Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Seeing down Cersei's dress is a memory I shall forever be taking with me to my grave, alongside her dead son.

As heterophobic as this may sound, I was actually watching little Joffrey get what has been coming to him, and completely neglected Cerseis glorious tits. This sounds like it needs to be made into a gif.

There was a serious amount of eye-flicking from side to side in that scene. Didn't know where to look!

I forgot how amazing this show is. It's been consistently brilliant too, I can't think of a single episode over the past three other seasons that I felt the quality of the show dropped. Can't wait for the next episode!
Exactly. The performance level of each episode is so consistently high, that I never find one episode distinctly superior to another. That's a rarity for a television show.

I'm surprised many shows don't take the lead of Game Of Thrones and have a set amount of episodes for each season. The general consensus is the fewer amount of episodes with a longer reel time is better than a show with far too many episodes and not much reel time for each time. The Walking Dead and Lost were prime examples of shows suffered from having drawn out seasons filled with too much filler.

Sticking with ten episodes a season is the type of template that will maintain GOT's high standard for years. Of course, the plot, writing, dialogue and acting cast is incredible, but they can't go wrong if they stick to that template.

RIP sweet prince...

This shall cure you.

At least one of his last moments was having a glance at his mother's tits. The Lannisters are incredibly incestuous anyway so he probably died with a hard-on.

There were some flashbacks of Ned Stark and also some flashforwards ?
I'm talking about the giant dragon flying what looked like King's Landing.

Yeah! Sure they've shown the throne room in Kings Landing destroyed and covered in snow like that before as well.

Ah here it is

What I liked about this episode (apart from the obvious) is that they already have his replacement as chief bar steward lined up and primed to take on the mantle (good forward planning that because let's face it, he will be missed).

That opening scene with the dogs was horrible. This guy is whole 'nother level of depraved shitbag.

I hadnt even made that link until now.

Last week;

"Lots of people name their swords"
"Lots of cnuts."

Then this week;

Joffrey: "My sword needs a name!"

That is a great little detail.

Agree. Another good one was after they cut from Theon to Tyrion eating and someone served him a sausage that was being cut.

I noticed that! Looking forward to next weeks episode.

Fantastic episode. Glad the cnut is gone.

Probably should reduce the Dreadfort rating. Ramsay is worse than Joffrey, although it seems that Theon deserved it, it's all too a bit playful. I don't think it has come out very well in this episode. We'll have to see if Ramsay will terrorize Theon even more.
That seems to be the way Ramsay is though. Even the torture scenes were very playful (you know what I mean). I'll give you that 9/10 may have been too high, but I really enjoyed how the story progressed in this episode.

Surely they'll all work out pretty sharpish that it wasn't actually Tyrion? If they drag out them thinking he's the culprit for several episodes I'll be a bit disappointed.

Can't tell if Theon has gone completely bonkers or if he's putting on a bit of an act. With Joffrey gone, Ramsay's now the clear cnut of the show.

Enjoyed the scene beyond the wall with Bran. Hopefully Stanis doesn't take too long to march towards the north otherwise I might get bored of his story.

The wedding party scene was brilliant. Loved the scenes between Joffrey & Tyrion and then the death!! Whereas at the Red Wedding I was completely shocked and saddened, here I felt nothing but joy. Of course this now means there's going to be severe repercussions, can't wait to see what happens.

Have to give credit to the lad who played Joffrey. Did a brilliant job portraying the little cnut.

I'm going to watch it again because I watched it on my phone live using an app.

Yeah agree with Ramsey being worse than Joffrey. They are both inherently evil, but the Bolton's seem to nurture that characteristic.

That was a terrific episode, Joffrey was a great character and was played perfectly.

Oh my, I've just figured out who did it.

If I remember correctly, we had a recently promoted newbie who went by the name of Tyrion_Lannister. As he is one of the prime suspects for the murder, and with full knowledge that he was the one who committed it, Tyrion_Lannister in his madness attempted to hold redcafe to ransom, attempting to reveal his masterplan of murdering the king. In a bout of bravery, the mods banished him from the Red-lands, so that the secret may be hidden from the Tv viewers, until it shall be revealed later on.

Damn you mods, and damn my Sherlock-like senses, they really are the bane of my life.

BAN + REAL DEATH FOR THIS GUY!!!!

I think Joffrey is worse, simply because he was able to pick on more prominent wholesome characters abusing his power and drunk on that power he sought acknowledgement from nobody. He would even disrespect his grandfather, without whom he would have died long ago and have been a nobody.

In the end Ramsey is trying to impress his father and is currently only able to pick on minor characters and other shady ones like Theon. Given the same power as Joffrey I suspect he'd be even more twisted yes

Anyone still in "what the feck" mode?
Still am and I suspect we are going to be after the end of every episode. Two episodes into the season so far and it's absolutely superb.

Joffrey, although being a massive cnut was played brilliantly. I like Tyrion a lot though, hope it's not him who did it as he's one of the few characters left that I like. fecking show kills all the damn characters I like!

My speculation on who killed Joffrey:

there's no shortage of contenders. With the fool taking away Sansa it suggests he may have had something to do with it but that would be too obvious. Similarly I don't think Tyrion is the culprit.

I'm guessing it's someone at the table who slipped something in the cup. Perhaps a Tyrell, but why would they kill now and lose access to the throne? A less obvious choice could be Tyrion's whore. She's pissed about having to leave and perhaps thought killing the King will give her the chance to stay. But, I don't think she would have access to that specific cup to poison it.

Maybe Oberin did something? He was quite pissed at the Lannisters in the first episode. But again, assuming the wine was poisoned at the table, I'm not sure how he would have access to the specific cup.

I hope they reveal the killer soon...

Dontos was definitely involved somewhere in the assassination plot, though probably not as the mastermind. He'd be a pointless character otherwise and it would be a hell of a coincidence that he just happened to have an escape route waiting for Sansa just when shit was starting to get real.

Who else wants Sansa safe other than the old lady?
Someone who offered her passage back in season 3.

Why do you think it's the cup and not the pie?

I'm sad that he died. Possibly my favourite character on the show. Every scene of his was absolutely hilarious.

if it was the pie, wouldn't others have been poisoned too? The cup was specific to Joffrey, although I could be wrong.
