Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Why dont we close this thread for this whole year so no fecker talks about spoilers and leaks? I mean we close transfer threads once the window is closed right? There is nothing noteworthy to talk about anyway. They have only been filming for two months. Its clear they arent back till 2019. @KM

The font even changes in this 'genuine conversation' between he and his mysterious friend. A telltale sign of cutting and pasting from elsewhere

But yeah, apart from bringing back the plague, I don't really mind him being back. It's been amusing. Plus, steak is a good way to go!
Nah, to be fair, that was a real conversation I had with a friend, we just typed it to one another rather than talking in person. I re-jigged little bits of it and proofread it so it came across a little clearer on the forum but it was real. Can even provide screenshots (friend's name has been blacked out for obvious reasons but that's all that's changed):

I second this.

Just get a timed ban from the thread if you don't want to see it for a yesr

oh yeah i just edited the op and changed the title and banned people and stuff.

i'd ignore myself if i could.
Yeah you're more of an intrusive thread-squatter than thread owner. A backseat OP.

 never change john

He will do it again in the coming months.
Exactly. This is a guy who couldn't help himself and repeatedly read all the leaks and came in here spoiling the show, got really and then got defensive whenever someone accused him of reading the leaks. He will quite obviously do it again. Why he was let back in here is beyond me.

Nah, don't worry, there's no chance of that happening. This is the last chance I'm going to get to watch this show, and as much as it's impossible to avoid some stories, I'm remaining vigilant so I can get the full experience. Knowing about spoilers before they happen sometimes calms me down when I'm watching a TV show, so it doesn't bother me so much - and, as far as I'm concerned, if something's done well then knowing about it beforehand won't change the emotional impact so much. And I'll still theorise with the best of them and probably read frame-by-frame breakdowns of the trailers when they inevitably arrive in the coming months. But I'll regret it for a long time if I read any leaks for the reasons I expressed above. Plus, I don't want a repeat of August/September. It's that simple really.

You should have been sent to the wall last season.

So much contradiction there. Anywho why did you do what you did last season? Do you get off on the fact that you spoiled it for the rest?

You weren't theorising though. You were posting the plot to the show and claiming it was theories

Sorry but I can't agree with that at all, if you already have pre-emptive knowledge something of impact is going to happen then of course it lessens that impact massively when it does happen whether it's done well or not.

Has Robin even apologised to everybody? :nervous:

I directly asked him if he is finally admitted to putting leaks in this thread and he's completely ignored me. Guys a prat.

He's too egotistical to think he did wrong.

and he's threadbanned again.

Can you ban him from the book thread as well? I don't care about spoilers but I don't think he'll be able to resist the urge to act like an oracle in the coming months and he'll be back to his old ways.

It's fecking weird is what it is.

"I won't read leaks again but I'm going to defend and give reasons as to why I did it and could justify doing it again."

Guy's a <insert expletive to get me a warning here>, good job mods for the re-ban.

I have no sympathy for him. If he wants to read leaks, fine. But to then come in here and pass it off as his own theories and timelines and then act like he did it based on trailers (which arent even allowed in here)
And to not even be sorry about it.
And then basically say hes going to do it again and give excuses for it and basically say hes going to do it again?

 Madness.

Going back and watching it from the start, there is so much foreshadowing that I missed. It’s very cool how they dropped hints of future events which you don’t pick up first tine around.

Also I think episode 10 of season 6 might be my favourite episode. All the characters were involved and their stories seamlessly told to set up season 7, no scene felt wasted. And the music was so fecking good.

I just started watching it for the 3rd time (from the start)... on Episode 3 right now, wish we had more of Ned Stark in the show, wish he wasn't killed so soon. What a gorgeous man he is with beard

By the way, you guys remember watching it live (spoiler free) and expected Ned to die in the manner ?

Yep! After that I kicked myself for thinking it because "he's the main character and the biggest name on the show so he'll obviously have plot armour until at least season 4 or 5". Plus it was impossible to understand how the story could survive after that.

That's kind of what I love and hate about the show. We're now at a point where everything seems too formatted - boy loves girl, girl loves boy, together they'll find the big enemy blah blah. But the show was always about these central characters, it was just that the entire thing was shrouded in mystery and written in a very intricate way. For years it defied our expectations and instead of being short sighted and complaining about how linear the story has become we should celebrate how well the story has been designed to get us to this point, and how it's now time for it to come to a close. The rubbish beyond the wall fighting the Night King's army on a frozen lake doesn't diminish the impact of things like The Red Wedding, not just from an entertainment point of view but also from a story progression one.

Brilliant post. If i had the privileges, i would have given it a "like".

And I have the same feelings as well, the first few seasons (especially first 3) were just brilliant. I am more into how the story was built and characters were developed than the big hollywood type events of the show. I wonder we will ever get something like that again in the future :(
