@Massive Spanner
time to get hyped, I hadn't even seen this before and there you have Jon with beric and his crew

I like that in Season 7 of GOT, 2 episodes in. The only involvement the White Walkers have had is a 30 second clip of them wandering aimlessly about in the snow...the exact same thing they were doing at the start of season 1.

This will no doubt continue on into season 8 as there's no way they can have 7 whole episodes of them actually doing stuff.

Oh man! Just be patient, you'll change your tune.

A question, did the Children of the forest create the white walkers or just the Night King ?

I guess we don't know for sure but I imagine more than just one guy suffered a dragonglass dagger pushed through him

Some dialogue from season 6, episode 5:

BRAN: It was you. You made the White Walkers.
LEAF: We were at war. We were being slaughtered. Our sacred trees cut down. We needed to defend ourselves.
BRAN: From whom?
LEAF: From you. From men.

Saw this on Reddit, colour palette of the costumes this season...

Show needs a dose of colour. I can get the North being dour and miserable but I don't think King's Landing has been hit by winter yet. Jaime's badass armour is the only outfit with a dash of colour this season as far as I remember.

Colours Transport mood so this is impactful. Watch the appendixes of LoTR on colour grading.

I want Cersei to end up on the Iron Throne but as she's there now, we know for certain that won't be the case.

Shame.

Shame.

Shame.

Shame.
Something I've always wondered; why is it called the Iron Throne if it's made out of steel? I guess we'll never know...

Remember that Cersei's most likely wearing black because all of her children are dead.

I understand that but blacks and greys everywhere gets very dull. Shouldn't Daenerys outfits be a little more triumphant? It's like 99% black with a bit of very dark red.

Rewatched the scene with arya and the wolves again, it was brilliant second time round

Soooo....

Just watched this episode again and came across this scene:

Pretty much says Hodor himself and Hodor wont last all of Brans journey. Kinda same for Meera. Good stuff.

I hope Meera makes it. One of the low-key cool characters. Only her and Jon have actually killed a White Walker.

(Sam fluked a backstab, doesn't count)

Id be gutted if Meera did die. I think theyre destined to be together. They've been through so much together already. I'd be surprised if either of them get in any real danger now since returning.

Not sure why I wrote Hodor twice. lol

Yeah Meera is a cool character. And due to her hair, she reminds me so much of Jon Snow.
I actually did forget she killed a WW.
Also that same ep, I forgot just how close Bran was to Jon Snow and shouting his name.

I think Meera's going to be sidelined until she's necessary again, which will most likely be in season 8. She'll make sure Bran gets back to Winterfell and then disappear for a while.

isnt her dad alive?
Yeah, she'll go home for a while. Her dad holds the key to revealing Jon's true parentage as much as Bran (and, I imagine, Sam and Gilly) does, but that won't become clear to Jon until he gets back to Winterfell in season 8.

So I was watching some random Seth Meyers video on Youtube and realized that the show has not said anything about *that* plot shock point where they showed Melisandre morph into this old woman. Have I missed something that they may have showed in the show or did they never really bother with it after picking up some cheap points on the shock factor?

Hasn't been addressed in any shape or form in the show since that scene

Plus there is a chance she knows of Jon's true heritage, as it was her father that fought with Ned at the tower. So if she ever meets Jon it could be one of the ways this gets revealed to him.

A question to got viewers in this thread :

What kind of ending you wish to see?

As in happy ending? Bad ending? Hanging ending? Gray ending?

As for me I'd love a happy ending where the good guys win, regardless of how mainstream that is. I want a show with proper ending instead or a gray ending, although happy in got universe isn't actually Cinderella like.
For some reason I have a feeling most of the main characters and white walkers will die and only Tyrion is left to rule with a dragon or two on his side.

Shes as old as the WW. Its all a plan between her and the Nights King to take over - she took Stannis into war and is now taking Jon Snow and Dany (the two biggest threats) into war to die :)

The Nights King wasnt the prince that was promised, he was the King that was always there
:P

By his side certainly sounds more plausible than riding on a dragon. That would have needed to happen at the end of season 1.

Was there much point to showing her old and wrinkly again?

She took off the necklace to reveal her "true self" during a serious crisis of faith. She'd invested all of her belief into Stannis' cause, only for that cause to fail pretty spectacularly after she burnt a child alive. She'd identified Jon as an alternative during s5 because she detected something special within him, but upon her return to Winterfell she found him dead on a table. She even says herself to Davos, "The victory I saw in the flames, all of it was a lie". At the beginning of s6 she's doubting not only her powers but whether the Red God exists at all, and in the end it's Davos who has to talk her round.

Remember that scene from s5, where Jon asks Mel whether she's cold considering she's only wearing her dress at Castle Black, and her response is to say the Lord's fire keeps her warm and to press his hand to her cheek? She spends all of s6e1 in huge scarves and winter clothing because she's hit rock bottom so hard that she no longer feels her god living inside her. Mel's old and wrinkly form represents her giving in to her very lowest point. Her faith is somewhat restored after Jon wakes up, and once the Stark banners unfurl at Winterfell they cut right to her because it's her vision that's come true.

There's even the scene before the battle for Winterfell with Mel and Jon in the tent discussing her faith and his resurrection, and in that scene she admits she has no idea what the Red God wants from her, that she's a conduit and nothing more. Once the battle is over, Davos demands she be executed for burning Shireen and Jon gives her a chance to defend herself ("Do you have anything to say for yourself?"). Instead of defending herself she just admits she's been ready to die for many years, which is a pretty concrete reference to the fact that she's old and wrinkly underneath.

There's no need to bring it up again because her crisis of faith has been dealt with, and now she's weaving the Lord's web in Daenerys' direction. Maybe if she dies at some point she'll turn into her old and wrinkly form before she gives out her last breath, but until that moment it doesn't really make sense to do it.

She's an old magical Witch. What more needs to be said?

The first seasons are the best...

Finish the first season at least. If you still don't feel like keep going, abort.

Many consider the first season to be the best, narratively. It's definitely the best written.

Though the pay off for most the story arcs comes in the last few episodes. Stick with it.

@langster If you don't at least make it to the season finale I will reach through this screen and gouge your eyes out with my thumbs.

The final episode kind of saved the series to be fair. I was ready to throw in the towel as episode 9 was just horrific losing two of the best characters in one go and revolving around the two most unlikeable characters. I was left not really caring much but then I put the last episode of season 1 on and thankfully focus switched more to the likeable and interesting characters rather than the cnuts. The ending of the series was done well and I must admit it did leave me wanting to see more so I am now just halfway through episode one of series 2 which I am quite surprised to be enjoying more.

I do have one question though. When the feck will winter actually arrive? They have been banging on about it constantly since the first episode.
