Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

This is why book readers shouldn't be in here.

I've long stopped posting anything related to the plot, I don't see anything wrong with discussing how good an episode was or moments that happened in it though, but you are right, book readers who actually discuss the plot and tell you about things and history from the books without you actually asking them should be fecked out of this thread and thrown on ignore.

Why?

I haven't mentioned anything about the story. All I've said was the reactions are priceless, and we've been waiting a while for this - we all went through it too. Anyone who spoils anything should be shot, then banned.

I don't mind book readers in here. Commenting on the episode is fine as long as its generic and not spoiling.

But some of the comments on the past few pages has given me a few spoilers on Daenerys. I really don't want to know who she may or may not like. If someone asks a book reader a question, simply PM them the answer. Simple.

I don't even look at teasers or episode names for spoilers.

I'm kidding but tbh having no book reader in this thread significantly reduces the risk of spoiling. That's one for the mods and I'll stop at that

Anyone who's posted in the book thread should just be banned from answering any plot related questions.

Perhaps we'll have to ban them posting in this thread. Or start a new thread for folk who haven't read the books.

It was awesome. The second those doors closed I knew she was going to die, but I didn't expect it to be like that. I'm glad she died and it was so brutal, I knew she would be part of the downfall of Robb so she deserved a mental death. I also like how pathetic he looked when he died, completely helpless and there was no remorse or happy ending over the loss of such a big character/hope.

I liked their deaths, I just didn't like the fact she was stabbed in the stomach. Of course the people didn't know she was pregnant as only Robb and whatever he name is knew but it was still pretty brutal. I can understand the way Robb looked when he died, I felt sorry for him.

His problems stemmed from marrying that girl in the first place but I can forgive him for that, everyone should marry for love. If you're discounting that then his real mistake came when he executed that Lord Greystark character.

Revan's the worst for it that I've seen. He's always quick to embark his knowledge and prove he knows more about what's happening than everyone else, it's really quite annoying.

I suspect he'd have chosen to die after seeing the love of his life and future heir to the throne slayed in front of his eyes. It's why I was happy seeing him die.

I liked it, it was especially cruel, as it should have been. He shouldn't have broken his oath, and if he had too, shouldn't have been stupid enough to think that an apology and bringing your wife along to the shamed house would resolve it. He was a bit stupid really, and looked as much just before his death......"Mother".....sorry, she can't do much you over the sound of Bolton stabbing the feck out of you Hargo. That's not to say I expected the death or betrayal, but he should have been more cautious.

He was desperate for Frey's army. And he was urged on by his mother to go ahead with the war to show the Lannisters how it feels to lose a loved one. That just completely stopped him from thinking about the consequences.

Well ostensibly a union suited both parties, a Michael Corleone style revenge would've seemed illogical at the time.

Burn all the books*! Only the properly formatted scripts shall remain. In singular copies.

Book me in on that signature Hectic!

Definitely, I was hit by his "know-it-all" vibe too.
@ Hectic: What if they speak of books in the show  ?

I think it's best to just assume books do not exist, in general, ever. If they talk about it in the show, then questions like "wow, what are those things with the words on them they mentioned in the show" would be okay.

I think he underestimated how much offence was caused by his spurning the wife, and then taking his too. It suited him much more than the other (what would have suited their house was the marriage Robb backed out on) and he already has a terrible previous with their house because of that, so it was still pretty stupid. There was a massive risk there which his mother outlined before when they were discussing it, even if they weren't brutally murdered at the wedding, which she also hadn't obviously considered. She also mentioned how dangerous it is to break a King's Oath a few episodes back I think.

I'd agree with that. Their earlier success' in the war got to Robs head somewhat in my opinion. The only real leverage the Starks had to guarantee they wouldn't be assassinated was Jamie. Once Jamie was set loose by Cat, they all should have been extra cautious. Frey had a large army and had been burned by the Starks, they should have seen a betrayal coming.

Still I suppose when you have an army defending you and you still get killed, you have to wonder what chance they really stood. Someone should have been whispering in Robs ear "the needs of the many..." every single time he made a freaking decision.

I just don't see the need for anyone who's read the books to actually post in here. You can't speculate about anything, because you already know what happens, so I say pipe the feck down and get over to your own thread.

If you see a book spoiler or comment in here about the books, please PM it to me in a spoiler so I can ban the poster and delete the post immediately. I hate going through this thread because I'm scared someone will somehow ruin it for me.

I missed this first time round, but is Bolton married to one of the old-man's daughters?

Is there anyone on the staff team that has read the books? We could PM them instead?

Actually it wasn't the best episode ever, cause there was no fanny. Can't have GoT without some poontang, it's like ... illegal.

I'm not sure. I don't mind reviewing PM's though, if it's a major spoiler, for example had someone about Robb dying or the red wedding a few days ago (I don't think we have any book dicks on that level) just let me know above the spoiler it's especially bad.

Most of the books guys are innocent in the sense that they don't want to spoil it for us intentionally, but since they know what happens it's very difficult how to take each post.

Yeah PM me or jveezy if you see any, that's fine. I'd like to think I do ok in here having read them. I don't speculate, and will usually just comment on how good I found the episode and will then rate the nudity.

Its common sense really. If you have read the books, then dont fecking post here. You cant really talk about it from just the week's episode POV either since you know what is going to happen next. So if they are posting it has to be only about how good the directing was or good the visual/special effects were.

I wonder about this. Most people at the banquet were killed by having their throats slit, it seemed like Robb's wife was deliberately stabbed repeatedly in the womb, as if it was to kill the baby. And earlier during the episode, when Walder Frey was looking at her, he said something like "I know exactly what is going on beneath a dress" or something along those lines, he was being crude alongside that so we obviously assumed he meant 'you have a nice bum lol', but seeing how everything panned out, I wonder whether he'd guessed she was pregnant and instructed his man to kill her that way.

Yeah we're not all dicks, we purposefully spoke in the book thread about being extremely careful not to spoil it for the Tv viewers. What things not to mention, etc...

I think he mentioned that he married one of his daughters or granddaughters for a load of silver.

No, instead we had Dany making sexy eyes to Generic handsome man.

Yeah, some of them are really weird. How they perceive characters, especially knowing how they end up as a result, can give things away - even the smallest details are annoying as feck for us. It doesn't matter how small or trivial you think it is, there is no need to mention it because no-one wants to read it! I'm almost tempted to make a Game of Thrones sub-forum just locked to just us non-bookers.

That's the one, I thought there was something that made me feel it might have been on purpose. The fact they went for the stomach is significant I think, and with what Frey was saying before, it seemed like he was alluding to her baby.
