Death list

The Hound, cersei and Jamie all dead. Anyone missed?

Wow ... That was amazing.

Best Episode of the season so far. Events leading upto the death of Varys were brilliantly shot. Everything was better than the first 4 episodes.

Don't understand Arya's purpose going to the Kings Landing to be honest.

She wanted to be the one to kill Cersei, because of her list. But as a plot point, she will be so scarred by the whole experience that she will turn Jon against Dany, even if he hasn't been turned already.

I fear Jon Snow will be the last person to sit on the Iron Throne, no chance. It will probably be Tyrion

My guess:

It's neither Jon nor Tyrion, who spent a lot of this episode looking like a man who wants to get burned alive by a crazy lady. I think Sansa will be queen with Gendry as an outside bet for king.

Arya was pointless and Jaime should’ve been the one to kill Cersei but they went a completely different direction with that.

The writing is so bad but the spectacle is amazing. Not a fan of this season overall. Some bizarre choices in terms of the narrative.

On an up note, they finally found a way to leverage Kit Harrington's one look.

She has absolutely no claim to the throne other than being related to Jon. Even then it would probably go to Bran before her.

As a general rule the less he and Clarke have to say, the better. Also the less they interact with each other, the better.

Watching them kiss reminds me of Mark Kermode saying that Orlando Bloom & Kiera Knightley getting together in Pirates of the Caribbean was like watching two deck chairs mating.

It was only easy cos she didn't give a f anymore about anybody or anything
Before was a different case

Last episode and..
Danys at the wheel, how does it feel? Bollocks, not my Queen. Hope the bitch dies, what she's done is unforgivable. She's mad.

I say it how I see it mate. The show used to be very well written.

Yeah maybe I say argue the cinematography or whatever was great but nothing you’ve not seen before from the show.

I went from Team Night King to Team Dany and am sticking. She has been screwed over non stop and was right about everyone's intentions, but still listened to her "wise advisors" - who then try to feck her over anyway.

Let them all burn

“my advice for episode 5, find the biggest tv you can”. For what? There wasn’t anything particularly huge we haven’t seen before. Overall quite a poor episode but at least they are sort of heading back towards the political intrigue but my god I hope someone kills
Dani, they’ve done a good job of turning her in to someone you just hate now.

Still doesn't make sense. She should have fulfilled some purpose. Utterly useless to be honest.

I just hope the people going out of their way to complain aren't in a timezone that requires them to stay up into the early hours of the morning to catch the show. If they are then they're really wasting their time. Hate watching is fun but it isn't something you should be that invested in.

Say what they want, it's only opinion.

But that was epic in scale, and much better than anything since Hardhome in terms of sheer brutality for me.
Yeah don't mind but just saying you can tell which ones wanna go straight for the negatives when posting Vs those who want to enjoy

Although arguing that point after coming on here just to say it was fecking shit. Yep ;)

I don't mind how people view it. Just thought it was funny as those who are negative now (mostly) are OTT negative

I thought it was great. Love seeing everyone's predictions go wrong. Dany has been on a downward spiral for a while (since before this season) and has been given different forms of advice/and everyone betray her. But I was shocked when she decides to burn everyone, Cersei has Jaime's baby so I don't blame him. With Dany deciding to do it all herself/cleanse the place she showed the true power of the dragon. I think none of the characters expected Dany to act like this and now she has so much power..

Also the cinematography for Cleganebowl was something else..

Exactly. I didn't start watching this show for pretty background pictures and screen savers. I watched it cos it was interesting and well written and acted. Now it is literally just as many action shots as possible to over look the writing/story.

Also saying it's a great episode is fine in context. The entire season is a shambles and this episode was a product of the absolute mess the show has become. It was good compared to what came just before it, but not good overall.

And looking good cinematically is not the same as good episode in my opinion

She served her purpose by accompanying the hound, would have been quite weird to just follow him on his way to kill his brother. They also got a chance to say goodbye, with her proving that he was always trying to look after her, closing of their story.

And? I don't think those moaning about the people moaning come off as any better tbh.

Just don't give a feck what people say. Unless it's me of course, I spent the whole episode thinking that woman was Jaqen, then the horse. So clearly I'm watching the right show.

She has absolutely no claim to the throne other than being related to Jon. Even then it would probably go to Bran before her.

That's why I mentioned Gendry being King. He would logically be the person with the best claim to the throne and assuming Arya doesn't change her mind on marriage then Sansa would be a logical choice for queen.

One thing I'm sure of, Bran ain't gonna suddenly decide to stop being weird long enough to be king.

It's just a little mindless massacre. She's still good. She's still good.

Yeah, she forgot to put the breaks on. It's like when you leave something cooking for too long but realise too late and the whole thing is ruined anyway

I have not been expecting a narrative masterclass since Season 6, so that part is irrelevant to me. But I really liked some of the arcs and generally thought the episode was good. I know people say Jaime's redemption was a waste, actually wasn't. It perfectly captured how conflicted he has always been. He was never sure which side of the line he was on, but now he knew, now he did what he felt was right. It was beautifully done for me. Dany's heel turn could have been done progressively I suppose, but she did say she will rule by fear, so that made it clear what she was gonna do. The hound and Mountain one was decent, more of a gore fest, but expected really.

Arya annoyed me though. Not sure what was happening with her, she got a few people killed with her silliness and then rides off into the sunset with a horse/pony that came out of nowhere. I am sure it is supposed to be symbolic of something, just don't know what.

However, I have one minor qualm, actually, it's not a qualm, more of a nit-pick, but I felt the music in this episode was a let down. Had they nailed it, would have been an even better episode than Episode 3.

As I said I'm not moaning, an observation on my part.
Just find it funny that people watch to post negatives rather than some semblance of a balance

Fair enough. I’ll be more specific next time.

The writing of this episode was shit.

The cinematography was amazing.

City was already sacked and defeated. It was just a massacre. I can't believe she is the character I adored. Hate her for doing that.

I hope Tyrion does something sensible and decisive once for a change.

Were you not laughing at Clegane Bowl? Or the end to Jaime/Cerci? Or the end to Euron?
To the end of euron yes (imagine that's not the end though) end of other two I had no issues with. Was just glad it wasn't Romeo and Juliet style death for the lannisters
