Television Game of Thrones (TV) • The watch has ended

You forget that the Starks were leaders of a rebellion that killed her entire family except her brother and an elderly granduncle.

Danny doesn't know the history that well (and the difference between Starks and Lannisters), but Lannisters are to blame for that. When Starks arrived in KingsLanding, Jaime had killed the king, Lannisters have sacked the city and killed the remaining Targaryans.

Ned together with Robert leaded the rebellion, but wasn't to blame about the massacres in KingsLanding.

It's in the first episode pretty much, though I have read on the tv show wikia type thing (so no book-knowledge). The Mad King's nephew stole Ned stark's sister and his other brother/father went to get her back so the Mad King killed her, and them, which led to the rebellion. Tywin betrayed the Mad King by sacking King's Landing and helped Robert Baratheon, who led the rebellion with the Starks.

Ok cool. So the families hate each other.

They'd need to bring that more to the forefront though or like I said, shift the characterization of Danerys (most likely...think she has the potential to become a bitch) if they were going to clash.

Although after that last episode all bets are now off.

On a side note, I made an accidental foray into the book thread about a year ago before it's name was changed at the time they were talking about Robb Stark being killed. Bastards. At least now I have a clean slate again.

Unfortunately I accidentally went in there the other day and saw posts about a couple of characters I won't name that gave me a bit of a spoiler. It's in one of the most recent books though I believe so hopefully I'll have forgotten by the time the tv programme has come around to that. The threads are too similarly titled if you're just glancing or on your phone.

Yeah

A Song of Ice and Fire
Game of Thrones

Absolutely uncanny.

The capital letters with the word BOOK at first glance can be easily mistaken. I've done about three times in the last couple of weeks.

Do you follow me around to have a pop or something Cina? I can't quite work it out, do you you have a problem with me?

What? I can't even remember the last post of yours I quoted before this. Paranoid much?

It's probably because I was just in the Posters you confuse with each other thread, you replied to me there a while back.

Oh ok, I was just in there too right after I saw your question and can see how this can be interpreted like that. Don't worry TH, I don't hate you, or do I?

Can I just say I hate the fact this is based on books. It's impossible to tell exactly who has read the books and who hasn't, why I'll only read posts by posters who I know haven't read them - only for them to quote some wise-ass book reader.

You should all be branded with a tagline for me to put you on ignore.

The new Caf better have a mass ignore function. Then all of you feckers are gonna be on mine!

Must have been hell for those who watch this show with people who have read the books. The unbearable smugness would reach an all time high.

They'd probably look something like this for several hours after the first death...

Jesus...a TV show has never shocked me like that. When the guard shut the door and the Rains of Castamere started playing, I got a bad feeling but holy feck, I was not prepared for that. The Starks are fecked.

I want Frey to die burning, the bastard. In one 5 minute period he's jumped ahead of Joffrey on my shit-list.

The whole hostage in the end was another one of braindead Stark moments. As if Frey would give a feck about that. This is why I have never had any respect for the Starks barring Ned. Their combined IQ is in single digits.

I just heard Frankie Boyle is being a cnut on twitter and posting spoilers. Glad I don't use that shower of shite.

What else could she do? At least she took someone with her.

I thought maybe Arya could have saved the Direwolf at least but oh no, of course not.

Just give us another kick while we're down, George.

What else is she meant to do? Kiss his cock?

Something other than making a proper fool of herself. Frey was right there, could have attacked him, or something. But then she lives in a world of her own where letting go of people you should be killing is normal. She let Jamie go, after all.

Didn't make an iota of a difference that. She thought after all the planned attack, when Robb is there down and for the taking, Frey would let him of all people go because of that nonsense hostage. Moron.

Yep, on the other side Ned was very smart. He ended well. Oh wait...

Ned wasn't really smart, but nowhere near as lame as these ones. This is why they are dead and the Lannisters rule, with a mastermind like Tywin at the helm. They deserve all of it.

You have to respect the ones that dont post here to wind others up. They should get cool taglines.

"knows too much (but quiet about it)"

The ones that do talk about it

Rob was still alive at that point. Grabbing a hostage was her only way of doing anything. She should have grabbed Frey himself, but really nothing would have changed except maybe Cat could have killed Frey. She and Rob always seemed doomed. :(

Good honest people get burned up in this world it seems. Sad how all this began because Bran climbed a tower! :(

Do you really think that if Bran didn't see that, the things would have gone much better. After all, Ned would have gone there anyway in the end, and Lannisters would have wanted to rule anyway. Probably a minor difference, but Westeros was meant to have this big war.

I read on another forum that Frankie Boyle is on Twitter apparently spoiling stuff that's going to happen in the future. So if anyone here is following him, they might want to avoid that.

I'm not checking his page to see if it's true.

I don't think the Starks would have got as much involved. Ned would still have been hand of the king. But there wouldn't have been as much conflict between the two houses.

He is.

Yeah, you should all avoid Frankie Boyle's twitter feed, it's not just tonight's episode he's spoiling. Stay away!

Mind...blown...am really depressed after watching that, especially when they repeatedly stabbed her in the womb...as a parent that was awful. Not even the last episode. You know more shit is going down.

I doubt it. Ned would have probably find that Joffrey is not Robert's son anyway and the things would have gone the same. If not, than Stannis know it anyway.

Hard to know, but I don't think that many things would have differ that much.

I can confirm this. He spoiled two big things and thought that he is funny for doing so. What an idiot.
