Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

But surely by now you know how the Game of Thrones universe works. It builds up and builds up and just when you think you know what's going to happen there's a sudden twist and it all comes crashing back down. I wouldn't be surprised if Arya does eventually die, the way it's gone so far.
Hope so.
She still has Sansa, Bran and Rickon. Plus Jon.

And saying the whole family was slain and she wants revenge makes it sound a bit simple. The family characters were given a lot of development and most people liked them so the audience wants to see Arya get her revenge.

I know I do. That Frey bastard better get his comeuppance.
Frey and others need to be punished but not by an infant alone. That would be fecking lame.

Why don't people like Daenerys? I think she's a great character who's really grown from the early episodes of the show, though I can't see her simply waltzing her way to the throne without any interruptions or problems, as she has been doing so far.
She's a dull self-righteous bitch, every scene she's in is boring with boring characters and terrible dialogues. Her story never gets anywhere.

Glad this is back!

Good episode considering it had to set up all the characters again. Each season seems to get off to a (relatively) slow start because of that but it was pretty well done.

The new guy they cast as Daario seems much less annoying than the Andy Carroll guy.

Good episode. Thought that first scene was superb, with the Stark music fading into the Lannister theme as he burnt the sword.

Oberyn was easily the best part of the episode. Interested to see what happens when he meets The Mountain.

I can see it being something that builds up towards some sort of epic fight between the two but subverts it by having Oberyn just kill him quickly. Like the last scene in Equilibrium when Christian Bale cuts that guys face off.

Can anyone tell me the name of the cannibal with Tormund? I did not hear it during the episode..

Arya and hound scenes were good, the smile she gives after killing that guy was epic..

Cercei is a real bitch right, moaning about Jamie being captured..

Good start but quite expected IMO.

Spent the weekend watching some reruns of the previous season. I've concluded 'The Rains of Castamere' is arguably the single greatest episode in television history.

I'm really hoping they reconsider that approach. Loved having the option to watch it with America to avoid any spoilers, and no ad breaks was a welcome addition (although I forward the ads anyway).

Hopefully it's just a matter of time; Sky seem to be doing these simulcasts slightly more often on special occasions - the finales of Lost and Fringe, now Thrones, and in May they're doing it again with the season opener of 24. Sky Sports simulcasts Raw every week with the US broadcaster, so maybe we'll eventually see full season simulcasts - particularly if Sky really are concerned with losing viewers to those evil downloads.

Was it just me or did Sky Atlantic keep the fact that they were simulcasting a bit quite? Only found out about midnight, was pretty happy that I didn't have to wait up for the torrent (which I would have downloaded for investigative purposes only).

I saw they were doing it on a news site a week or more ago, but hadn't seen anything more about it at all. If they were promoting it, then I must have missed them as it seemed to just reference the 9pm Monday slot.

Styr, the Magnar (lord) of Thenn

"If anymore cnut words come out of your mouth I'm going to eat every fecking chicken in here."

haha, loved the episode as an opener. But its a whole feckin week now before the next, ahhh! Cant wait. Gives me something to look forward to on Monday evenings.

I'm not sure if I find the Hound's brutal honesty more entertaining, or Bronn's snark. Both fantastic.

Oberyn is great, loved the fact they showed he's openly bisexual (it shows how more liberal the Dornish are, sexually).

Arya and the Hound awesome as always. I love the Hound's scenes with both Sansa and Arya.

Love the Magnar of Thenn. He even freaks the other wildlings out.

Joffrey still a little shit.

Good start. So looking forward to the rest.

Did people realise Dorne is part of the seven kingdoms or not? Can't remember if it's been established in the show.
