Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

"Lots of people name their swords"
"Lots of cnuts"

Bloody hell, thought there was still another 15 mins to go in the episode

Great opening epside, the Dawnish storyline entering sounds so promising to stir up some drama; it's going to be an epic season.

One thing to point out ,and I was the only person who caught onto it when watching: John Snow's voice anybody?

Liked that first episode.

The dragons have got massive!

Tyrion is still great, Joffrey remains a cnut. Jamie waving his hand . I'm glad the man-beast reminded Jamie he owes a debt to Sansa, hopefully she gets more protection this season with Jamie & Tyrion looking out for her.

Going by first impressions, I think I'm going to like this Prince Oberin dude.

Loved there were no breaks. Wish Sky would simulcast this every week :(

Dornish.. and what's wrong with his voice ?
Edit : I pay very close attention to Jon Snow

Just an episode to tease us in then :D few satisfying bits and a few reminders of the people we hate. I was hoping to be able to get behind the hound, it was obvious from the start he was going to be likeable, he has some fantastic scenes.

It felt like it was a much higher pitch than normal, and sounded a lot less smooth than normal. I'm just listening to clips from him in previous seasons and I swear it has changed.

Ygrette's accent was toned down too.

Yeah, noticed this too. I found it quite odd to be honest. Do you agree on the notion that Snow's voice is different?

I can't say I noticed it for definite but there was something different. I think he was just whispering a bit more in a bit rather than raise his voice in that interrogation.

Yep; just confirmed on Thronecast that the next episode is next Monday at 9pm. So this was just a one-off for the opener.

I'm really hoping they reconsider that approach. Loved having the option to watch it with America to avoid any spoilers, and no ad breaks was a welcome addition (although I forward the ads anyway).

God I love this show. Was great all around I thought but the last 10 minutes or so were just
Was funny and good to see Jon putting Janos Slynt in his place, never liked the cnut.
Also  at The Hound.

What a good episode. Managed to do a lot with many characters. Was expecting less. The Hound was brilliant as always. Granny as well.

Was it just me or did Sky Atlantic keep the fact that they were simulcasting a bit quite? Only found out about midnight, was pretty happy that I didn't have to wait up for the torrent (which I would have downloaded for investigative purposes only).
