Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Bronn is probably the best fighter

he's the only one who has earned his place on merit and fighting ability.

the rest were born into privileged houses

New way of putting this. If I'm going North of the wall on a suicide mission to capture a wight then I'm taking

Arthur Danes
Bariston Selme
Syrio Forel
Oberyn

Of people alive not thinking about experience being north of the wall I'd choose

Two handed J
Jon
The Hound.

Think that would be my complete squad. I'd have the legend of gin ally as a back up.

I don't think either of those would be great against wights. You need brute strength and heavy weaponry against mindless zombies. A strategic slice won't cut it (no pun intended).

im a purist mate, I love the beauty of movement and skill and will go with it over power any day, they in the squad but it is a very good point you raise because Zombies are just going to march forward, they probably ain't going to be thinking of footwork and positioning.

If I were taking a squad to fight the Dead, it'd be made up mainly of Dothraki.

If I were forming a Justice League after episode 7, I'd go with the Hound, the Mountain, Brienne, Jon and Tormund. In that order.

Edit: maybe Arya before Jon

Don't think Rhaegar was supposed to be near Jaime or Robert's (who killed him!) level.

Wasn't Rhaegar suuposed to be a great scholar/artist who learnt to be a great warrior? I can't remember what's in the series or/and books but I think that's roughly true of both. The battle with Robert was meant to be a battle of Titans. Another day it might have gone the other way.

Drogo never had to cut that ponytail, he's definitely in the reckoning.

Arthur Dayne
Selmy Drogo
Robert
Oberyn Ned Jaime
Mountain
Brienne Hound
Bronn
K Tanner
Jon

Jon improved a lot though and can't place Arya yet.

House Estermont drew the short straw for house sigils.

I present House Selmy.

You can take who ever you want. Your group wont survive without a dragon. The people in that mission were all great fighters except for Gendry.

I was thinking back to where Dani says, we all enjoy what we are good at and Jon says not me. A lot of people I spoke to thought he meant killing. Maybe he did, at first I thought he meant leading as really in most 1 on 1 fights we've seen him in he gets his ass kicked. Then you see him mowing through dudes at the battle of the bastards and whites. But he is a good leader.

Isnt this similar to what Selmy said about Rhaegar? Think it was s5. Didnt like fighting, but would if needed.

Possibly but who do you think now? If I was Jaimie I would have had a black smith whip me up a blade extension for my right hand so when he throws a straight right he is ending people.

Also, wanna see Jamie get a dragonglass hand made to stab white walkers with it.

No episode tonight :(

Also  People are STILL posting stuff not related to the show and aired episodes (and thus most likely book stuff or related no-gos). And still making excuses regarding it. Its actually unbelievable.

Not to mention the difference in age. Yet Ned looked to be better.
2-handed Jaime was a notch above Ned, surely.

Just a couple notches below Sir Barriston Selmy and the double-sword guy Ron Dayne.

Wait...he played for Wisconsin. It was something Dwayne...I mean Dayne. Would've easily killed Ned in that infamous flashback had it been a fair fight.

He had two hands at the time and didn't appear to be in a strong position. He was also much younger than his opponent, and supposedly in his prime.

Can you stop posting these theories you read online? You posted some book material too a few pages back. If you read these things online which HAVEN'T happened in the show, DONT fecking post it. Simple really.

So no speculation at all? We'll just write good/bad episode?

The series is roughly based on the books. Writing about relationships which the series didn't have time to explore is a little different to saying 'it's explained in the books' for any plot flaw.

People just can't fecking help it. I've a mate in real life who reads all the leaks, theories and book history online and then presents shit to us as though they are his theories.

Except you know they're not because he uses intricate and ancient family connections and names which have never been mentioned on TV to back up his predictions.

One of the lads threw a crowbar at him last week to shut him up and still, yesterday he came out with another spiel of shite to me. It's a disease - he can't help himself from reading them and then once he has, he's physically incapable of not talking about it.

Yes, there are people who aren't insufferable TV show purists. I would have liked to know these things myself if someone else had posted them.
I have spoilered the ONE book related thing I have posted. I don't remember seeing the family tree in the books I've managed to get through, which is why I didn't use that particular spoiler. If you feel the need to be so stringent about something so trivial, go ahead and put me on ignore. Can't believe people feel the need to rage so much over two posts that are pretty irrelevant to the TV show story line as whole.

No way, that SFW thread...

Speculation is different from giving a whole new side to the story away. Relationships that haven't happened in the show YET are not to be discussed cause it could happen in the next season. Like you can speculate if Jon and Dany are going to get married cause no one really knows whats going to happen. But the relationship he discussed could be a big deal in the future episodes. I didnt even read what was in the spoiler cause the title of the spoiler gave it away. If it happened in the books and didnt happen in the tv show dont discuss it here. There are two other threads for that.

Someone proposed on reddit that the snow falling on Kings Landing could suggest that the Night King takes King's Landing first instead of attack the North as per conventional wisdom. that would be pretty sour turn of events for Cersei.

I doubt that would happen, as much as I'd personally love it.

With Tyrion saying there are over 1 million people in KL - once that is taken by the NK, the army of the dead would be pretty much unstoppable (assassination of the NK aside).
