Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

I don't mind the time traveling or the hungry army hordes going without food for weeks but this thing did my head in -

It's actually down as a really dangerous river to cross for that reason, it's called Blackwater Rush and it's supposed to be super dangerous to cross for that very reason.

What a dick Randal Tarly is..

Was he the one shown burning at the end? Looked like a bald guy on his knees.. Hope he is dead.

Who goes weeks without food?

It's funny how many times movie/tv shows use the "look at the person sinking into deep water" shot only to have the water not be that deep. Mention in a previous post, LoTR's did it twice. Most be symbolism or something.

So, just listened to a recap podcast - they spent a good 5 minutes debating whether Jaime died at the end of the episode, I didn't realise this was even a question? Thought it was pretty obvious that he's not dead... and I didn't even think the show was trying to imply he was?

Or is that just me?

 That's great.

.
Yeah there is no way they make Bronn save him from the dragon fire only for him to die in the river. Thats ridiculous.

The way it appeared he was drowning was the only bad part of the episode for me. I mean logically, that's not what would happen to a body that was just pushed sideways off a speeding horse. Really dumb way to end the episode on that scene. It should have cut to the credits the second bronn pushed him off.

Why was that a bad part?

I assume that's just because he has a gold hand... I didn't take it as him drowning though, just him sinking, I'm pretty sure he'll swim to the surface, or Bronn (was it definitely Bronn who pushed him? Or was it Billy Bones from Black Sails?) will get him to the surface... but I mean, thats a wholly uninteresting way to end the episode, so I can see why they didn't bother.

I just found it unnecessary. Cut out at around 51 seconds of this video and it's just as effective. Anyone with any sense knows Jaime won't die from this so why even make it a point of discussion.

I'm more curious as to where the water came from at all in the battle at the end for Jamie to be pushed into. Unless I was being blind there was no river or water anywhere to be seen on the battlefield until this point?

They're also making this really big deal out of Sansa being smart and being wise to Little Finger. There's entire scenes or comments dedicated to it in every episode...so either he's going to try something and she'll play/outsmart him at his own game, or she'll try doing that and it'll turn out it was his plan all along to get her to do that, or something. Basically one of two complete opposite things will happen, possibly.

Isn't there a conversation between Tarly & Jaime regarding getting all the troops and grains across the Blackwater Rush before nighfall, just before Dany attacks with the Dothraki?

If you go back and watch the scene there is water visible throughout much of it, starting at least in the shot where Bronn and Jaime are looking at the convoy and talking about stuff.

Yeah I thought that could be him as well but need confirmation. Also Dickon () what happened to him? He saved Jaime and was never to be seen.

Pretty sure his armour is heavy, he would most likely sink with it on.

I don't remember seeing any and due to being too lazy to watch things back I'm going to presume I am right.

Its not just the hand, Jamie is covered in steel plate armour! Try swimming in that..

Their CGI work is much better than some of the movies I have seen with budgets much bigger than GOT's.
