How and why did Sam arrive at Winterfell? Is he done learning everything at the Citadel? Didn't seem like he came back for a specific purpose.

I suppose since he went to learn things to help Jon and the meisters were blocking his attempts to learn more obscure knowledge in time to stop the Night King he felt he'd be of better use helping Jon as he did before. He did learn about the dragonglass deposits and, although he didn't realise it at the time, the fact that Jon is the true Targaryen heir. And saved Jorah, so presumably he's learnt a lot we don't know about.

I loved the bit with Bran.

Bran Three-Eyes, by a fireplace, gets a visit from Sam Tarly, and, understandably, he livens up a bit. “Samwell Tarly!” he says.

“I wasn’t sure if you’d remember me!” Sam says. I remember everything, Bran says. I’m the Three-Eyed Raven!

“Oh!” Sam says, nodding, making a surprised I-know-what-that-means face. “I don't know what that means,” he admits.

Cousin incest is fine, right? Marrying your first cousin is legal in the UK at least.

feck, I had better not drop dead tonight and have "Cousin incest" be the last thing I searched for in google.
They aren't cousins though.

Reminded me of when people ask others what they do for a living.

Random Person 1- Hey, long time, how's it going?
Random Person 2- Good Good, started a new job at Quantica, I'm in charge of Business revolution as well as heading the division of continuing enlightenment for digital media.
Random person 1- Oh, I see that's very nice.

Shouldn't she be much older then ?

They were born during the same period. Robert's army had just defeated Rhaegar at the Trident when Ned was rescuing Lyanna. Dany had to flee dragonstone as an infant when the Mad King died (which was shortly after Robert beat Rhaegar at the Trident).

Loved Sams reaction when Bran told Sam he is the three eyed raven. He was basically like 'oh, that's nice'

Got to give to GoT. No many shows will have us supporting a man who tried to kill a child and cheering on incest.

Eh, why? You do realise there could be a significant age difference between siblings, right? I've cousins that are much closer to my parents' age than mine, with my father being the youngest of nine siblings.

I also agree with whoever it was that said the actor that plays Sam does a great job. A lot of the character's story has been absolute dross but he does a great job with what he's been given, particularly in the more comedic moments.

Helps to like him when he is a United fan as well.

Avunculate marriage was common in the old European Royal houses so it is more than fair game for GoT. Still legal in Holland too, the dirty buggers.

Just watched it. Good but predictable (as in, somebody else predicted it in here) episode.

Oh, and i didn't get even one prediction right so i guess I'm safe from the ban hammer.

Exclusive first picture of the Daenarys/Jon baby.

Even if I knew everything about this episode, it was the best of the season. The last 3-4 minutes were incredible, the Night King is a boss  :D Firmly rooting for #teamWhiteWalker now

Theory on Winterfell (Speculation):

This is a post form @Prodigal7 about the direwolves.

Greywind (A strong but brief force of nature) - Rob Starks life
Summer - Summer being killed represents Winter destroying summer
Shaggydog - A narrative that builds up to a pointless conclusion i.e. a "shaggydog story" describes the life of Rickon.
Ghost - Jon has been a ghost all his life and could technically be a ghost as he's been brought back from the dead.
Nymeria (Arya's direwolf) is a book character and I understand book details are forbidden so I'll leave that one out.
Lady - The lady side of Sansa was killed, foreshadowing Sansas transformation from a helpless and naïve Lady into a political mastermind. Now completed

Ever since I saw this, I've thought about the names of the places of the show. King's landing might have been a cruel joke on Tommen but Winterfell.

Winter-fell.

The show has always had the narrative that Winter is evil and Summer is good.

Is that where the Night King loses his battle? Is that where Winter falls so to speak? Is that where good trumps evil?

Google "how to give more money to charity" straight afterwards, should balance those scales.

There have been more travelling and talking scenes with random soldiers dying the past couple of weeks. I Knew you would like it.
 True. In fact the very thought crossed my mind :)
They could have just had the frost dragon fly to the meeting at the start and kill them all. That's it, only a 20 minute episode, no final season.

Red Wedding/Ned's beheading blown out of the water! Most unpredictable show ever.
Does the Zombie King understand the world of men?

Also, why did the zombies leave Samwell Gangi alive again when they swarmed him?

That's was quite disappointing.

Jon the midnight tv saleseman: You can kill it with fire, you can kill it with dragonglass, order in the next hour and get one free. Dwarf not included.

Cersei: Ok let's do this. Nah it's off. Lol jk, we are totally doing this. Others: yeey we are doing this. Cersei later : lol jk, bruh.

Theon turning into Conor McGreggor in 5 mins + being uber cringy before that. Others: yaray we are doing this.

Bran telling what everybody knew already.

House Incestarian actually looking ridiculous together.

Only good things were that sleeze being dealt
with, and that thermonuclear dragon.

These are awful criticisms.

The only bad thing imo was the whole Greyjoy fight and how easily swayed the Ironborn were.

Also does this mean Tormund and Beric are dead? Probably not but the whole Eastwatch side of the wall came down.

This isnt LOTR. Samwell Tarly not Samwise Gamgi.

This is the whole Jaime and Bronn situation again. Definitely not dead.
