Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

My favourite Joffrey moments were the small, petty, vindictive ones, like when he took away Tyrion's stool during his wedding. What a bastard...

I quite liked him. He created so many interesting plot twists with his actions. Actually, I don't have any sympathy for any "good" guys on the show. Except Arya. She is a very brave and intelligent kid. Ramsay Snow, Tywin Lannister, Cersie, Lord Bolton, that warg, these are the characters that make it such a rivetting show.
Great point. If anything bad will happen to Cersie or even Sir Jaime that will be a detriment to this wonderful storyline full of great bad characters.

I'm going to tell you all who did it, feck the police....

Hodor.
No, in all seriousness it was
Hodor
Only kidding of course. It was actually
Hodor.
Hodor.
Hodor.

It was actually this guy. Throne is his now.

Maybe we will have more characters. The fact that this is just the fourth season(sourced from the end of the third book according to the producers of the show) and the show is killing off characters left and right means that they have more bad characters up their sleeves.

It was a great way for him to go out. He got the last 15 minutes of the episode all to himself to act like a complete bastard!

I hope that will be the case and also hoping that we won't get tired of them, even at this killing rate right from the season 1.

To be honest, I was little disappointed that again Sean Bean had to die so quickly but it's just a little complaint among so many pros this show possess.

I felt Eddard Stark had such a perfect opportunity to tell the public that Joffrey is a child of Jamie and Cersie, that he is not a rightful heir. Knowing Joffrey, I knew that he would not pardon Ned Stark. Even after being sentenced to death, Ned Stark had quite a few moments to shout out the truth and feck up Joffrey. He probably might have survived or atleast made life difficult for Joffrey. He made so many people suffer, least of all his daughter Sansa!

Very satisfying ending, had to watch it again a few times. Got to be one of the most despised characters on tv.

To be honest, seeing Melisandre on a throne (because Stannis is her biatch) would be extremely interesting with her Religious Order and sophisticated means to deal with her enemies.

Don't ya think ?

Dark magic to counter Danny's dragons? That would be interesting! But that would also probably be too much fantasy and too less of hateful schemes and characters. Humans are the worst. We need humans to feck up everybody else in the show.

I was hoping his death would be at the hands of Arya chopping his head off

Me too, then I realised this is GoT and this isnt your standard good guy avenging something the bad guy does at the end.

Speculation about the killer of 'The Joff' and a possible reason why (put in spoilers because I know some people prefer to avoid such things).

I'm not sure how the line of succession works now that Joffrey is dead. I'm wondering if somehow Tywin had a hand in it in order to pile the responsibility for the loans from the Iron Bank onto the Tyrell family (assuming of course that Margaery is the new sole monarch). The Iron Bank got a rare mention earlier in the episode when Tywin was talking to Olenna. Of course this theory falls to shit if it isn't Margaery who inherits the throne. Meh.

Cersei has a younger son named Tommen.

If only Joffrey had a lust for chicken like the Dog instead the feckin pies...

One more good line in latest episode - 'Who the feck is Jon Snow ?!'

S04E02 review: [with a few minor specualtions about the future - Modmin edit to add spoiler tags]

Dreadfort
I really enjoyed this part. It furthered the Theon-getting-what-he-deserves-storyline by showing his transition from under torture to basically a servant. Ramsay came off looking like a heartless cnut and Roose as a bit more sympathetic. I also feel this will tie into the Bran storyline, which would be great storytelling as Theon previously held Winterfell captive. 9/10

Beyond the Wall
I guess this gave us a clear indication of what Bran will do next, continue heading north. This story was given little time but accomplished just enough. It's sort of being played out slowly which is fine as the audience will be interested in the mystery with the raven. As a B-story, it does just enough. Jojen and Meera seem very generic though and don't add much to this. If I'm going to be fully invested in the story, they better show of personality traits. Good, but not great. 7/10

Dragonstone
I just loved this. The main story was King's Landing, but this truly made the episode special. Such great acting from all involved, and Melisandre continues to grow. She's easily one of my favourite characters by now. Stephen Dillane did a terrific job as Stannis and even Selyse had some great dialog. Melisandre's conversation with Shireen was just creepy enough but did not give away too much. I really enjoyed the comment about her having "also suffered". Melisandre is all about mysteries and riddles, therefore let the audience guess what her deal and background is. They did just that. 10/10

King's Landing
There was so much going on here, and I liked all of it. Jaime continues to show vulnerability, as he should, adjusting to life without a right hand. I've never been to fond of Shae but the "breakup" was excellent and you could really tell how much Tyrion was hurting when he called her a whore. This was arguably Jack Gleeson's best performance as Joffrey. His interactions with Tyrion continue to be absolutely brilliant. Prince Oberyn, Varys, Loras and Tywin also added to the King's Landing story in their respective ways. I believe Cersei is the most evil of the Lannisters and I do also believe she was the one that posioned her son. She seemed unusually calm and happy throughout the wedding fiest while everyone else was thrown off Joffrey's antics. Of course it could've merely been the pleasure of watching Tyrion get humiliated, but there was definitely something else going on with her. Either way, she'll want Tyrion dead now, Tywin may not. Jaime did not hate his brother, but loves his sister, so he can side with whoever. It has the potential of some excellent Lannister drama. 10/10

All in all a great episode. 10/10

I think it will his younger brother who inherits the throne as Joff has no legal heir of his own.

Even having read the books and knowing what was about to happen tonight, seeing that bastard lay dead on the floor was very satisfying. The actor has done a great job of coming across as a total cnut.

I forgot how amazing this show is. It's been consistently brilliant too, I can't think of a single episode over the past three other seasons that I felt the quality of the show dropped. Can't wait for the next episode!

Wasn't The Hound who said cnuts name their swords ? It seemed apt with Joffrey.

I hadnt even made that link until now.

Last week;

"Lots of people name their swords"
"Lots of cnuts."

Then this week;

Joffrey: "My sword needs a name!"

That is a great little detail.
