Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Don't read if you don't want any theories.

Do we think the reason why the conversation between him and Cersei was cut short after the "you're pregnant line" is because Tyrion switched allegiances at that point? It's a bit far fetched, but might explain why Cersei strolls out and pretends to side with them knowing she has an informant on the inside. That also explains the creepy Tyrion corridor scene. It would also be ironic given that Jamie then switches sides.

But the problem is that I don't think it suits Tyrions character. I don't see why Cersei being pregnant would make him suddenly switch like that, but we have seen him struggle lately with Daenerys, so maybe he felt that was the time to side back with his family?
It would work as a "show" plot point, but it completely goes against tyrion's character as you say, he literally says he's with dany because she will make the world a better place, and him and Varys have allways been the "for the good of the realm" guys moreso than any other characters. another thing is that if the next season was 10-12 episodes, maybe because it would give the time towards that arc, but theres only like 6 episodes in the next season, there isnt enough time anymore for a dramatic character development. Whats been set up now, is cards on the table time, LF is dead, everyones lines in the sand have been drawn, and its transitioned from a political drama into the fantasy epic.

Dany pulls up on the first dragon to be seen in hundreds of years and Cersei is like ".....you're late". The sass in that scene was of epic proportions.

They used to date - had a massive falling out and aren't on speaking terms and haven't been for a while. It's a shame because it's limited his screen presence at times

Wow, I didn't know that! Thought the scene was done to increase tension that the other's might be in some sort of danger by staying there.

Shame as Cersei & Bronn could have had some entertaining conversations.

Agreed. Just that corridor scene was weird as feck, perhaps it's simply to illustrate that Tyrion knows about them and they're going to try and keep it a secret between Jon and Daenerys. Who knows.

Anyway changing subject completely... looking at the Westeros map. EastWatch is a significant distance from Winterfell, but Winterfell is doubly the distance to Kings Landing (although there is at least a road they can use). Did anyone catch the name of the harbour Jon suggested they head too? It was white something.

White harbor?

They were sailing to White Harbor.

Looking at the map, White Harbour isn't too far away from Winterfell. So looks like they'll get there before the dead do. But the unsullied and dothraki might struggle (dothraki will probably be ok with horses but unsullied will be slow no?).

This is all assuming I guess that the timeline of the wall coming down is similar to the last scene we saw with Jon discussing strategy I suppose.

I thought Jon was taking the Unsullied to Winterfell on ships? They are not marching there.

Considering the speed he was going at, surely the Night King should be at KL by the next episode?

In the war chamber:

Jon: "If we have the Dothraki ride hard on the Kings Road they'll arrive at Winterfell within the fortnight."

We don't know when the NightKing attacked but given they were already sailing to Winterfell, you can assume a few days had already passed. They'll get to Winterfell safe I imagine before the Night King attacks.

At some point we should compile a list of everyone that blatantly tried to spoil it for others so people can put them on ignore for the next season. There is no way in hell I want the final season spoiling for me but I love to share what I think is going to happen based on already aired episodes only.

Please do that. I'll threadban them permanently. Join me brothers.

Yes but the dead still need to march to Winterfell from Eastwatch. I am sure the rest of the group will be waiting for the WW at Winterfell by the time they get there.

The Mad King had three children - Rhaegar, Viserys and Daenerys. Jon is Rhaegar's son. Hence Jon is heir to the throne and nephew of Dany. Jon could have black hair cause he could have taken up after his mother, like Beric said in the previous episode.
I mean, i literally already know all this. Im gonna spoil the next part, its probably something thats been mentioned in the show already and overlooked, doesnt change plot in anyway shape of form but the lot of you have tin foil hats

Quick google search says Mad kings wife doubles up as his sister, which makes sense. Theyre an incestuous house, and id imagine Dany will have no problem getting it on with her nephew.

Yep.

Which means that unless the battle goes horribly wrong, they'll defeat the NightKing at Winterfell (a red herring) and the true villain is Cersei. I can't see how they can do a long battle, only for them to lose and then have to retreat, have another battle where they eventually defeat the NightKing but then have another battle to defeat Cersei. Too many battle with not enough screen time. It's possible I guess. But if they did lose the battle then the NightKing would have way an army so huge it'd be unstoppable.

The question is will Jon have a problem with it?

The problem is between Eastwatch and Winterfell the dead army is gonna get bigger. But somehow they dont need to defeat/kill the entire army - just the Night King so everyone thing else just falls apart like how when Jon killed that WW and his followers vaporized.

There also didn't seem to be that many Whitewalkers from what I could see. I saw 3 on horses as they were riding through the breech of the Wall. So with the Night King, that's 4. I think there was only 4 at the lake scene too.

Tyrion theory with Cersei:

Anyone else think Cersei played Tyrion with that whole pregnant thing and as a result Tyrion sees this as sort of redemption for playing a hand in the deaths of Cersei's children? He did say he loved them. So is there a chance he wants to make up for their deaths by protecting this one? Or something to that regard?

The scene where Craster's boy is turned by the NK. I doubt he'd have anyone other than his white walker generals at such a ceremony.

So many great scenes. Littlefinger finally getting what's been coming to him, Theon redeeming himself, Jaime leaving that psycho bitch, and Mr. Ice Dragon tearing down that wall.

Cersei blaming him for their deaths was absolute bollocks anyway. Tommen died indirectly due to Cersei, after she killed Margaery and destroyed the faith. Tyrion did originally ship Myrcella to Dorne but her death was largely revenge for Oberyn's.

Oberyn's death occurred indirectly because of Joffrey's. Cersei accused Tyrion of his murder without any proof because she was desperate to see him dead and wouldn't consider the various other potential murderers who all had solid motives. She did more to result in their deaths than anyone else.
