Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

Why not just take Kings Landing first, and get rid of Cersei, and not have to brother with this whole long winded plan of capturing a white Walker and showing it to her in order to get her on side? As Jamie pointed out, they cojdojnt fight off the Dothraki and 3 dragons.

Don't like the pregnancy curveball, although it may be fake and just a way of Cersei keeping Jaime wrapped around her finger.

Good episode, nothing amazing but hard to top last week. The Rhaegar/Lyanna reveal is huge though.

Hey, don't go all covfefe on us here.

I think the point is that Dany doesn't want to slaughter thousands of innocents to get to the throne. Thereby holding off the attack for now.

And also, seems like they're holding off the ultimate conclusion on the war for the kingdoms - including the Cersei storyline - until next season.

Well he is going to find out in a couple of months wont he with the baby bump?

Some hyuge reveals:
  • Jon is a legit Targ, not a bastard
  • Tyrion is a whiny mope who was more fun on the sauce
  • Davos reads fan forums

This is bollocks. Too faced paced for me. What was the point of the last 6 seasons? Should have just did it right, got the pacing rights for the last part of the show. fecking stupid if you ask me.

Feels rushed as feck now. Not happy at all.

Was the moment between Jon Targaeryan and Drogon supposed to a reveal of some kind? Kind of like, the dragon could smell the family link in him?

Something like that. Dany's eyes lit up when she saw him with the dragon.

lol I know, I know but I just preferred it when it were 10 episodes.

Now, with this new format I expect something crazy to happen every episode. This episode was meh imo.. felt like a filler episode. Maybe cause I probably knew what was going to happen.. I don't know.

Dany didn't comment on it, though. That's what raised the question. If it was an unusual reaction from Drogon, you'd expect her to say something.
It was unusual. The dragon was actually okay with Snow and he trusted Jon. That surely tells Dany something.

Probably the biggest secret of the entire Song of Ice and Fire was revealed in this episode. Wouldn't call that a filler.

Like we mostly saw Ser Davos talking shit to Gendry and Gold cloaks.

To Sam right now it means nothing anyways. He has no idea Jon is their son.
Well not to Sam but to the whole throne fight and story it means everything. if he knew it he could have made a copy of it and taken it with him to prove that there is paperwork to prove that Rhaegar did marry Lyanna Stark. Bran does the rest.

Jons plan sounds stupid, but the funny thing is, this is Jon through all the seasons.
Everything hes done has been pretty much gung-ho rather than planned out.
From trying to leave the Wall to fight for Rob (before being convinced otherwise), to going to the King beyond the wall on his own, to fighting the Boltons the way he did to now this.
Its consistent with his character (just wish he was a bit darker given he... you know... died).

:nervous: Filler? aha.

Anyone calling it a filler episode is just proving how ignorant they are of what a filler episode is. This moved the main plot points along and set up the next big moments/confrontations.

YESSSS! But fecking Sam stopped her before she read the whole thing and there is really no other way of finding out now is there?

Sam gave that book to young Sam. I'm guessing Sam if fecking off to Winterfell where between him, the maester and Brann they'll figure out Jon is actually a true born Targ.

Yes Bran will eventually figure out from his head that Jon is a Targaryan but you need proof to convince people in Westeros!

Okay it wasn't a filler but it felt disjointed for sure.

Why would he make a copy of it? He has no idea Jon is Rhaegars son. To Sam it is an entirely random bit of info that has no pertinence to anything he is trying to accomplish.

You do realize that as viewers we know things all the characters do not right?

2 people got burned by dragonfire. You also had the first Jaime-Tyrion reunion since Tyrion killed Tywin. Cersei revealed shes carrying Jaime's baby and she also learned she tried to have Tyrion killed for nothing. GENDRY'S BACK! He also bludgeoned 2 Gold Cloaks to death. And some of the best swords in Westeros embarked on a wight hunting mission north of the wall. I haven't even mentioned the Sansa-Arya-Littlefinger shenanigans or Dany and Jon giving each other feck me eyes.

I really, really hope Arya isn't so stupid as to fall for Littlefinger's scheme. The tension was shown between her and Sansa earlier in the episode but she should be sensible enough to know Sansa's letter was forced.

Hope the resolution is that she shows Sansa and convinces her to get rid of Littlefinger once and for all.
