Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

I can see where Spoony is coming from, whenever a thread is bumped or active it only feels natural to read it. That said, I've also managed to remember that Game of Thrones is out the same time every week, so there is that.

Yes, because this is the only website I and possibly many others frequent. It's habitual. I'm not sure how that's difficult to understand. I'll start checking other websites religiously for airing dates though. Unless it slips my muddled up mind though. In that case, I'll punch myself for being absent minded.

I think we should make a list of book readers who've crossed the line. It seems they're not going to learn.

I just can't understand how you can see this thread on the forum, and open it without first thinking if you've seen the latest episode or not, or that redcafe is the only website anyone goes on. I'm pretty sure you guys are the exception to the rule.

I think there might be a list a few pages back, or at least some quoted posts that highlight a few offenders.

Yep, I get that too. But it's like a matchday thread, or a movie thread reviewing a film I haven't seen. I will see said thread, ask myself if I've seen the match/movie/show in question, and then open it based on if I have or haven't.

Generally movies in the film thread don't contain spoilers because not everyone will have seen them, but that's where the spoiler tag comes in. And yes, perhaps it's only a couple of us, perhaps we are exceptions to the rule. Something like Cina's suggestion could save a few absent minded folk from the feeling of being left in ruins. That said, despite knowing Robb was going to be slayed it didn't spoil my enjoyment. Not that I enjoy relatively nice people getting slaughtered. But I've admitted it was my fault, so I'll just have to make sure it doesn't happen again. Anyway...just in case it happens again I'd like you to know that I'll take my anger out on my next door neighbour's poodle, Hectic. I hope you'll be able to live with yourself.

I've nothing against Cina's suggestion, but as I mentioned, the thread title is full. It's more important to warn people about book spoilers resulting in bans then it is to provide the air date or a warning when it airs, as we deal with the book spoiler bullshit every week, the other thing not so much. I didn't mean the general movie film thread, that's handled very well all round. If I could add it in, I would! Maybe we can shorten the thread title and include a small bit to include EP:09 for example or something like that.

Unfortunately, I will be able to live with that. It's not that I don't like poodles, or like to hurt dogs, but the more we detach our emotions from this thread, the better it will be for all of us, except if your neighbour posts on the caf. If that means a poodle has to get kicked because someone spoilers it, so be it, poodle gets kicked.

All of that debate and my stance on it aside, I didn't post in here immediately once I'd seen it because I assumed there would be posters from England who might open the thread without realizing a new episode was out. I wish it was released everywhere at the same time, somehow, and all book readers didn't have hands or something.

How about rename this thread the book thread? that way they will avoid it completely.

What about now?

Game of Thrones TV SHOW | S03E09 | Airs Sundays | BOOK TALK = BAN + REAL DEATH!!!!!!

Has the TV part, has season and episode number we are on, air date and life threats for book spoiler cnuts.

Or:

Game of Thrones TV Show | Season 3 | Episode 9 | BOOK TALK = BAN + REAL DEATH!!!!!!

That's brilliant. You've saved the bloody poodle, Hectic. You are officially a dog lover. (lover as in you've got sinful thoughts)

You're right, it will save further confusion anyway so why not.

Or do you prefer this one, which has the next episode air date in over the s03e09 part?

Game of Thrones TV Show |Season 3| EP10 on 10th June | BOOK TALK = BAN + REAL DEATH!!!

I think stating what episode we are on is enough - if people still get it wrong from that point, they don't deserve the ability to read.

To be honest, either of them will suffice, Hectic. Which ever one is easiest I guess. Hmmm the first one perhaps?

The current title is fine IMO. Adding the date of each episode makes it unnecessarily long, especially since the air dates don't usually change.

What if I forget the episode number of the episode I most recently watched? This is all so confusing, I may just have to stop watching the show for fear of spoilers.

Why? Can you lazy wankers really not google "game of thrones episodes" and click the wikipedia link, which has every episode chronologically listed by season?

When the episode starts surely? :p

My biggest problem is that i accidently hit (it randomly decides to open) the book spoiler thread when on my ipod.

Shall we talk about GOT now?

2 weeks ago i kept thinking about Theon getting his nob chopped off, now im stuck with throats getting slit and robs wife getting her baby belly stabbed

I'm sure you could've sacrificed a few of those exclamation marks in favour of more text.

I can, which is why I offered the other alternatives above, but everyone liked this one.

Honestly, jveezy. You really shouldn't have to do that just because a few people can't be bothered to do something for themselves. I get this shit in work every day and it's not on. If they don't think they've seen the episode, they shouldn't click the thread. Generally the thread dies down mid-week and then re-ignites on a Monday anyway so that should be an indicator for when an episode has come out. If you're seeing a lot of posts in the thread, there's obviously been a new episode for people to talk about. It's not hard to figure out or understand. Some people are just too fecking bone-idle.

Okay, if this is how it's going to be, I'm going to change the title to S03E10 when the episode finishes airing in US Eastern Daylight Time.

I was going to change it on midnight of Sunday but that's even better.

Epguides.com is the best thing for TV show release dates/season and episode info.

That's all true, but in the same tone, Spoony is right in the sense that it helps out the people who don't do the above, and it's no extra work for us to change the thread title. I always see this thread on a Sunday night anyway, and if jveezy doesn't mind either there will always be two of us updating it.

To make it easier how about simply 'airs on sundays' and keep it at that. This way it'll stop you or Jveezy having to mess about each week.
