a perfect signing for us. He's recovered from his injuries and a summer with no tournament means he'll be raring to go next season.

We could play him up top to start with and then, when Ibra is fit (or Rashford is ready) he can drop back to either 10 or left wing. He's a rare player that can win games on his own as well as inspiring his team mates to better themselves, and would instantly have us challenging for the title.

Sadly, RM also know all this and, together with his huge wages, I can't see us signing him.

I really hope at board level we have knocked this on the head early and will not waste time the summer on a player who clearly does not want to come to us.

Not sure it matters what Bale wants to do, if Real want to get rid they will.

They'd only sell him if they could replace him and thats the issue. I don't see too many potential attacking players good enough to warrant replacing Bale and attainable. Hazard is the only one so there's no point thinking about Bale unless they make a move for Hazard.

We've chased him for years and years and he's never shown any desire to come to us.

Sod him.

Once Madrid wash their hands with him I'm sure he will be delighted to join, but he be half the player by that point.

Only Ronaldo has his taxes paid and with taxes he makes 700 000 a week.

I read somewhere only Ronaldo and Messi have their taxes paid by the clubs.

I don't, and i don't know of employees who do here. Employer wihtholds the amount(which is fecking mental here in Italy btw. Our State is a worse than a loan shark)
Yeah, you're right, I misread the original message - my English let me down.

Uhm no. All those salaries are after tax. Players sign an employee contract. Employer pays the taxes on it.

Do you pay the taxes on your wages?
Well beside my job I run a business (well I used to call a side job but IRS doesn't think so), so I pay taxes on top what they take from my paycheck.

You wrong Real pays only Ronaldo taxes and if Bale was making as much why he's not even on the top 10?
Check the link I sent, has all the salaries from real players.

No i'm not. They are signed to employee contracts. When the employer pays the wages, they withhold the amount that goes into taxes, and pay that money to the tax authorities

That is how it works for employee contracts

All those numbers from the link you shared should be after tax

In the sites like totalsportstrek and sports keeda?

Check the BBC site which says Bale gets 350K per week post tax.

Bale is in 24th place with a salary of $23 million and Ronaldo with a salary of $58 million. Bale makes $442 307 a week which is about 347 564 pounds, Neymar and Messi are ahead of him.

those are their total earnings, not the wages

And either Bale makes nothing out of image rights and sponsors, or that list was redacted before his renewal last october

The time to get him was maybe 5 years ago, not now. Pushing 30 and injured, a lethal combination.

So Gareth Bale eh? With Sanchez going to City probably, Costa to Juve, Perisic being used as smokescreen obviously, not buying Morata off Madrid maybe Ed wants the GB11 on the right wing at United? Of course that means Martial loosing his shirt number two seasons in a row. Thoughts?

Nah.

Don't want any more dealings with Real Madrid and I don't know why anyone does. They'll only play along and then bully us into opening negotiations for De Gea when things are advanced. Probably the real reason the Morata deal never got anywhere.

Feck Madrid completely off and just don't consider them an option I say. Plus while Bale is brilliant, I'd feel like he was going to get injured every time he played.
