I’ve defended it a lot in here because I felt it was daft to write it off before it was finished.


feck me that was absolutely terrible.

It was just so disjointed. I couldn’t believe it that he killed her and then other than Drogon there was no real reaction to it in the early aftermath. It just cut forward to the council scene and was like “oh that’s it, they all know and it’s ok?”


It would have made much more sense if they rolled the credits as Drogon flew off with Dany and the rest of it was just that typical “after the credits bonus scenes”.


In fact it would have been better still if they went all Line of Duty with the ending and just had a few cut scenes with white captions underneath explaining what happened next.

Just realised that last scene from Varys before being killed turned out to be completely useless and a waste of 5 minutes.

That's part of my whole annoyance with Jon's character. The importance of his true lineage felt like it was just to set up conflict with Dany, it didn't really develop beyond that.

Only the last couple of seasons, first six were good, first 4 were Top notch. Even the 7th season wasn't so bad compared to this piece of garbage.
It sucked badly because there was no source material. WOT series books are complete.

Having Cersie destroy a whole fecking city was up there.

They just about got away with that finale I thought. The rest of the season ducked it up and any scene this year with Bronn.

Jesus, I was anticipating a pretty mediocre ending because the hype and expectation was just too high but damn they completely fecked it up.

The Daenerys ending was so badly done and then the cut to the council meeting weeks later? almost laughable.

They should have scrapped an earlier episode and had a full episode after the slaughter of Kings Landing to see the reactions and how 'crazy' Daenerys acted but it felt like 5 minutes worth of screen time after she burned the city down she was killed off.

I was hoping for Jamie surviving the rubble and somehow sneaked in the throne room, watching the destruction of Kings landing on his way up and stabbing Danny from behind. That would have been perfect.

There were so many ways to do it, it is amazing how they chose the worst.

Starks, how pathetic of them to keep telling Jon Snow he is the real heir to the Iron Throne, pushed him to proclaim it, made him murder Danny and yet none spoke his name in the Dragon Pit.

I am 808 pages late to the party and i presume that it was all mentioned here but i must say it all.
1) Awful ending and awful season with dozens plot holes
2) When they pick new king, nobody said; "Hey, Jon has claim to be the king. When unsullied go, we will make him a king"
3) How many bloody Dothraki came with Dany? Jamie once said 100k, but no way that is the right number. She had 1000 ships. And on one Dothraki goes one horse. My guess is 30k? Maybe 40k max
4) Biggest irony in the show is that Daenerys could in first episode in season 7 take KL with 3 dragons and her full army.
5) D&D ruined best tv show ever. If they take best movie saga ever( Star wars) they will ruin that too.

That is it. I just wanted to say all that. If somebody have something to say about Dothraki number, please do. . Now i will start reading these 808 pages

They could have easily made it Jon's decision to reject the throne instead opting to let the lords decide, which would have maintained his legacy as the literal song of Ice and fire, but I guess they needed Tyrion to be the smart one and recommend it. Then he fecked it up by suggesting Bran, but there you go. We live in a world where people voted for Trump and May.

I’ve not really criticised the show so far and just tried to enjoy it. But that final episode was so disappointing. I don’t necessarily mind what happened to most of the individual characters but how they got there was pretty crap and could have been done so much better. I could see what they were trying to do but some really crap scenes and clunky dialogue were evident throughout.

It's like a journey, but towards the end they decided to cut it down to the stops along the way.

My god. That was.. Dont know what to say. First half was a bit ok. Scenes were great tbh but Danny's speech was so silly. She speaking about freeing all people after she razed King's Landing was.. Well to be expected from a woman who went batshit crazy. Murder scene was.. Jon just went there armed and proceeded to kill her without a single Unsullied there and Drogon? He didnt kill Jon cause he's a Targaryen or what?
Like how Drogon himself realized on the spot Iron throne is the source of all evel and wars in Seven kingdoms so he burned it.
Danny ending like that, a bit meh, after all she's been through. Her getting killed so easily is a big let down. One moment she's giving a big speech the other she gets killed while prophecing love to Jon.
Also I still laugh at how many of Unsullied and Dothraki are alive after the battle for Winterfell. Maybe they all came after that?

Council.. What to say.. Unsullied kept Jon Snow as a prisoner for few weeks instead of killing him? Same with Tyrion? And it was what, ok you killed Danny, we will keep you locked for some short time. Or it was a bit longer.
And why would Unsullied kept them after Danny was killed. They're sellswords and Grey Worm was deciding if they can decide on the king. Not to mention Jon had to go to Night watch cause Grey Worm insisted. I mean what's that about? Why would he do it, why would Grey Worm decide on that. Silly.
I like how in that council there were 2, 3 guys I dont have a clue who are they. Who's that Dorne guy who just smiled a lot, and 2 other guy with beard I think, what houses are they?
Davos saying Unsullied should populate a land and start a new house. What? Were the writers stoned while writing this stuff?
Bran as a king. That was just lazy. Just as his - Why do you think I went all this was - or what was it. All that story for him to become a king and it seems he's not even up for it.
And Sansa saying North will be indepentent. So what's up with that, North gained independence in that moment or she said it like, we're not gonna be messed with?

Small council in the end, ok they wanted it to end with all them smiling and having fun but it was a bit sleezy. Bronn as a Master of Coin..

Starks going all on their separate ways was ok I guess, show started with Starks and ended with them if you still consider Jon a Stark and he basically still is, although of course not by blood.
Where are him and Free folk going now there are no White walkers?

All in all it was all so rushed, just like someone said, oh gosh we have just half an hour left, lets put everything there and tie lose ends. It was like an ending of LOTR part 3 where they were saying goodby to each other for half an hour it seemed. Ok we get it.

The last two seasons have had all the major moments you'd expect in a season but without the build ups, which would have also given them more time to set situations up properly. Imagine these seasons with these moments but written more naturally. feck man...

Thinking about it today, it wasn't as bad as I initially thought it was last night, when the words "Dexter" and "lumberjack" were leaping to mind.

I already liked everything up until the point the dragon fecked off. Now the final ending for the different characters is sitting better with me too. It's a good end to their individual stories, it just wasn't a particularly dramatic one. Really it was the summit and council scenes that screwed the episode for me though.

Where yesterday I thought the ending was straight up terrible, now I think the same basic endpoints could have been fine if they'd executed it better. Which is probably my complaint for the season as a whole really. I liked pretty much all the broad beats and set pieces but the way the writers carried us from one to the other was, well.....

It was like an ending of LOTR part 3 where they were saying goodby to each other for half an hour it seemed. Ok we get it.

My Mrs said the same, it was basically a rip off of Frodo saying goodbye to Sam, Merry and Pippin before sailing off to the Greyhavens.
