Spoony
The People's President
I only remember Spoony complaining about TV shows.
I'm to TV shows what Noodle is to football.

Ichi the Killer is much more excessive and tedious. And this means that it must surely be a wind up or something? Just a thought perhaps I'm finding Theon's torture scenes are excessive and tedious, it just may be possible that Daenarys' quest and her band of sycophants bores me senseless. Or the likes of Joffery and their one dimensional characters makes me want to punch the TV. Last week was brilliant, it was the only episode of the series that I enjoyed but it was an anomaly. And if this a thread in which only positive things can be said....
You don't like zombie shows then
Daenerys is such an awkward name though
Please don't latch onto another bloody nickname for her. I already blame Iain Glen for using Khaleesi way more than he should.
Just use the spoiler tags: SPOILER /SPOILER within brackets.
Stannis is becoming one of my favourite characters. I hope he takes the charge of things more and more till Mhysa arrives.
Cheers.. Should probably have figured that one out.
Anyway, here's my speculation regarding who gets killed next season:
1. Shae. Tyrion's hot wench. Varys tends to know best and she should have took the diamonds and left. Going by the show's logic so far, anyone who doesn't understand the game and fecks up gets punished. Definitely dying next season IMO.
2. Joffrey. He won't remain king for too long I'd think and as the most detestable character in TV history, the writer just had the decency to his readers to have him punished at some point. He is also a bit of an idiot = death by Martin's pen. Would miss him though. Love hating him and there's a lot of satisfaction involved in seeing him get put down / smacked around.
3. Jorah. Used to like him, but he gets more pathetic by the minute. The look on his face in the Red Wedding ep when Daenerys asked for Carroll after the sack of wherever Also, he betrayed her in S1, when he ran off at once to report the news of her being pregnant so probably deserves it. It's starting to seem like she has outgrown him.
4. Lord Bolton and his bastard. Allied to the Lannisters and new Warden of the North, but have a feeling those evil feckers gets it. Especially if there's a white walker invasion.
5. Book readers. All of them.
HM:
Daenerys. Her God complex indicates that she might mess up on her mission IMO. Also, she is probably the only(?) "good" leader left. Martin seems to love killing those, although I hope he doesn't kill her. She's the only one left in one of the major families so probably she lives though.
If Tywin or Tyrion dies I'm gonna rage.
Funny you say that but I enjoyed The Walking Dead until it started to do a vague impression of a cheap soap opera.
Shae's not an important character so people won't care I reckon. Don't get to see her assets nowadays anyway.
Agreed, still think she's dead though.
Daenrys has the worst storyline because it basically involves "walk in fire, get dragons, amass army". Her storyline is a complete side issue at this stage which is why Martin hasn't put too much creativity into it. IMO her 'real' story will begin when she's riding her dragons blowing away the white walkers - and pretenders to the thrones. Which kind of indicates she's got to live for a while yet.
Well, I agree that she's been boring, especially after the first season but the interesting thing about her character is her ancestry coming from an almost extinct influential family. And the (giant) nerd in me kind of likes the whole dragon thing. She says she won't have any kids though.. so the Targaryens would die? We'll see. Next season just has to be the one where she invades.
The Mad King's brother (Maester Aemon?) is intriguing. I remember his speech a few series back where he still harbours revengeful thoughts despite being a crow. Once he finds out he has dragons...
Yeah, he's pretty cool really and could be a good adviser probably.
How are the ratings for the show? Great I would believe?? Know it's been renewed for one more season, but seeing as it must be a very expensive show to produce you have to wonder if it will be cancelled at some point.. Still remember the shock when I heard Rome was cancelled.
Looks like it's doing great. The "Game Of Thrones" season finale brought in an average of 5.4 million viewers, a 28 percent increase from the Season 2 finale, which attracted 4.2 million viewers.
The finale was the second-most watched "Game Of Thrones" episode of the season, coming in 100,00 viewers behind the show's May 5 episode.
The strong finale numbers bring the "Thrones" season average -- including encore presentations, DVR, on-demand and streaming views on HBO Go -- to 13.2 million total viewers per episode. That moves "Thrones" past "True Blood" as HBO's most-watched show since the 2004 season of "The Sopranos," which did not have the benefit of online streams.
It doesn't have nearly as big a budget as Rome though, or order HBO shows they've done in the past (Band of Brothers, Carnivale, Deadwood), there's no way in hell they'll cancel the most popular show they've had since The Sopranos and what is basically their flagship show now.
Dany is brilliant. She's the only altruistic character in the show and the way she's conquering lands will mean when she does finally reach Westeros she will be a force more powerful than all of the houses combined. Added to that the fact that she garners loyal followers. I love her.
Deadwood and Justified worth a watch then, Eboue? Where's RNils? I enjoyed his recommendation - Carnivale. Was a shame it was cancelled. The second series suffered so much due to that spastic decision.
And yeah Game of Thrones....
No she's not.Dany is brilliant. She's the only altruistic character in the show and the way she's conquering lands will mean when she does finally reach Westeros she will be a force more powerful than all of the houses combined. Added to that the fact that she garners loyal followers. I love her.
