Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Oberyn looks really, really wrong from what I pictured he'd look like reading the books, *sigh* :(

The name Oberyn makes me think of a seedy, bearded little old guy, equipped with a tree branch that eventually becomes significant. He belongs to a celibate order that studies mysticism, yet also goes round at night chopping people's cocks off.

If he's not like that I'm going to be severely disappointed, and if he is like that then the shock factor will have gone. Damn you, Seveneric.

Oh God, four short months away

Three.

Three and a half

Trailer looks fantastic. Can't wait for it to start back.

I started it 2 weeks ago and finished season 3 today. I have to say I didn't expect it to be this good. Someone told be it was great, but I didn't believe him, seemed to medieval for my liking, but it's magnificent work in every sense. I love the characters, the fact that you don't have someone as the leading actor or actress or even (arugably) character, so anyone can die just like that, without you even seeing it coming.

It's great, I love it.

This and HoC is helping with my post-Breaking Bad depression.

I tried to read what people said on this thread but it looks like a whole lot of drama and spoilers, so I won't be reading back

Exactly. For the people who haven't even read them, he's posted the name of a character (as far as I can recall) we have not yet been introduced to.

Oh ffs nooooo! Don't ruin this thing for me. Someone carry out the real death ban, please (not on you TH).

Yeah but you've mentioned the name of a character you couldn't have known unless you read the books. This is exactly the kind of thing they don't like.

Except for the press releases in September that announced the actor who would be playing Oberyn in the series and then gave a brief detailed account of the character.

Disclaimer: I have not read the b**ks, don't want to and have never been to 'that' thread.

From what I saw in the last series of GoT the disabled Stark kid had mind control powers. Surely, controlling the head white walker honcho gives him an army to avenge almost his entire family's execution? That's what I'm looking forward to (probably won't happen).

I was kind of the same at first. Didn't expect to like it but was convinced by people to watch it, but once I started I zoomed through it in a week or so and thought it was great.

I didn't know where to post this, but this is Jack Gleeson (Joffrey) speaking at the Oxford Union. He is actually a very smart person and has said that he's pursuing an academic career after he finishes Game of Thrones. It's hard to reconcile the character on screen and how he is in real life.

 Recurring characters and all that.

For shows as popular as this I think that we should have a new thread for the new season.

They put a picture of the new Daario (they recasted his role) on the twitter account, he looks a lot less annoying then the old one.

I've watched all three seasons and I still have no idea who that is

It's the bloke sniffing around Dany, the one who cut his mates' heads off and then turned up in Dany's bathroom, which lead to her giving us some boobage.

The only difference is the beard.

And Hargreaves wasn't stabbed to death at a wedding. Although the next time he's at one the Rains of Castamere should be played, just to see how he reacts.

Perhaps Bran will grow up to look like his brother, therefore being Hargreaves. Bran being crippled would explain Hargreaves injury record.

I think him finishing off his studies is a very good move. Its always nice to have a fall back and just do something you want to do, gives him a break too from the showbiz stuff.

Saw that foreshadowing but earlier today. Was surprised they showed as many clips from next season as they did so was glad. I did like the last clip the most though

Pretty sure it's not a break, he's giving it up for good.

If thats the case then thats surprising. Only cos he's young, so always feel if you've got the talent then don't pack it in so quickly. Of course things can change and he may decide to act again in the future, but if he stands by his words and is happy with whatever comes after then fair play to him. Just wish I had that option in the first place.

George RR Martin apparently plans to have the Book 6 out before the TV series, with no promises for Book 7. He's also re-thinking if Book 7 will be the end or he may have to follow up with another mini book for closure. However, it's widely expected that his ending will be extended like the LOTR books to give a more satisfying end. I know it's book talk, but it's very odd for the series to potentially end on TV series first instead of the Books.

Interesting that he has also confided the plot endings in broad terms to the serial directors, in case he dies prematurely
